Took our very well trained, incredibly sweet/gentle dog to get his nails trimmed here. He got a little anxious and peed a little and because of this they refused to give us service after we waited to get him in. Waste of time driving here. Don’t bother taking your dog here unless they are 100% perfect 100% of the time apparently…

Unfortunately, upon trying to return an unused item with tags still on, I was told it was not possible. I had exceeded by a week or so a store's policy of returns accepted within 60 days. I inquired if I could get a store credit for the amount of the item, but was told no. We are new to Petco and were not aware of such a short return time policy. I assume it's stated on the receipt, but I wish clerk at time of purchase had informed us of such a short return time policy. Please note that this return policy issue in no way influences our full satisfaction with the puppy training with which we've been involved for the past few weeks. The training has been awesome!Thank you.

Had an appt last weekend to have our dog bathed and nails clipped, because we are out of town I had my son bring her in, shortly after he called me and told me that they requested I pay the bill with Apple Pay which I do not have , I called the store and got ahold of Mae who said she was a manager, I explained the situation and she got very rude and told me Apple Pay or nothing , I explained I could pay with PayPal or Venmo or send a check or they just would not get paid right then, she immediatley told me she would call the police and charge me with theft by services, if there is such a thing, I asked her if she was going to hold my dog hostage or what, I never tried to get away without paying , I just wanted to find a solution for this unusual situation , it seems unusual they would not take a credit card over the phone, companies do this all the time , she said it was for my protection and said she was done arguing with me on the phone and hung up. Pretty bad customer service by Mae and totally not willing to work out anything just wanted to charge me with “theft by services” I’ m a very long time customer with this petco but I guess they don’t care . I also called their corporate and filed a complaint and got no response

Customer service needs to be better. When we go to a store we don’t normally shop at, we expect to be helped in a kind manner. The employee last night was not professional at all, and pointed at where things were like we knew where the product was. Was also (almost) denied a sale because he needed video proof of the size of our tank for a king betta. I get that, I work with animals but not believing the size that we say and saying “no” and turning your back on us is extremely disrespectful! My significant other said the wrong tank size at first, and the employee made it a big deal stating “oh so now the size of your tank is bigger” The whole experience was awful I can’t even explain it all in detail. The only reason why we would go there is for a king betta, nothing else. Work on your customer service because snarky sarcasm is not the correct way to treat anyone!

For a big box store it's good. I do get my pet vaccines and it is fast cheap and easy. Best price on cat litter. Dog food is a little high on some brands.

We just finished our Puppy class at Petsmart. Joanne the teacher is amazing! Joanne is so knowledgeable with the dogs and ALWAYS has a suggestion on any problem I’m having with training. My dog Lily LOVES her teacher. The class was only 5 students and I feel we all got equal attention. Lily leaned so much. She now sits, shakes, lays down, comes, leave it, drop it, and much more. It’s great to have a trained pup! Don’t miss out on miss Joanne’s classes! We are signed up to start our next class in two weeks. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Such a cool place if youre planning on looking for pets. Employees were nice and helpful. Parking is very easy. All the animals looked healthy. No dead fishes in all of the tanks. Everything is very well maintained. Highly suggest coming here.

Overall this is a decent location. I have only speed here for dog supplies occasionally. The store has a relatively small footprint and can feel a little cramped. The employees have generally been kind and helpful.

I went for a vet appointment and they were taking walk in, lines of people waiting and I came 10 minutes early as requested, stressed my pet out so bad I had to leave.. never again!

The person who answered the phone was super rude and made me feel so dumb for my questions. I will 100% recommend the Apple Valley Petco, as their staff was super sweet and help answer my questions and guide me to where I could further assistance! Awful experience here, and unfortunately not the first time either with this location.

Got what I needed out of the place. Young lady at the counter asked if I wanted to sign up for the free program and all I told her was that I wasn’t interested. She gave the biggest sigh I’ve ever heard like I just ruined her whole day because of it lol… I get customer service sucks dude but damn, misdirected much?

I recently went to petco to get a hamster. The store was understaffed and Javier was the person that was helping us while going between checking out the other customers Javier handled the situation wonderfully and i have an issue with not speaking up and when I realized he had packed up the wrong hamster and told him he handled it very well while under the stressful situation

Two star deduction because in store prices are not the same as online. They do price match, including themselves, but you have to know it's cheaper online. Check before you checkout, saved 43$. (Which was more than my total ended up being.)

