Place was very unorganized, the prices were probably good but it was hard to tell what was on sale and what wasn’t, there was stuff just thrown everywhere in a big pile. Also it’s the only place in ely to add money on cash app and the guy working didn’t know how to or else was having some technical difficulties and couldn’t get the scanner to work. He tried but it was obvious they need to update their register or scanner so that it’s in working condition. The employee was nice about it but seemed a little frazzled and short staffed as he was the only one there.

I went to the store yesterday they were closed, I went today and was told I couldn't come in as they were closing due to computer problems. He let a man in right in front of me. I told him, I just needed cigarettes and had cash. No go. This store is always hard to get around as there is merchandise carts lining the aisles and hardly any product on the shelves. I was also standing beside a gentleman who had a package delivered to Dollar General, he had the slip in his hand. He couldn't get his cancer meds. Some major overhauls need to be done in this location. Ely Minnesota

I hate to bash local but this is the worst dollar store ever. I feel so bad for thier staff. They refuse to staff it so the 2 employees they have are over worked. There is never anything on the shelves, the isles are filled with carts of items needing to be stocked and the line to check out is always so long you can't shop the health and beauty isles.This is NOT because the product is on cargo ships it's in the back. Hire more people, treat them decent and stock your store.

The prices are def budget friendly. They sell a variety of goods, from stuff you need for your home every week to camping supplies as well as decent variety of snack foods & drinks, even surprisingly, coconut water. I would def shop here again when I'm in the area.

went into the dollar general to get some paper plates and other common needs. the other dollar store across town is closing so we had to go here. not our normal place but was pleasantly surprised by the staff kindness and simplicity of finding what we need. overall the workers and store was very nice and provided me with what i needed. would go there again!

I absolutely LOVE this store. We don't have much for shopping options in my small town and they do such a great job of carrying our basic need items and sime here. Always great pries especially on pop:)

Only shop available in Ely to buy misc items like batteries besides the gas stations and grocery stores. I show up at 8:30am, store is supposed to open at 8am. Lights on, second door wide open and the first door is locked with four people waiting to get in. Call the store and no one answers. Real classy.

Waited in the car for this trip. My sister visiting from out of state had one item to pick up. Uh-huh. Checked my phone out a bit. Car still running. Look up n figure, she'll be here pretty quick. Hmm. Well let's get out n have a smoke. Starts getting busier as several people driving in at same time. More cars n people. Some start leaving. Finally get back into car. Wait n check phone. LoL. There she is! I'm guessing a half hour or more n I don't even know what all she bought yet! 😃Update: turns out she went to buy things for me since I'd just had appendicitis surgery! Including a nice pair of loose fitting lounge pants! What a sweetie! 😁❤️

Went to the store today around 6. Loghts were on inside and out. Google said store was open. Its not their new hours are apparently 9-5. Update your hours on Google pls.

Not always friendly staff or never can seem to find them. Always a messy store with item carts in almost every aisle. Poorly stocked. The last time I went in for Pokemon cards, two gals helped me out..and I was like, WOAH, you are real 👍👍

Its a good store but staff is a bit crazu here and there. They've pulled it together quiet a bit though after the loss of a few ppl and are doing great. Store is mostly clean and the staff is helpful

Pretty inexpensive. But the line takes forever because they don't let them use hand scanners and they chit chat a little too much with the patrons. But that's literally every dollar general.

The isles are CONSTANTLY filled with unloaded merchandise! It is difficult to maneuver a cart, and often there's no way to get around these monstrosities.Checkout lines are long and time consuming.

Dollar general is a good store. Seems they have lots of maintenance issues. Tracy that works there is always friendly, helpful, smiley, love her!

Stopped at 8:10 was supposed to be open at 8. All the lights were on and saw employees walking inside and the doors were locked! Not the first time it's happened!

Went there on the 30th of sept and they said they opened at 8:00 and the lights were on but no one was there. Waited 30 mins and no one opened. 🤔
