Typical diner / cafe. Friday fish / shrimp fry was terrific and is done all day Friday. I really liked how the shrimp were battered. Came with choice of potato and I did the baked potato with butter and sour creme. Comes with salad bar, which was smaller though sufficient.Note that they bring the fish and shrimp to you and if you want more just ask and they bring more out fresh, which was fine.

Atmosphere and service were top notch. Waitress was very friendly even though she was super busy. Salad bar had a great variety of salads; pasta, lettuce, fruit types and even pickled herring. My liver and onions were perfect with a large portion. The hubby's cheese burger was delicious and he liked the spiced fries that came with. Sadly the peach pie had good flavor but the crust was not fully cooked; soggy? The lemon meringue had great flavor, but the crust wasn't quite right. I would have eaten all of it if I wasn't stuffed from the liver.

Cute little place ! Waitress’s are very friendly. The food was VERY good ! I liked both potatoes , hash browns are buttery and flavorful, pancakes are great ,gravy was nice and creamy . I definitely recommend trying this cute little place out . I believe it’s family owned . CASH ONLY - but they have an ATM .

This is a great truck-stop, 'mom n pop' place to eat.If you want good, wholesome food then this is your place to be.Menu is pretty wide and varied and should suit most tastes and appetites.Recently went there for the first time since COVID and it did not disappoint.My first time having country fried steak on the Trucker's Breakfast.So very good.Cheese curds were also excellent.The staff are super friendly.Note: bring cash. They don't accept cards but they DO have an ATM out front.Enjoy.

I stopped a number of times here, this is my first breakfast. Busy the wait staff was kept hopping but pretty much stayed on top of it. Standard breakfast fare with a couple of comments, the ham was a generous portion and the orange juice was better than average in terms of flavor. Definitely will stop again.

Nice place to stop and eat off of the highway! Breakfast was great large portions and the Roast beef dinner was great. Coleslaw was phenomenal.

Great food, attentive servers, and overall really friendly staff! Our portions were enormous and the pricing is great, too! Not only did we have an awesome experience here, but I left my purse there and the new owner, Kari, tried to get ahold of me on FB and ended up driving an hour to me to return my purse safely the next day!!🙏♥️ Who even does that anymore in this day and age--she's an angel and has the staff to match at this establishment!!💯😇 If you want a down home place where you're still treated like family and served absolutely delicious food in whopping proportions, then THIS is the place for you! 💫🙌

Don't underestimate this cafe. Yummy food for super cheap. Try the grilled chicken melt. Two of us ate full meals with salad bar for less than $20. The salad bar lacks...salad fixings so to say. And the building is old and dirty. But the food is tasty!

Always have great service when we come- even when they're busy! The food is usually pretty quick- tends to take a little longer when they're busy for obvious reasons. They are cheaper so you don't spend an arm & leg at this ma & pa restaurant! Love their Indian tacos as well- first Tuesday or Thursday of every month? And they have fish fry Fridays! They seem to be busier on Sundays though. Can't complain here!

This little gem has the best food ever! I first ate here several years ago. I discovered it during the 100 mile garage sale. I always think about eating here again when I pass it on hwy 61. This time I made it a point on the way to Treasure Island for a concert. There is hwy 61 road construction, but the detours didn't take us too far out of the way. The waitstaff are the best and the food is awesome! They have a variety of menu items and specials, As well as a salad bar. I had a fish sandwich and chicken dumpling soup. Both were very tasty. I wish this place was closer to my home...I would visit once a week!:

Great food, friendly staff, great portions & cheap! What made me decide on 4* instead of 5*: cash only (ATM there inside) & water tasted awful (tasted metallic). We got mushroom burgers (one w/ fries & one w/ cheese curds) and split one soda. Total was ~$15.

We went for the Indian Taco's (1st time having.) The fry bread is what makes this SO tasty. Only recommendation would be to add some black olives to this dish. Found out after our pie, that you can also have the fry bread as a dessert (cinnamon/sugar with toppings if desired.)The staff here is always so friendly. Obvious ly like the place, as we drove an hour.

A classic cafe serving up breakfast exactly the way you’d expect. Everything was made to order and delicious. The waitress kept our coffee cups full and even suggested the cinnamon roll which was the best cinnamon roll I’ve ever had. This is the perfect breakfast place if you’re camping at Frontenac and are too lazy to make a meal in the morning. Stop here, you won’t regret it!

Great food. Excellent friendly waitress.I want to go back for their Indian Taco Night. Always the 1st Tuesday of the Month. Their hours are shortened certain days of the week but longer on Fridays when they have their Fish Fry. This place is a hidden gem! And I haven't even mentioned their Old Fashioned Malts.If you hit it when they are open try their Breakfasts. Rib sticking good 👍.Parking: Plenty!

Love this diner! The menu does not disappoint- if you’re looking for a classic diner plate it is on it! My husband goes for the chicken fried steak and I am all about the omelettes. Their pie and burgers look good, too!Cash only, but there is an ATM.

Discovered this small cafe just a month ago during a group camping event nearby. It was busy but service was top-notch and servers very friendly. You couldn't find a better deal and the food was wonderful. Huge portions! I liked it soooo much that I'm returning today and will probably order the same breakfast.

Stopped at the Whistle Stop on Saturday 10/8/2022 for breakfast. We where out leaf viewing and we also stopped there 10/21 for the first time. What a great breakfast we had it’s a small place but they put out a big breakfast. The food is great the service is excellent the staff is friendly. If your ever in the area or your just looking for great food drive on over there. I guarantee it won’t be your last time.
