Would be fine if they actually cleaned the rooms. Shower head extremely old and crusted with lime buildup. Shower surround was dirty. Water pressure was good. Doesn't look like the room has really been cleaned in 6 or 7 years at least outside of a very-very quick wipe down at best. I was just happy the bed sheets appeared to be clean. Bed was actually comfortable.

This may not be a five-star hotel, but for what it is, I give it 4 stars. We stayed here for a hunting trip and it had everything we needed. Beds were comfy, the room was clean, and we had a great continental breakfast with plenty of options. The owner was very friendly and appreciative. Yes, I was bummed the hot tub and pool were not open, but when he told me that the estimate to get just the pool running was $100,000, I understand why!! I like to support small businesses and the family behind it, so I would stay here again.

There's not a lot in blackduck, so there's no reason to be fancy, but this place could use some cleaning up. Great rooms are great prices, but there are major concerns for me. The ice has white specks that stuck to my bottles. I'm glad I didn't drink with it. I knew better by the constant leak from the machine. The pool was also down, and that's always a bummer. There was also trash right in the back entry the whole time I stayed which would've been too easy to clean if the attendant did a quick walk through now and again. I would stay here again if needed though.

This place is a disaster. The second you walk in you see a big water heater in a wooden crate. As you walk to the desk you see papers all over the place, cupboard doors falling off, the drawers half put together, and a literal construction zone going on, it's a huge turn off. This is all before talking to the rude front desk person that explained I needed to pay $21 in cash because I had a 3rd person and I needed to pay. I asked if he accepted cards and he did not. I asked how I could get cash and he kept telling me he couldn't take a card. After all of that, he decided to then tell me that the pool and hot tub were closed as well as no breakfast will be served. He said that he could cancel my room but if he checked me in, I would not be refunded. I asked how I was supposed to know that the pool and hot tub was closed to which he pointed at a sign. Then he said since I'm only paying $61/night, that is why the pool and hot tub were closed as well as no breakfast. I explained that when I booked the hotel, I was told everything was working. He argued with me about that and then yelled at me for not understanding he couldn't accept cards since I had a 3rd party reservation. I finally decided this was not going to work and had him cancel the reservation. I worked with Expedia to get my the room refunded which finally did happen.Avoid this place at all costs. Even if they get the pool and hot tub fixed, the only people there were the people running it and now I know why. He is very rude and decided $21 was more important than me and didn't understand why we needed the pool, hot tub, and breakfast which were shown as an amenities.

This place was a train wreck the minute you walked in. Was told there was a pool and breakfast when booking. Pool has been closed for years. There was no breakfast served to guests because the kitchen is used to cook for the hotel staff’s family. Light not working in hotel room bathroom. Said something to the front desk, they handed us a light bulb and we had to change it out ourselves. Was told there was a BBQ area…I guess that’s the parking lot. Was charged $90 a night for false advertising.

* Pretty rough* - Stay elsewhere if you canThe price is low ($80 per night) for a reason. This hotel is in dire need of updates.Based on the website and email description, I was expecting a hot breakfast and access to a pool. Neither are available. The pool has been closed for 3 years. The hotel needs to update its description.The rooms are spacious, and that's about the only nice thing I have to say. The common areas smell like curry. I think the carpet, fixtures, etc. are from the 1970s. And the manager acts rudely toward the guests.

Pool has been closed for 10 years smelled like expired cheese in there no breakfast for 10 years still wouldn’t eat it cause I woundnt trust there food found cockroaches in my pillow case and bed bugs on the bed I was itching for the whole week. Absolutely not OSHA approved. There was food on the floor and no water in pool or hot tub since it opened. From my review it was an amazing stay. don’t come here. PLEASE DONT COME HERE PLEASE DONT.

