I went to the pet shop and the people were working were very nice but I thought the tanks are gross. I have been to a lot and f pet stores and their tanks are clean. I could even see some neon tetras they had in their tank. I get they out stuff on or in the tank for them as wood and plants but I do want to see the fish I am buying especially when there is a no refund policy. There was also a a lot green algae on the tanks. I felt bad for the fish. I took these photos quickly just to show my daughter but here are just a few. If they tanks for a bit more cleaner it would be a great place.

Before, I'd go to other shops and purchase Cardinal Tetras. Unfortunately, they would not last more than a week even though my parameters and conditions are set.So I told myself that I would stop buying Cardinal Tetras as they are very delicate and difficult to keep.Then my co-worker referred Quality Aquatics, so I ventured out to see the shop.The staff are very knowledgeable and honest. They told me that their Cardinal Tertas are wild caught and are treated. So I end up purchasing 20 of the Tetras to try my luck, again.It's been over a month and a half, those same Tetras I've purchased are still alive and are thriving well. Despite their distance from the metro area, it was worth the drive and every penny.Highly recommend it.Thank You, Quality Aquatics!

We were here to buy some plants for our 6 year olds new beta fish tank. I didn't get his name, but the gentleman who helped us was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable! Also, there were soooo many different types of fish. They all looked very healthy! Very impressed.

Quality aquatics has a wonderful selection of fish. The aquariums were clean. The fish were happy and healthy. I bought 3 cory Dora's and a variety of tiger barbs. All at very fair prices. The tiger barbs were small but after 3 weeks they've grown A LOT. All of the fish I purchased were healthy, vibrant, brightly colored and shiny...fantastic specimens of their respective species. I am VERY happy with their tanks, the quality of fish I brought home and the temperament of the fish as well. I will be shopping here often they're prices were very fair. I truly felt for the first time in a long time that I wasn't overcharged for my fishes. They even had my favorite aquarium tool that was discontinued years ago!!!! I left ecstatic!

First time visitor today! First time customer today! Probably the best selection thus far of freshwater fish / aquatics. Traveled nearly a hour each way for this visit. I have been to a couple of fish stores this week looking for a certain fish. Needless to say they had what I have been looking for! Don't back down because they are only open Friday - Sunday. Make the trip if your looking for something particular!

Really nice staff, willing to take the time and help even though the store was really busy. Had a wide variety of fishes, even some that are not found at big named stores. Lots of selection for live plants also. Has plenty of natural decorations for tanks. Did not find any synthetic decorations though. Great place for almost anything needed for your aquarium

Wonderful fish store. Great fish quality and highly knowledgeable people who own the store. They are very honest and won’t try to sell you just anything. They will ask questions and make sure your tank is ready, and they will do free water testing!

I come in once a month maybe 6x depending on the season! I have a forever pet with my fahaka puffer & I’m obsessed! I switch up decor and they provide all of my needs! If I request something they will help me and order in. This should forever be the metros LOCAL FISH STORE! They also to reality and nothing is better to deal with a hobbyist when purchasing a home. Also my son’s 4 years old now and he’s been coming here since he was 1 month old it’s a tradition & never fails.. I can go on & on about the fish quality just remember puffers come with all types of parasites they cleaned him out and he’s doing amazing.Also have community tank 75gallon with 9 keyhole Chiclids etc. will send link with videos in future!

I've been to all the fish stores in the twin cities and this is by far the most well stocked in fresh water fish. Everything was extremely healthy and staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this place if your looking for healthy fish. Prices were the best I've seen too.

I purchased four Blue Acara Cichlids on my first visit. The guys working were friendly and knew what they were talking about. As others have stated, there are no refunds but I was told that they quarantine all of their fish before they are available for purchase. All four of mine look healthy after a month in the aquarium. I will definitely be back again.

If anyone is looking for a cool pet store with high quality imported flowrhorn I'd try quality aquatics in Circle Pines!! They are only 80$ and easily 150$ fish. They also found out my flowerhorn had a bloated stomach and may have parasites. Owner's wife I believe it was made a cocktail of medicine to feed to my fish. Within 3 hours his stomach was gone!! They also have amazing customer service. Ended up also buying a florida gar, clown knife and pirhanna for way cheaper then their competitors. Drove almost an hour there and will be back! Thank

I got my German Blue Ram from there and they're still alive. They know what they're doing. My other Ram I got from wet world died due to a parasite that came with it. Quarantine is important.