Teen at front started asking me a bunch of questions about what I am looking for in a betta. When I said I had a 3 gal aquarium he said a betta requires at least 5 gal. I said I’d be buying it anyway. Then he told me he’d refuse to sell me. $7 betta if I don’t buy a 5 gal aquarium. I don’t need a 16 year old power trip going to a pet store I’ll shop elsewhere from now on. How many animals die at pet I every day?! You think you’re doing a better job?

Horrific experience, even worse customer service! Save your time, money, and sanity (yours and your dog’s) by using actual training services!!!After attending a class with the out-of-touch Senior Trainer Diannah on 09/05/2023, I contacted Petco Customer Service on 09/06/2023 to discuss the previous day’s traumatizing events for my puppy. Petco’s website advertises “At our in-person puppy group training sessions, our expert dog trainers also leave plenty of time for puppy socialization and playtime.” Yet, Diannah stated the three rules of her class as being “1. Dogs are never off leash. 2. Dogs are never within three feet of each other. 3. There are no stupid questions.”. I asked Petco Customer Service for clarification on Petco’s actual policy and noted that this question was especially important as Diannah was training two new Petco dog trainers and her policies seemed in complete contrast with Petco’s stated class takeaways. I also took the time to explain that Diannah’s policy put my puppy in a terrible position. It left her scared of the other two large-breed puppies who spent most of the class barking at her as Diannah tossed them handfuls worth of treats as “positive reinforcement for sitting quietly”. Unfortunately, my puppy spent the class cowering in fear beneath my legs. Her training amounted to a total of two minutes practicing responding to her name or learning to sit. She was also afforded the opportunity to practice “come” twice during the session. On the other hand, Diannah spent an hour and fifteen minutes of class singing her own praises and making snarky comments about past class participants under the guise of her being “cheeky”. Puppies are resilient and I have already taken the time to research and sign up for training with a competent trainer so my little gal’s experience will, hopefully, be forgotten shortly. However, I feel for the puppies, dogs, and owners who are left in the hands of such a poor excuse for a “Senior Trainer” and the new trainers that she is instructing incorrectly.As far as the “customer service” I have experienced, it has been abysmal. After being told to “stay by the phone” on 09/06/2023, I have followed up with Petco each day. On 09/07/2023, I was told that I would receive a call by 11:17am on 09/08/2023 but this did not occur. On 09/08/2023, after not receiving the promised 11:17am call, I called customer service and was told that I would be receiving a call from Petco’s general manager for the store, but this has yet to occur. I have also failed to receive any follow-up after requesting a refund on my training session. Today, 09/11/2023, I was finally escalated to a “premier support specialist” who informed me that they had the wrong phone number for follow-up. I reminded her that I had provided the number to their agents three times by this point, but she seemed unbothered by this major lapse in their system. This “premier support specialist” then told me that I should expect a follow-up call shortly. I asked for a timeline and was told to expect a call within 72 hours. Again, she seemed unbothered by this disgusting failure of Petco’s so-called customer service. I continue to wait by the phone as Diannah traumatizes others and strokes her own ego.

Still supporting the destruction of reef systems I see. I what to know how a chain store justifies carrying live salt water. When 90% of your stores can barely keep fresh water alive. Leave reptiles and fish to local guys that know what they are doing.

Today 4/25/23 I was in at the Eagan Petco location looking to buy a beta fish for my parents a 15th anniversary gift and a young employee repeatedly told me I couldn’t buy a multitude of items specifically for beta fish. She was disrespectful and condescending speaking to me in a way that belittled me. Not only was I going to buy a fish but other items and because I said I have some more supplies at home she refused to sell to me. Between aquatic and dog items my sister and I were going to spend over $300 USD. I will be telling other friends and family not to go to this location. I’ve never had a problem with Petco in the past and have had very successful aquariums. I will also be contacting a manager or district advisor because the tone of this employee was completely and utterly disrespectful.

I love going to this location! I was in tonight needing some help with my daughter's leopard gecko and the woman I talked to was so informative and helpful. I am so grateful! Cashier was great too, even after I had to go through the line again after forgetting something.

I love this location and especially love their staff. They are much more knowledgeable than even local mom and pop fish stores (which often times are just out to make money) and keep tanks clean. Their fish are healthy and their aquatic plant selection is awesome. Sales associate Kelli helped me out the other day and even though it was twenty minutes until they closed she took her time and was an absolute sweetheart. Keep up the excellent work- you all deserve a raise!
