I'm generally positive about ratings but I was very impressed with the service and room here. While my initial room was over booked, I was given another room very convenient, clean, and at an affordable rate. I liked it so much that I stayed an extra night. They were pet friendly, kind, and the area was super quiet. It was like a true mini vacation. Yes, I recommend them and will use them again.Rooms: The rooms are clean, cool, with all the necessary amenities. Across the street is a Kwik Trip travel stop with delivery services and many other doordash availabilities. There is a laundry, soda and snack machine and free ice. Rooms have television, microwave, iron, fridge and Wi-Fi. Disability access, quiet, and peaceful.Nearby activities: Casino is a block away.Safety: Rooms are secure.Walkability: You can walk across the street to the travel center.Food & drinks: Snacks and sodas on site.

I was very pleased with The staff that helped me check in she was very nice. As for the room that’s another story. First off, The bathroom tub was disgusting paint was coming off the walls and ceiling look like it was going to come in because it was waterlogged or something also the Shampoo and cream rinse we’re fine but the lotion you got was used instead of new. The bathroom floor was not cleaned and there was so much build up on the shower head.In the room it smelt musty and the bed didn’t look like it had fresh sheets and pillow cases on it. The floor still has a little bit of garbage on it. The chair looked like someone either peeped in it or I don’t want to know….The bed was very uncomfortable and the pillows couldn’t of been more lumpy. The little refrigerator was dirty. When you pay over 100 dollars for one night stay you would think you would get more the a room worth it not worth 25 dollar a night room.I will never recommend this place to anyone.

We stayed at the royal pines Inn right next door. Which I can't write a review for so I'm putting it here. It was DISGUSTING. Reaked like cigarettes. We found prep H under the bed. Loose benadryls on the floor. Dirty, smelly. The neighbor (?) Who lives right next door was super loud, rude and smelly. There was a creepy stool outside the back window like someone can look in. I will NEVER reccomend this place. It was like a crack head motel.

Room was small and cramped with two people, pool not available. Breakfast bar but no breakfast. Furniture worn, and dented. It did have a small refrigerator and a microwave. I had to lift arm straight up in order to use remote for tv.Nearby activities: Jay cook state park a couple miles away, Duluth 25 miles. Black bear casino across road.

The staff is outstanding, and accommodate whatever one needs. It is not a Hilton, so that is why the rates are great and competitive with other Hotels. After Covid, many Motels have maintenance issues with their Pools, or no Continental Breakfast due to big Corporations not willing to invest into their business.. but the staff at this location is excellent.

Absolutely disgusting! If you give this place a 5 star it obviously says a lot about how you view yourself and your standards. Place legit looks like an old jail on the inside. 2023 and there’s a 1985 window AC unit in there that’s dirty and discolored. Went to the casino and got to my room at 3am; walked inside and said “HECK NO” and made the 2 1/2 hour drive back home at 3:30am. I really really would like my money back. Joke of a place!

BEWARE… this is not an AmericanInn by Wyndham!I told my husband when we pulled up it wasn’t gonna be good. There were about five cars in the lot and almost every window you looked at had curtains falling off.I will say the desk people and folks on the phone wonderfully polite. However that is not enough to carry this hotel. We were assigned to a dirty room that didn’t even have the bed made or the bathroom cleaned. They promptly apologized and sent us to another room. The rooms are dark and dingy. Old dinged up furniture. Uncomfortable bed. I did not feel comfortable at all. But we tried to make the best of it and headed off to the Casino. When we got back that evening probably the same five cars were still in the lot no more people, no surprise! When we woke in the morning and decided to shower, the water was bright orange probably due to the iron? in the area. It never ran clear and I couldn’t even pull up the handle to make the shower work. All gunked up with lime? That was about all we could take we checked out super early. I told them at the desk I would appreciate some sort of adjustment or something because this whole trip was a bit of a disaster. They were kind enough to not charge us for the evening and were apologetic. That one star is really for maintaining their professional attitude. But you really can’t run a hotel like that and expect to charge $95 a night. Also change the name of your hotel and don’t ride on the name of a hotel that has a pretty decent reputation.

Decent enough accommodations but here's why it wasn't rated better; We arrived in our room and there where 2 or 3 bugs on the pillow. Not bed bugs, but still. They promptly took care of it.Ice maker in the hallway was out of order. The hot tub was out of order.Breakfast eating area was crowded.Biscuits and gravy were cold. The location was great, suited our needs and the staff was very helpful. Breakfast selection was typical; waffles, fruit, muffins, cereal, eggs, etc. Pool temperature was great.

Room had all of the necessities including a mini fridge. It would have been nice to have a couple more outlets by the bed. It was also missing a comfortable chair. We loved that the pool was open to adults until 1 am while sitting down to kids at 10. It's always nice to get some swimming in without being splashed in the face. Breakfast was great. All of the staples: waffles, biscuits and gravy, bagels, fruit, etc. The staff was also very friendly. It was only 20 minutes to downtown Duluth so the price was right for us!

