We had the creek site camp spot, not only was it clean, but you could hear the stream running(made for some great sleep!). The staff was friendly and down to earth. There was many other spots nestled into the trees, really private for campers. ATV trails right through the area. The trailers didn’t seem as private and nice as the tent camp sites.A cute bar with food and drinks too. Would stay again!

Camped here with the Family as a central location to explore Northern MN. Nice campground, with a solid outhouse in walking distance. My Teens said the showers were hot and kept clean. I cannot attest as I chose to stay rustic to ward off the MN mosquitoes. I do vouch for their overall character and assume they must be telling the truth in this matter.Make sure you join for Bingo night. Tell Bob and Julie we says Hi.Safety: Felt safeWalkability: You can walk anywhere in the campground

Stayed in Cabin #1—overall, had a pretty pleasant experience! We arrived on a Friday afternoon and walked into the lounge, were greeted by an employee who checked us in, gave us our keys, and also a heads up that the showers and restrooms attached to the main building were going to be more pleasant to use than the old outhouse by the cabins. (This was very true! The outhouse was pretty annoying to use, especially since other campers seemed to completely ignore the huge signs saying to keep the toilet lid closed, making it way stinkier than it needed to be.)The cabin itself had a parking spot, a nice screened in area, and ample sleeping spaces. It had a musky odor, but opening both windows overnight had a nice, cooling cross-breeze. We appreciated the mini-fridge and tons of hooks to hang our things! The closeness to the bar was nice, being able to grab a late night dinner was pretty neat.Overall, We really appreciated the pet-friendly accommodations, which ended up being the best reason to stay here. Otherwise, we might stick to the more rustic state campgrounds since that's usually all that we need.

Great if you're an ATVer - it's right on the trail. But ONE shower for the whole campground, and most campers end up using outhouses - not vault toilets or porta-pottis, but outhouses. Our site was near the entrance, and never went more than an hour without someone driving by. Where are they going at 4 AM in the middle of nowhere? Even the bars are closed. Staff had a hard time getting our bill right. Then, at the end of the weekend, had a hard time getting our friend's bill right (and tried to charge them for us even though we had already paid). WILL NOT CAMP HERE AGAIN.Noteworthy details: This is really a campground with a bar, not a lodge. Everything was done Red Green style (Rube Goldberg) and often broke. Needs updates.

Hi we were there from July 1-3. We stayed in campsite 2. The first night we had neighbors in campsite 3, a couple and a son.I was sleeping and I heard noises and the dad was bearing up his soon. My spouse told him to stop, what shocked was that the mother never said anything. We enjoyed our stay except for the bugs. But great little ace. New owner's. I would go again to see how the new owner changes the layout. We took a tour and he is already excavating. Loved that it had a restaurant and bar. The only thing I did not like was that the restroom because it was with the shower and it tied it up a bit more. Hoping it gets more showers too. Thanks Jason .. we will definitely go again.

Camp is under new management and doing a fantastic job, the newer sites need a little grading work to help with drainage but otherwise an awesome place. It rained A LOT while we were there...Perfect location to hit the trails right from your camp site, bathrooms and showers in great condition, lodge was Cozy, warm, inviting and very affordable for its remote location.

Took my 2 grandsons and their Dad, my Son, for a 4 day camping and ATV adventureThe campsites are all very private. Plenty of room for trucks and trailers at each site. The lodge brings in the local bikers and 4 wheeler club. Friday night accommodated us all... The trails were phenomenal. We had Thursday to Monday. Rode 60 miles every day. Rained hard and made it better. Campsites handled the all night rain great. We had everything we needed, ice, wood, Ice cream cones for the grandkids.Need to find more Jiffy Pot Popcorn.I will find a way to winter camp here and enjoy the snowmobile trails this winter

We normally camp on public land, but Spring thawing left our usual roads inaccessible. We called Wildhurst and Spoke to Nick who told us he would look to see if he had any sites that weren’t too wet. Sure enough he called us back 15 minutes later with a spot! When we got in, Jason got us all set up. The sites are private and beautiful. Lots of wildlife, but only the kind you welcome. Other campers were friendly (if you’re reading this, thanks for jumping our car) and bathrooms/showers were sparkling (by camp standards). All in all, our Spring thawing misfortune turned into something of a treat being able to camp at Wildhurst. Highly recommend.

Just spent 4 days at Wildhurst ATVing and relaxing. We enjoyed a peaceful stay. The accommodation for our 33 foot RV were great! Easy in, easy out. New owners are very nice and user friendly. I was also impressed with the privacy and nice layout of the secluded campsites for campers. The evening showers in the shower house were great. I would highly recommend this campground!

Spent two nights in the yurt. Staff were great and super friendly from questions after booking, dinner at the lodge, to check out. Kids begged to go up to lodge both nights to play cards and pool and get ice cream treats. Already planning a return trip with the side by sides to explore the trails. Great location just up the road from Illgen Falls and Tettegouche State Park.

