I loved this store! I found it as I was looking for dog friendly places to explore while my husband was attending a workshop at the North House Folk School. There were so many fun things to look at here. And they truly are dog friendly - we were welcomed in and a couple of the employees even got right down on the floor to give my dog some love and attention. Picture is my pup patiently waiting as I picked out books for my grandkids.

This place had everything you would need when up around Lake Superior. Everything from hiking shoes/boots to socks and Cole weather gear. Knives, hiking sticks, snow shoes, spikes for walking on ice, homemade jewelry, kitchen plates and dinner sets. This place has a little bit of everything for everyone.

Had clip on sunshades. There are no real pharmacies or ‘drug stores’ in Grand Marais for these sorts of things but this place did not disappoint. Lots of parking and right by that big beautiful lake!

Came in here expecting just a bunch of random nicnacs. I was shocked they actually had good quality gear and clothing. Employee’s there were awesome. It’s not cheap, but you need to realize the clothing itself isn’t cheap. They have good gear, this isn’t a generic tourist shirt shop. Picked up my new favorite flannel there. Nice shop!

Cute, crowded & somewhat eclectic collection of wares from camping gear to willow tree collectables. Definitely could find a gift or souvenir. Absolutely beautiful rustic decor!

Every time I go to Grand Marais I stopped here no matter whatso many detailed little knick-knacks up on the second floor all of my extra camping needs on the first floor. I always have insight on what the next best shoe is by looking at their products. I've purchased multiple books. Cooking items gift for other people. A dorm at one time a cutting board. And candles galore all quality items.

A nice, large gift shop with both local gifts and camping/hiking equipment. Also fun knick-knacks and collectibles. Prices are high, but there is certainly a lot of variety.

This place is an awesome selection out of an abundance of choices for souvenir shopping & friendly customer service. Also a public restroom which was an immense help lol.A huge variety of items at competitive prices based on the other like minded shops in town.Before settling on a place to get some goodies, make sure to check these folks out.

We brought our kids here to learn about the trading post, and I learned as well! The kids loved the hands-on museum and the tour of the trading post. I feel like it made the history alive for the kids.

I've been 4 times and always end up buying more than I intend for souvenirs. The place is well stocked, the staff is helpful and friendly, and there is something for anyone here. Every time we stop in Grand Marais, we make it a point to visit. I recommend it to anyone whether you need some outdoor gear, some kind of adorable souvenir for any age, things to do on the north shore, or unique decor from local artists and more.

My wife and I enjoyed the outdoors and we have camped at the BWCAW for three decades or so. Every time we go there we always made a point of visiting this trading post. In addition to souvenirs, the store is quite complete and it carries lots of outdoor gears (and at reasonable prices). The people working there are always friendly and helpful. They also carry a good supply of maps of various routes and entry points to the BWCAW. To those who love the outdoor life, you will find lots of gears you never think you need in addition to eye candies in the store. Check it out for yourself and hopefully you will enjoy browsing (and buying/getting) quality items there.

Nice store that had lots of camping and hiking gear including: bags, rents, hammocks, water bottles, camping necessities and repair items, hiking shoes and clothing.They also have a good quantity of books and reading material, other clothing and apparel, along with other souvenir items. Neat 2 story building of items.

I loved their selection! They even had replacement lids for my husband’s water bottles! We weren’t even there for that, but we ended up buying them. They have a wide variety of price ranges and brands from $1 magnets to $100+ sweaters. I know you could find the perfect gift, no matter the budget. Definitely would stop here over other gift shops.

I like this store... A mix of outfitter with quality outdoor goods, gift shop with fun "up north" items, and toy store for the kids. Two stories of fun! Not usually cheap, but generally worth it. Recommended.

Incredible gem on the shores of Lake Superior in Grand Marais! Family ran business for many years, full of Minnesota themed treasures! There is absolutely something for everyone!! Clothing, footwear, quality camping gear, knick-knacks, collectibles, Up North cabin home items, and candy too! Children and dog friendly to boot! Great place to roam around and feel welcomed!! A must stop!!

I love all the unique finds that you can get here. It is a fun place to roam around even if you don't end up making a purchase. My favorite area is the second floor. You'll find super warm cozy fun hats there that are actually really great in super cold weather. My friends and I usually make this a stop when traveling the north shore. The view outside is lovely as well. These nordic hats were all finds from there!
