Do not put gas here. There is a warning for an authorization charge if you pay at the pump bit no warning for how much it can be up to. Maybe next time clarify it can be UP TO $175 holding charge that won't clear up for 24 hours.Appreciate the reply but I think you're missing my point: the warning sign and the discount you offer are adequate but it would be better if you stated that the holding charge can be up to $175 and last up to 5 days. That is what your gas customers need to be aware of. Rating stands.

When you are on the North Shore, and looking for hardware items, I highly recommend Buck's Hardware. I discovered no radio in my rented cabin, so went in search of one in Grand Marais. Other merchants where I inquired after a radio recommended Buck's. Old-fashioned service. Got a radio, and it was $24. Great reception, well made. Employees will walk you to the shelf in the store so you can find what you need. Equally friendly to the townies, and the visitors. Very impressed.

Before heading into the Boundary Waters for five days, my boys needed some advice on fishing tackle. A local shop owner suggested we look up James at Buck's Hardware. Before we found James I had picked out a few items. James discreetly put all my items back, and proceeded to give my boys a 15 minute clinic on fishing in Minnesota while picking out some choice lures'. James was amazing! My boys caught more fish in those five days than I've caught in a lifetime. Thank you James!

They have everything. They are a real time hardware store. Been going to Buck's for 40 years as a tourist. Never have i left without what I needed. Now I spend time getting repair parts for my friends cabin, and they have everything. Fair prices with quality materials. From Boy Scout axe to grit for the driveway its at Buck's.

Handy, has a lot of what you might need. But they also seem to know that you don't have many other options, and it's reflected in the prices. E.g., $180 for a $75 space heater, $14 for a $6 extension cord. But I guess if you need it that bad, then you'll pay for it like I did.

I stopped into Hank's hoping to find my much desired "Snow in Summer" plant that blooms plentifully in Grand Marais. I had already looked at local nurseries and found none. So, I was delighted to find three plants to chose from and made my purchase. Thanks, Hank!

The original nearly everything store on the North Shore. I don't know if Grand Marais could have survived all these years without Buck's.Now there are some specialty shops that handle a deeper selection of certain items like sporting goods or camping equipment, but Buck's is still the best for me.

Friendly helpful staff. I called to check if a product was in stock and they found out for me. Even asked follow up questions to clarify which item I was calling about, which I appreciated.

Stop here because it was on the right side of the road heading north. Gas across the street was a dime cheaper, and the gas station has more than one bathroom unlike this place.

Unimpressed. went there for gas before heading home from vacation and got charged 170$ in gas when I only put 31$ dollars worth in. Wouldn't recommend going there for gas.

If you need anything, there's a good chance you can find it here. Fishing supplies, bait, gardening, hardware, paint, stains... The list could continue for quite a while. And the friendly, helpful staff doesn't hurt either!

Gas, snacks, plumbing, electrical, paint, bait, hoses... i don't even know if I could list all the stuff that Buck's sells. This place has everything a person needs to get stuff done. They probably don't have suits or jewelry though.