Probably great if you are a 4 wheeler...looks like trails run right through it. Restaurant looks inviting but havent tried yet. As a camper in an RV...its spaces are very tight. Note same picture over and over on website. Hookups are difficult to get to had to dig a hole to connect regulator...spigot on the ground opening down...under a Bush. Wish I was into 4 wheeling they were having fun. Owners are sweet people and eager to help insure your visit is good! Nice property and location for exploring the area.

Great place, my boyfriend and I have visited there twice. Jason and Nick are great people and make the lodge feel like a home away from home and they're always cracking jokes with you and swapping stories. Found the lodge the first time when we were sight seeing up north campsites are spacious and beautiful, went up again recently to go snowmobiling and had the same cozy cabin feeling. Lovely place and great people hope to go again soon.

The owner is very nice and staff makes you feel right at home away from home. Let me know what mornings are like and where all the restrooms were. He was also so nice by letting us know all we should check out as far as scenery and a good time. Highly recommend so much so we decided to stay another night.

This is a great place to stay! The scenery is amazing! They have 10 sites, cabins, and a variety of things. There's a nice restaurant / bar right on site. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. They went out of their way to help me find an air pump when I forgot one at home. Already looking forward to my next visit.

Excellent campsite! For tent camping it was ~$20/night with tax included. The site has new owners who just took over this year and are doing everything to improve the place. There are clean bathrooms, showers, a hose to wash dishes and get clean drinking water. They have a small restaurant/bar that they plan to start serving from soon. The owners are the nicest people and have great recommendations - because of them, we knew to go to Silver Bay to watch July 4th fireworks. We went up North without any campsite reservations and EVERYTHING was full. They had an overflow area, which was admittedly not very private, but they still let us stay even though all the sites were taken. Next time I go back, I'll definitely be staying here again.

We came to ride the atv trails and this campground is conveniently located directly on it. Stayed one night in a tent site. Trails were nice, with some nice overlooks. We had some appetizers at the lodge and a few drinks. Great service and reasonable prices. Purchased 3 bundles of wood and all burned hot and nice. Alot of nature in the area. Fell asleep to a grouse drumming. Definitely will return

Very clean and quiet. The guy who checked us in was very nice and helpful.Close to State parks with a general store close by in case your forgot anything. Shower had hot water and the room was clean. Only thing is there only two showers/toilets and a not so great portable toilet - so if the campground was full it could be an annoyance. We didn’t check out the lodge - but would definitely camp here again!

We camped here for the wknd, we really like this place. We did lots of walking on the 4 wheeler trail, since the trails weren't open for wheelers yet. The restaurant is handy in case you don't feel like cooking! Owners are very friendly and helpful. Got to see several snowshoe rabbits 🐇and lots of grouse!

Stayed at campsite #9 and had an awesome time. Very nice location and campground! The site was secluded and felt very similar to dispersed camping which I preferred. The restaurant and manager were awesome and offered a ton of information during check-in. If you can't disperse camp or book a reservation at a state campground, this is the place to be!

The cabin was great, clean, can sleep more than one person in them. The lodge house bar was a lot if fun with others that came to the campground. Definitely will recommend this place and stay again.

Owner is a delightful guy. Bathrooms are worn, but nice, hot water in the shower. 15 minutes from tettegoucheFood & drinks: Vintage bar with hot food and pool, darts, board games. It's a great place to escape "that hour" just before dark when bug spray doesn't seem to deter the mosquitoes.

2 stars only for the poor bathroom situation and the overpriced wet firewood. 5 stars for the site and general location. They only have 1 shower stall that is in room with the 1 toilet. 1 for men and 1 for women. The only vault we found was multi use and it made my eyes and nose water. Fellow campers were nice.

Cabin was musty smelling, outhouse not clean, one shower in good condition--place is in need of some general up keep. For instance screens on our cabin were duct taped to the door, brush overgrown around cabin...If your only interest is ATVing, then this place might be okay for you. Overpriced for what you get. We left a day early because the cabin smell and dampness was getting to us. Save your money and go somewhere else.

This wonderful place saved our vacation. We arrived on the Saturday of 4th of July weekend, asking if a vacancy. Yes, campsite #1 was available. We were thrilled and so relieved. The campsite was beautiful, it had a wonderful flowing creek alongside of it, with a bench to sit and listen to the water in complete peace. We can't describe how happy we were with this site. The shower room/bathroom next to the lodge was immaculately clean. We had been thrown out of our accommodation that morning, Mariner Motel in Silver Bay, because the owner we knew was cranky from six years ago was angry that we each rang a bell to show we were there to check in. We were in shock, and Wildhurst Lodge and Campground saved the vacation for us. Thankfully we had our tent ready for later camping, and we could not believe the perfect campsite we were given at the last minute like that. We had camped at Wildhurst in 1999 and it was just as great then but this time our campsite was even better with the lovely creek. THANKS is just not enough, and the rate for camping (our entire night was $19.33!) was so reasonable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!

I needed a cup of coffee as my head was nodding while driving from Ely to the North Shore. Out of nowhere is the Wildhurst Lodge to save the afternoon. We didn’t go camping or stay in the cool looking yurt or cabins, but went into the authentic and quaint tavern & cafe lodge building. A simple $1 coffee saved the day. Next time will come here for dinner and a beer.
