I unfortunately cannot recommend this particular Petco grooming location. We have been bringing our Cavapoo in for a while, and had normal, positive experiences, until we were working with one particular individual with blue hair that created such a negative experience that we had to switch groomers.We had a scheduled haircut, which had been cancelled, so we had to push it back a couple weeks to find a new time that worked with our schedule.We brought our dog in at the scheduled time, only to be lectured (before she even tried to cut his hair) that since we waited 10 weeks to get him in, rather than 8 weeks, we were "neglecting" our dog and that it could be considered "abuse" in the state of Minnesota as we went too long in between time for haircuts.We love our dog dearly, and he has 100% never been abused nor neglected. We brush him multiple times a week, and his matting is usually non-existent - besides a few snarls that appear right as he is about to go in. Just because we didn't go that specific 8th week doesn't equate to him not being taken care of. Funny enough, after she finished grooming him, she acknowledged that she didn't have to do any shaving due to matting.However, after this ridiculous accusation, we chose to take him elsewhere. Unsurprisingly, the new place - a more professional grooming studio - said that we had brought him at a perfect time, as we were able to minimize matting.Throwing out those kinds of accusations is no way to run a business. Our dog has been cared for, regularly groomed, and there was honestly no justification. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Had a good experience last time, but this time my dog's cut wasn't nearly as good, with uneven cuts on my dog's body that weren't cleaned up, like they rushed. I was also told it would take 1 to 1.5 hrs and it took 2.5 hrs, so i was late for another commitment.To top it off, I was charged $28 additional for the "Holiday Upgrade" package, which at Christmas included extras like sugar cookie pet cologne, paw treatment, and a holiday bandana or bow. I didn't authorize this treatment, but let it go when I noticed it at the register because it was an ok add on previously. This time, there didn't appear to be anything additional done and she didn't get a bow or bandana. Not sure why I was upcharged then? My daughter picked the dog up while I paid, so I didn't realize this until she brought her out to the car. Disappointed for sure. I had even given a nice tip, expecting it would be good results like last time.

The groomer was great. However, I was bullied by a Petco store associate because I couldnt afford to tip the groomer. I am a Petco vital care member and am planning to cancel my membership due to this incident. I am very disappointed in Petco.

I wouldn’t recommend taking your fur babies here. First time I brought them here, I will admit they were extremely matted so when the “sweet” groomer told me they were a bit “aggressive” (which btw NO ONE has ever told me this about either of my babies) I believed her given the circumstances. She said she wasn’t able to do their faces or paws which I said was okay because of what she had told me. Second time though, she said the same thing that they were AGGRESSIVE AND NIPPY and didn’t touch their faces AT ALL. I let it go again but it just didn’t sit right with me because they WERENT matted and like I mentioned, I have had NO complaints about by babies. They get a bit nervous near their face but literally every groomer they’ve had (and they’ve been groomed plenty) have NEVER had a problem with them much less have said they’re “aggressive” and “nippy”. I feel like they have no patience whatsoever with dogs and I would’ve trust them touching my babies again, especially because some of the previous reviews have mentioned being told the same thing about their dogs.

I had to reschedule due to bad weather and they were able to get me at the same time the following week. My dog was extremely happy when I arrived! Her fur was very soft, shiny, and fluffy! This was probably the best grooming job she's ever had!

It was my dogs first time going to them for grooming and I waited a month for an appointment. When we walked in my dog was a little nervous and they said they couldn’t take her. The other dog that was there they were very rough with as well then called the owner in front of me and said they have to come pick the dog up immediately because it was “aggressive” even though they were pulling on the poor dogs hair. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Felt like the groomer had made up her mind before even starting and was pushing us away from giving the dog a full body hair cut because it was our first time there and the dog might be too nervous on her first visit. Only feet and face were trimmed and she was bathed and we could've done all that at home, but we weren't comfortable giving her whole body a trim which is why we brought her in. At the end of the day the dog didn't get a haircut which is what we wanted and brought her in for, so in the end we have to take her to another groomer to get her coat trimmed.

I am not one to leave bad reviews, however this place is absolutely atrocious and I feel I have to. As a loving pet owner, I would never EVER take my dog here again. They used to have a kind and responsive groomer that would always take care of our dog, and now they have lazy, rude groomers who frankly, do not care about your pet. I have never seen such awful behavior from a company that is supposed to care and love all pets. We took our dog there and he left with several broken bloody nails, completely shaved ears, and was completely traumatized. Absolutely shameful and ignorant workers. Do not take your pets here.

Groomer was kind, professional, and cheerful. My Golden retriever is nearly 13 years, and was not afraid. The groomer was gentle. Nails and Paws look great. I'll be back, unless my dog goes to heaven instead!

Kim took the time to be sure she understood how I wanted Lexi to be groomed. She found detailed notes from Lexi's previous groomer (retired) and followed them. She asked about any special needs Lexi might have. All in all, a very good experience.

With COVID restrictions being lifted, I called and made an appointment for my dog to go to PETCO for a bath and a field cut/shave. Due to the rush of people attempting to get their pets groomed, I had to wait a couple weeks for an available time, which was expected. My dog usually went to PETCO twice a year for a full groom however, she will never be returning to PETCO again after today.On my way to the grooming appointment, 6 minutes before her scheduled appointment time, I received a call from PETCO stating they cannot see her because of a new policy in place where if your dog has ever had a seizure they cannot groom her. My dog had two seizures once when she was 1.5 and once when she was 3. Honestly I do not know if they were seizures, the vet never confirmed or denied if that is what it was due to it only lasting 15seconds and not recurring for the vat to witness it. Per the vet, she is a healthy 10 year old Springer mix and has not had any issues since. The fact PETCO called me 6 minutes before her appointment on Memorial Day to tell me she could not be seen was infuriating.PETCO knows how busy grooming is, if this is their policy that is fine but call your customers before they are on the way to your store with their pet. I could have made an appointment elsewhere weeks ago if I would have been contacted earlier. All PETCO kept saying was it is their new corporate policy and they are sorry. I am positive the policy did not change the day of my appointment, so why I was not notified earlier was majorly irritating.Since this is a corporate policy, I contacted the corporate office where PETCO confirmed it is a new corporate policy, but said it was up to each store on who they choose to see or not see for grooming appointments. To me, corporate just passed the blame on their store by saying this statement. What a mess this was. Not only does this show how poorly organized PETCO is, how little corporate takes responsibility, how irresponsible the grooming/leadership of the individual store is, but also how much PETCO really doesn’t care enough about their customers to contact them in advance to explain why they need to cancel an appointment.The store manager stated if I had a note or a phone call from the vet, they would still see my dog and groom her, but since her appointment was on Memorial Day, obviously all vets are closed today. Another great reason why, if PETCO cares, they would have contacted me earlier in the week to allow me time to get the needed approval from the vet to bring my dog in.Very disappointed in the professionalism of PETCO and not only will I not be returning here EVER, I will be sure to tell all 1500 people I work with monthly, all my friends and family, and anyone else interested in how PETCO handles their customers...just how horrible this experience has been.
