Charlie can be very difficult to deal with, especially when trimming his nails! Max and Callie are patient, experienced and very reasonably priced. They have been our go to groomers ever since they took over ownership of La Pooch a few years back

I give them an overgrown matted mess of a dog and a couple hours later they give me a happy good looking doggy back. I appreciate their understanding and judgment free attitude as I feel bad bringing him in that way sometimes. I'm talking about a big ball of fur here. When I come pick him up he looks amazing and happy. Their attention to how hair grows and how they cut it is awesome. I am always very pleased with "CHIPS" look when he is done. Thank you guys for your flexibility and talent. It is the only place I will bring him.

We've brought our dog here a couple times now and will certainly be returning in the future! We have always had great experiences and our pup always looks excellent when we pick her up. Owners are very friendly as well and know what they're doing. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a groomer in the area!

Brought my toy poodle there today, and when I entered the place it looked unkept and had foul urine smell. I didn't feel right leaving my puppy there, but gave them the benefit of the doubt. I requested about an inch cut all around, and when I returned he presented my puppy with an awful cut and her face wasn't even done right - very short and uneven.

Called Monday and was able to get my Maltese-Yorkie mix, Owen, in for a cut on Tuesday. Owen had gone to Dogs at Play previously, and every time after an appointment he would be depressed and lethargic, even sensitive to touch.His first appointment was scheduled with Max, who went out of his way to discuss my grooming goals for Owen. My dog was shaking from nerves when I left, and when I came to pick him up, he was happy & well groomed. Not traumatized like in previous experiences! Max told me Owen even jumped up on his lap.Max was even kind enough to discuss my future goals for my dog's coat, which was much appreciated. I will be taking him back here!

I loved La Pooch! But I did not appreciate how they ended their business. We went there religiously with our dog for 4 years and I went to make our next appointment and nobody answered or returned our calls. I then heard through a grape vine that they were closing. Out of respect for customers, it would have been nice to be acknowledged that you were closing your business when you knew in advanced rather then just ignoring them.

I love the staff and always happy with services. I have 2 Poodles with high grooming needs and they are so wonderful and my dogs love going there and happy to be there. Highly recommend!

Been bringing our Rottweiler here since he was a lil pup and the workers here are second to none. They take the time to get to know you and your animal. Wouldn't dare bring my dog anywhere else!

Since my last review on 10/16/19 was deleted I thought I’d repost my review. I have been bringing my dog to La Pooch since he was just over one year old to get his nails clipped. He is now 7 years old and I was just told that they can't handle my 90lb lab any longer when he was there just 5 weeks ago to get his nails clipped. I have been told on almost every visit he's gotten his nails clipped he is a good dog and he basically stands there like a statue for the 3 minutes that it takes to get his nails clipped. Every time I call to make an appt whoever answers is typically short and unfriendly on the phone. I brought my dog in on a past appt about 15 minutes early and stood in the front waiting area and the owner yelled at me that I couldn't be early. The only reason I am writing this review is because my dog has dark quicks and they always get them short as they can without making him bleed but find their customer service poor, their service lazy and the excuse that my dog is hard to handle completely out of line when I can say that my dog is more mellow than most dogs regardless the size. I now recommend Lisa’s Fabulous Paws also in Cottage Grove. She was super friendly and more than welcoming to me, my dog and more than appreciated our business.

Our family has been taking our dogs here ever since they were puppies. One is 6 and the other is 4. They look great every single time. They are fresh, clean, and soft. Great customer service in my opinion.

Dutch loves the staff here. They are great with all the Matting our little rascal has. And let you know where so we can better brush him. Only issue our guys nails were so sharp he cut me. We had to file them when we got home.

I take my dogs here because they are local. Service has always been pleasant and flexible. My only gripe is the fee for using my bank card. Other than that, they do a great job on my tea cup yorkie and believe me, it can't be very easy due to his very small size.

We have been to this groomer 2 times in the past. I would say that both times previous were good. We brought our dog in this week and i was 15 minutes(more like 10 but I will round up) late as we had a 2 Yr old hide the car keys on us. Upon arrival I was greeted by a very snarky women named pam who was anything but welcoming. She scolded me for being late and acted very put out by my tardiness. After multiple apologies from me she still was obviously upset. We discussed the grooming that we would like and I went on my way. I called my wife to explain what happened only to find out the groomer had already gave my wife the same attitude on the phone prior to my arrival.Our dog was not given the cut we discussed. She was to be cut to 3/4" and when we got her back she was shaved! We were given no explanation for this. My wife picked her up and just thought I must have changed the grooming plan.We might have caught her on a bad day... we should have been on time.... Either way this was very poor customer service.

We love La' Pooch!! Pam always does such a great job on mylie! She always has cute bows in her hair and smells amazing when i pick her up. They also do a great job with her nails!! I moved in to minneapolis and i still drive all the way out to cottage grove just to bring her to la' pooch! I would recommend La' pooch to everyone!

My dog had bald spots were it was close the skin and spots where there was long hair left. Also don't think his nails were even cut. Was not very friendly either! We won't be back.

Got kicked out of here, because my dog has extreme anxiety (over the top) about having a nail trim. We now go to Lisa's Fabulous Pets, and she is a 10 star rating.

They are rude. been there twice.. i only did cause i thought we would have better service. But then they said my sweet innocent tiny dog is dangerous.. far from it.. he loves people.. alot! He wouldnt ever hurt anyone. and they continue to tell me my dog should go to school ( which he did when he was younger for potty training). I believe any dog that isnt used to a groomer will not want to have their face and feet trimmed. I thought they were trained to deal with that.. I guess not. So im not bringing my dog where he is treated well and wanted. We gave them two changes. We will bring business another place that will treat us and our family dog with respect.

I bring my yellow lab there and my gsd one year old and they do such a good job for me. They are awesome. I drive 45 mins to them and so worth the drive.

This is a wonderful place to take my pups in to get cleaned up. They're always happy to go there and come home looking/smelling great. Pam is always a pleasure to see!