Came for a betta. They take care of them so well compared to other fish stores. They're all in their own filtered tank, or with some other safe tank mates so you know which Bettas can be in a community. Gorgeous fish I found

Really appreciate having a quality fish store nearby. The staff are nice and helpful. My 5 year old pestered them with questions and they took it all in stride. They’re very knowledgeable and passionate about fish and educating others so they can care for them properly too. For those commenting saying the tanks are “dirty” - what most people don’t realize is that algae is a healthy part of a freshwater ecosystem and all species benefit from some of it. It is detrimental to keep your tank sparkly clean.. Think about the fish you see in bodies of water, they’re in/around plants and algae. The big box pet stores don’t care about this, which is why every time you walk in fish are dead in several tanks and/or die quickly. Furthermore, several species require brackish waters which have naturally occurring sediment and darker lighting conditions. I believe their non refund policy is appropriate because they know they’re providing the best care possible for their fish, they make sure the person purchasing the fish and inverts are informed on how to provide best care and the rest is out of their hands. Most, if not all fish deaths that occur are likely the result of the person purchasing them (not acclimating to tank properly or improper water parameters/care) rather than purchasing something ill to begin with. All this to say I used to purchase things from Ohio because it was one of the few places I trusted for quality but now that I’ve discovered this place, I’ll be going here. Wish they were open more days of the week but that’s okay.

Visited for the first time today, Lots of very interesting species at very reasonable prices, seems family owned and operated and all their fish are very clearly incredibly well taken care of, I was able to get 12 ghost shrimp for $2.50, on average they are 59 cents per shrimp at petco or petsmart and that’s if they have them, ghost shrimp are exceedingly hard to find for their hardiness, cheap price, cleaning capabilities and being an inexpensive live feeder, as such they are typically bought out within a few days of a shop getting them, i saw around 5-6 in the two separate tanks, they were extremely picked clean, but since they sell them by the dozen the very nice and helpful clerk picked extra shrimp that were in other tanks for feeders to get me the desired quantity, so a shrimp I have had a lot of trouble finding and for an extremely fair price, all the fish were either one/two to a tank of schooled together for community fish, unlike your average chain pet store with multiple random species stuck together, these fish and invertebrates are very clearly well separated and taken care of, I drove to circle pines from St. Paul just to visit and I absolutely recommend it to anybody interested in the aquarist hobbyEdit: On a second visit I purchased multiple things, including a Male/Female pair of some beautiful guppies and a Vampire shrimp, I have been looking for a vampire shrimp all over the twin cities, Quality Aquatics is the only Fish store I have visited that has had vampire shrimp so I was very happy to see them, and upon purchasing the guppies, The lady, I unfortunately did not catch her name but she is the wife/mother I believe, went out of her way to get an extremely pregnant looking female, the next morning I counted 11 individual baby guppies, of course no extra charge for the pregnancy, I can’t guarantee they will all survive to adulthood but in my mind i got like 6x my moneys worth of fish, Having visited most fish stores in the twin cities area, I would easily put Circle Pines Quality Aquatics in my top 2, if you ever have some free time, I highly suggest a visit, even if you don’t make a purchase, the selection just to browse is stellar

Great experience, knowledgeable staff that were honest about not knowing some specific subjects. Will come back to get some more aquarium needs. Also had UNS substrate which was very nice. The bettas here have the most space i've seen so far to swim in with good lighting to show them off. Betta selections were low when I went but hoping to see more next time!It should be known that the place does not do replacements or returns, there's signs all over the place on this. If they treat one person differently then they have treat everyone the same, they just stick to their rule. Not hard to understand and they will even tell you before buying that they just received the fish and you are taking a higher risk. Its live animals and you cant make everyone happy.

I absolutely love this fish shop. I have to drive 35-40 minutes to get there and still go just to look at what they have. I got my Giant Betta here (admittedly I didn't even know they existed until I got here), and he's not only huge, but beautiful and healthy.

Fantastic collection of, small, large, unique, and common fish. With their friendly staff, it's a welcoming place as a beginner in this hobby. They seem knowledgeable and willing to answer questions about anything. While they have limited hours, I am happy to ignore the big box stores to support local.