Prices are low which is nice, and everything appears to be fancy and well decorated. But our rooms toilet and tub were very stained. The breakfast had waffles (no mix left), bagels, gross sausage (only two left), and frozen tasteless egg circles. The main reason we checked in was to sit in the hot tub after work. We checked in, left and worked, and came back to a cold hot tub and freezing pool. The heater was broken and nobody told us when we checked in. Now I get why prices are so low, very disappointed

Room was a bit dated with a smaller TV. The bed was hard and the pillows lacked fill. The pool was nice, open late. A sign mentioned any discoloration is due to well water and iron which I totally get. Kids out by 10, adults only until 1am! Breakfast was plenty fine. The juice was pretty watery.

The pool was disgusting, like it hasn't been cleaned in at least 10 years. My husband went to the front desk to ask about the wifi and the guy got really irritated. We had to go back to the front desk again because there was a half eaten pizza in our room fridge. The bed was quite uncomfortable. The iron was old and had build up on it and the shower was very stained and water pressure was minimal. All of that and it cost over $100/night. I definitely would not recommend.

I wasn't expecting much for a little hotel up north, but we were very pleasantly surprised! The room was very nice, we got the room with the hot tub. Everything was very clean, and the staff in the evening and the morning were both super pleasant and helpful. And the breakfast they offer was way more than expected for free! Eggs, and waffles and cereal, and the coffee was terrific! I would book there again, no question. Nice job AmericInn!

We were attending a wedding nearby and stayed in Carlton. Although it is slightly outdated, the rooms and facilities were clean. Front desk was very nice and helpful. They had a great breakfast and the pool is open until 10 for kids and 1 am for adults. Overall great experience

I paid for a standard room which when I arrived was referred to as economy and after seeing to room I see why as it was tiny. The shower didn't work and I was given a key to shower in another room until my shower was fixed. My room rate was discounted for that day only. The mattress was not clean and my bed was not made properly for my 2nd night and dirty towels were left lying around. The reception desk staff were very friendly and helpful. There is another AmericInn nearby that is only $5 more a night and well worth it. The breakfast there is a little nicer also.

The jacuzzi suite was awesome! Honestly, better than expected for the great price! You could hear everything in the hallway if the TV wasn't on, but what hotel isn't that a slight issue in? My man proposed before we checked in and the hotel put out the rose petals that his florist delivered. It was so romantic!!! Thank you and we will definitely stay again. Also, the woman on the phone when we booked and checked in was beyond nice and so easy to talk to. She was part of the reason I booked this room. Thank you!!!

Room was clean, but you could tell the hotel was older. Some of the paint was chipping in the bathroom. Again, linen was clean, but well used. A hot continental breakfast was included. Seating in the breakfast area was limited, so we ended up bringing breakfast back to our room.

After a scary night at Motel 6 in Duluth, my husband and I rolled into the AmericInn at 4am! They deeply discounted the room for us and we finally got some sleep. The facilities were immediately more up to date and clean. We should have come here to begin with. Breakfast was greatly good!

Good average motel. We thought a bit expensive at $130. The room had all the current necessities, microwave, fridge, tv, desk with power outlets, good lighting, good WiFi. The bath closet(can't call it a room) is almost dangerously small, about 16 sq. ft. The beds were comfy. We skipped the "free" Breakfast in the tiny breakfast room with very limited choices by 0930. We did not use any other amenities.

A little high on the price end, however we were in the area for an event! I loved the Jets in the hot tub in the pool area. The breakfast was decent, a few hot food options. And the shower had wonderful water pressure which I appreciated!

Great location with easy access to Jay Cooke State Park and I35. Pleasant stay, but noticeably older facilities (everything was clean, just looked a bit old). Good breakfast, but not enough seating. We wound up bring breakfast back to our room. Had waffles, cereal, fruit, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, yogurt, oatmeal, juice. Coffee was subpar.

We checked in here to avoid a smoking hotel. Older with some updates. Thank goodness I didn’t send my girls straight to bed. As they ate a snack we noticed a BED BUG going across the bed. We checked the other bed and on the sheets was “rust” stain. We checked out & stayed in Black Bear tower - beautiful & could barely smell the smoke (Tuesday night) BTW The gentlemen at the front desk was super nice & shocked. Swear he wanted to help pack us up . The lady (night shift ) tried to upgrade us & wasn’t surprised at all - obviously knows they have bed bugsGrossed out and we did take a photo!!!!

Hotel was nice, had a pool and the rooms were clean. Only problem was the breakfast. When I went down at 9 A.M. with the kids most of it was gone and I let the staff know. 30 minutes later and they didn't bring anything out, not even food items that didn't have to be prepared. Disappointed.
