Older, basic motel that could use some upgrades. However, it was still Clean Enough and Conveniently Located on the Ely lodging strip (Sheridan Ave). However, we though their rate was kinda pricey at $156 for 1 nite (Yes, it was High Season). Included 2 queen beds (OK for comfort) plus $15 non-refundable deposit on our small (12#) dog. No frills beyond that. If there had been a "vacancy" at nearby "Adventure Inn" we would have seized it...since that same rate included a continental breakfast. Still, we got the quiet, decent nite's sleep that we needed.

We came in late at 10:30 pm and the owner was very accommodating. The room was just right for the night with 2 queen beds for our family of four. Everything was extremely clean and well cared for. Sometimes hotels/motels have a "smell" about them but not this one. The linens were fresh and everything was really great. We'll stay here again when we're back to visit!

Simple and clean. TV and small fridge and microwave. Plenty of hot water. Owner was flexible and friendly to our needs. It is dated and quaint but is all we needed before our BWCA trip. Would stay again.

This is a great little inn. It has everything you need - clean rooms, comfy beds, great pillows!, decent shower, TV & cable, Wi-Fi. It's charming and cozy. A little small but we didn't need anything bigger. There's even a small table & microwave in the rooms.The front office employees were kind & sweet- great customer service with that hometown feel. It's nice to park in front of my room and walk right in.The location is great! Near all the shops and easy to get to. I definitely would stay there again.

When you're up north, you're not looking for luxury. You're looking for a sound nights sleep, and a properly conditioned room, with a nice kickstart in the morning.Paddle inn will give you what you need. Coffee in your room, cups provided. Mini fridge (with mini-er freezer) and a microwave. The great outdoors are meant to be enjoyed, so PADDLE INN and have a great stay!

Great hospitality and location for BWCA preparations. They include great amenities for all, and a great location near restaurants, stores, and gas stations. We always look forward to enjoying sitting outside under the canopy to visit with others. Great accommodations!

If you are looking for a clean quiet place to stay that is reasonably priced this is it. The owners a local, hard working people and do a great job managing their hotel. The sauna is also great especially if you stay here in the winter. I always stay here before going into the BWCA.

We stayed here back in 2016, sorry that I’m super late to leave a review but I remember my experience very well! You all might think this place is bad just because it’s a motel, well that’s not true at all. The motel was very clean and felt very comfortable. The area it’s in is a very nice area as well. It’s quiet and the staff is very friendly.

The Paddle Inn is great. The location is within walking distance of the best places to eat and shop, the owners are great with late check-ins and early check-outs, and it's the perfect place to stay for a large group before heading into the Boundary Waters or Quetico.

Everything at the Paddle Inn was perfect. Next time we go to Ely, the Paddle Inn is where we will stay if not camping. Edgrrr, our dog, was also satisfied with the stay at Paddle Inn.
