You will Love them like I do !Kendra & Team are Absolutely Wonderful. They have everything I need for all my fur babies, from horses to cats & everything in between. You don't have a fur baby, their furry resident Spikes Ambassadors love cuddles & slurpy kisses are always Free. They renovated the most beautiful building. You have to go just to see the huge beams & tour their facility. But watch out, you won't be able to leave without discovering something special. BTW, did you know Spikes is a member of the Gertens family, which we love? Need I say more. Stop & meet the Spikes Team !

Nice hometown feed and garden store. Big selection of pet items but prices higher than I expected to pay. Staff were nice but busy eating pizza when we asked for assistance. Customer service subpar.

Walked in to check it out and was so happy that they have things that I could only get online before. The ladies working there are so knowledgeable and I had a great time just wondering around and playing with the dogs and kitties there. I would highly recommend this store and I will be back.

My girlfriend and dog got attacked by two of the store owners cats while shopping. Totally unacceptable and could’ve happened to a child. Will not be shopping here anymore.

Beautiful store. Even if you don't think you need acting you should stop by. You would probably then find something you need and be hooked. Helpful and friendly staff. The store has so much including baby chicks (in spring) dog toys, food, salt pellets, lawn fertilizer. It's also an offspring of Gertens so they have beautiful plants. After driving by for years I was glad I stopped in. A real Elk River treasure.

Good selection of house brand and name brand livestock supplies. Prices seem a little on the high side for some items but not by much.Staff was friendly, and helpful.The only place in a reasonable drive that has sheep mineral.

Updated again to 5 starStopped in, Monday no one came out to help, but when I paid they did offer to help load saw only 1 gal working on a Monday evening was somewhat odd but the offer was thereThanks SpikesPrior update 6-14-22 Luke, my input would be put a bell out so anytime a vehicle pulls in someone comes out and offers to help load. If that's what should occur. If your staff should immediately come out they are not.The last time I was there there were 2 trucks in the loading drive-in, I was parked outside. After waiting 10 minutes I went in grabbed my 10 50lb bags, walked past both trucks down to mine, went in, and paid saw 4 staff behind the counter. There was a line of vehicles behind me so when I was paying inside I told them there's a line outside.Since I had to walk down the ramp to my truck when I pulled out I still didn't see anyone come out for the line of vehicles.If the next time someone just offers to help load I'll update this & make her 5 stars for youThank youLove the old-style style setup, in & out however, all the times I've pulled right into the loading dock there's never been a staff person there to offer to help.I'll go inside & there are always 3-5 staff inside & no other customers.When you spend more for the convenience just an offer to load several 50lb bags would be appreciated.

The manager is very rude.. so I will NEVER go there again or suggest it to anyone I know!! I saw them on news the other day and went in there a few days after... and NEVER-EVER again!!! This is a cool place and the staple of elk River. When we went in we were greeted by a friendly dog and there are also two very friendly cats that make the trip extra special.If you've never been to spikes, you should check it out at the very least to meet the animals.

Super friendly, great prices compared to menards and home depot and smart employees. I asked a couple of questions related to grass seed and the nice young lady answered them and had personal experiences to back up her reasoning. Went back the next day to buy more grass seed.

We were looking for a couple of winter plants for our town home. We purchased an elegant designer spruce tip and a deluxe door step charmer and could not be happier. The plants were very fresh and the selection was huge. This place was definitely worth the trip up for us. We will be back in the spring!

This local feed store carries a nice variety of quality pet food brands and animal supplies. The employees have always been courteous and very helpful. I'm often greeted by Raven or Ivy, two very friendly cats. Plus, as a registered customer, I receive a bonus bag of pet food after making the required number of pet food purchases.

An excellent addition to the Elk River community. The building is beautiful on the outside and in. There's plenty of cat and dog food options to be found inside. Other animal supplies and seasonal plants are also available. If you're driving past, consider stopping in to check out the inventory, your pets will thank you.

Customer service has gone downhill since Amber and her staff are no longer there. New employees are not very knowledgeable and don't load the heavy bags.When Amber was there we never had to ask, they were more then happy to help. And were able to answer questions regarding proper care of animals. They knew the stock and what was the best value.
