I have appreciated Kowalski’s for decades. Only recently have I come to realize that their Excelsior location is nearly perfect for 2 retired people. Ultimate in customer service and best stock of any place I shop. They have better freshness (dated packages are significant). Two people want 18 “Vital Farms” eggs to be great until they are used.It’s great to have lunch at one of best Asian restaurants from the same parking lot. Just ask and your grocery order will be brought to your vehicle. Parking is free, but limited. We have always found a space without trouble.

I use to love ordering their birthday cakes but the last few times they’ve been a bit lacking unfortunately. This recent one we just picked up has zero purple in it, like it shows online, and the marbling looks dull and “blah” - not like the brilliant colors in the online sample. It will have to do since we don’t have time now to order another, but just unfortunate the quality is not as high as a few years ago.

Beautiful store, laid out so you don't even know how much time your spending looking at all of the wonderful products.What I mean to say, even for non grocery store shoppers it's a great experience.And they had family sized goulash. My mother used to make goulash and it was one of my favorite meals.I've never seen it in a store beforeAnd if you're on a diet do not I repeat do not go by the bakery section it is totally wonderful. And I mean don't go because your curious or you will get just a teensy little sweet pastry or two, or three. Lololol! Like I did.And of course that's mostly all the pictures I took. So you won't have to look in the pastry shop. They also have wonderful soups, and pre-made dinners and sandwiches, for brown sackers and bachelor's and bachelorettes.Well I could go on but maybe you should go see for yourself.

My wife and I went to the Excelsior Kowalskis with our toddler. To keep our toddler busy and stop him from crying, we usually give him a banana to eat whenever we first walk into a grocery store & then we politely ask the cashier to charge us for an extra banana because our son ate it during our shopping. Cub, Target, local co-ops, & Lunds have NEVER had an issue with this at all (in fact, they usually ENCOURAGE it).However, when we told the cashier at the Excelsior Kowalski’s that we did this, they were visibly upset with us and said that “we aren’t that type of place”. What exactly are they implying with this? That children are not welcome in the Excelsior Kowalskis? I’m not sure, but regardless we will never be returning to this Kowalski’s again.

This market is extremely overpriced! So unless you are a yuppie with tons and tons of money, to throw away on food, if you are then when you're in the mood, hit me up and take me along on your shopping deeds. Because I would love the helpful assistance with my grocery needs. I only went in for one meal, and after paying the clerk approached as I hit the parking lot, and she had the nerve to ask me if the bags of food did I steal!It is no joke! I said to her NO, and it was just fine, I'll show you my receipt tho it was still in the till at the self checkout line that I just went through. And my cost for one meal for a family of 5.... came to the hefty cost of $125. So any and all help to feed my starving children by any or all of the more fortunate and wealthy who roam these lands, wont go unnoticed or unappreciated, and will be well recieved better than beans in cans. Great selection of high end food items that can’t be found and Cub, Target or Walmart. Very nice staff. The checkout lines are always a huge mess. It’s just a free for all mess of people trying to figure out where to stand and which cashier to go to. It would be great if that would get appropriately organized. UPDATE: The quality of the food has declined and the cleanliness of the store has as well. It's not consistent anymore.

Came in here for the Starbucks, unfortunately they have the store layed out in a such an odd way that it sucks for anyone trying to wait in line to order or to pick up their Starbucks. Basically jamming you into a checkout lane 3ft away.The store itself also doesn't smell great making the waiting experience not outstandingBut after getting my drink and walking through the store I enjoyed all the random snacks they had layed out to look at.

I got the raspberry mascarpone cup, don’t bother. The raspberries were tart and because the dessert wasn’t on anything it melted all over my hands when I tried to eat it. I should have just stuck with Lunds and Byerlys instead. I also got some chocolate strawberries, which weren’t bad, but also weren’t great for the price I paid. Staff at the bakery was nice but the staff at the checkout lines seemed annoyed I was even there. Checkout lines are too close together and prices too high.

Great produce great Meats great deli. They have a salad bar that is very nice. This place is a little on the spendy side but for their pre-made meals I believe they are fairly priced.

My favorite place to eat, absolutely enjoy life when I go to this store. it is the most expensive, but highest quality food around. their salad bar, deli, bakery... man.. their selection is incredible 👏.You're gonna pay though, but for a treat, it's so worth it! never change Kowalski!!

I love Kowalski's and wish there were more locations, especially closer to my home! I was especially surprised and delighted by the turkey-vegetable meat loaf. Scrumptious!! Will make the drive to get more!!

I'm actually very impressed with this grocery store. The employees are like artisans & professionals who really know their specific area. No matter the question or level of complexity, it fits right up their area of expertise. If you're planning a party of higher quality, this is your place. I wouldn't hesitate coming back here anytime I need specific ingredients or guidance.

The quality of the fresh meals is weak. The Eden Prairie store is way better. The chicken tenders were basically burnt. The soup was not very good either. So I have given this location way to many tries and have repeatedly been disappointed. So it’s back to the Eden Prairie location from now on. Management should have to go and learn how Eden Prairie does it way better.

This is such a great local store. We were thrilled when they upgraded their produce section with fresh organic produce. So much better than the produce section they opened with. They also have a surprisingly well- curated gift section, fresh flowers, and an amazing soup and hot food bar. We feel very lucky to have this one-stop shop with a gourmet feel in Excelsior. We were also very happy to see that they just added a plant-based meats section! Saves us an extra trip across town looking for these items.

Interesting layout and we'll appointed. Great gift corner with an excellent and varied selection of inventory. Lovely produce section. A really pleasant young man, Chris, a front end supervisor, took my groceries out to my vehicle. An all around pleasant shopping experience. The only suggestion I would have is to make the prices for your plants less excessive.

We love going here for great ingredients to make wonderful meals. They also have a great little gift shop where you can find cute and unique gifts. If you are looking for a place to have lunch at, they got you covered with many options. The staff is always friendly and willing to help out. They have a good selection of items throughout the store.