Not what I expected from an AmericInn. Curry smell permeates the entire facility. Main lobby was like family’s personal space and laundry room. Owner was folding towels in there. No pool and no free breakfast which is advertised on their website. No discount for this which is false advertising. Argued about a AAA discount which they also advertise but didn’t honor. Room was very sub standard. Light didn’t work. Moldy caulk in tub and dirty. Rusty vents in bathroom. Worn and dirty carpet. AC that was not functioning properly. Hair dryer kept turning off. And worst of all a very dirty blanket on the bed. I couldn’t wait to get out of here and will never return. This place needs a complete updating of safety and sanitary conditions.

This hotel worked perfectly for what we needed. We were in town visiting family so we were basically gone all throughout the days but came back to sleep. The beds were comfortable with clean sheets. The air conditioning worked very well and the water pressure was very good compared to other hotels I've stayed in. The front desk attendant (who I'm assuming was the owner because we saw him every time we passed the desk) was very nice and up front about the pool being closed and there being no breakfast offered. There was a nice diner right next door that we went to for breakfast. Overall it was a pleasant experience and I would recommend this hotel to others.

BEWARE!!! This hotel is NOTHING like any of the photos. No pool, no hot tub, no lobby, no eating area. The smell was overwhelming, I can’t believe this hotel is still on any booking sites, much less associated with Wyndham.DON’T do it!!!

Stayed one night. Room was quiet, and sheets were clean, which is all we required after a very long day of driving. The owner at the front desk was friendly and wanted to make sure we had a comfortable stay. No pool or breakfast but that did not bother us one way or another. Definitely needs some updates, but was a good choice for the area and we are happy to support local business owners.

Room did not look or feel the cleanest the shower head was corroded and looked disgusting there was something gross on the wall. The microwave and fridge looked like they were left over from the 70s and were ready to die any minute the fridge was sitting on top of cardboard. Filthiest hotel ever !! Expired food on the breakfast menu. Toilet maybe never cleaned.Don't do it. Sleep under a tree before booking this one.Reported to Wyndham.

Looks like the owners live there. Where the continental breakfast should be is their personal kitchen smells like Indian food all the time,no pool. The owner was out doing yoga in the lobby. The place needs some maintenance. Gutters were falling down, the retaining wall has fallen down. The sheets were clean but $140 a night was a little steep for no breakfast and pool as they advertise.

We had great staff & wonderful stay. Location was great and for those who complain on small things. During a pandemic keeping a business like hotels open is the largest risk a person can take. And another thing is that you do get what you pay for. If you are looking for a 5 star hotel then drive further on and book a Marriott! At this point in time just be grateful that people are risking their lives to give travelers a safe place to stay!

Don’t do it! Looking forward to a nice evening in the hot tub and pool only to find out it’s closed due to “COVID”. Not as advertised. So at least we have continental breakfast like the website advertises…..NOPE. No breakfast due to “COVID”. Rip off bait and switch. Hotel needs updating really bad. How can this even be an AmericInn??? Disappointment all around.

The manager was amazing and down to earth. He joked with us and him and his wife were just smiles. It’s wonderful having a nice family owned business around. The breakfast was simple but I loved it, felt more like home. The rooms were very VERY clean. And I honestly loved the older look and feel of the hotel instead of the fancy modern ones. This felt so comfortable that I would of stayed for days. It’s right off the highway, with a restaurant in the parking lot if you don’t wanna go to far. It’s in a very small and quiet area, but it was so perfect and I will recommend to anyone heading out that way, and my father, boyfriend, and I will be back again in the fall!Stayed: March 28-29 2018.

The quality of the room was good for the price. On the surface, my room was good, although it's showing its age. Notably, the microwave and fridge should probably be updated. The good news is that there is a full continental breakfast that includes fresh waffles, sausage, eggs, and a variety of other options. O did not have time to experience the pool, but I peeked in and saw that it was 5 feet at the deepest part. I was also told that it closed at 10 PM. Overall, if you're looking for an affordable place to lay your head, then look no further then the Americinn.

If could give e it a zero, I would. Filthy establishment, slime on the pool, the hot tub was disgusting, and the staff is shady. The pillows are the worst I have ever seen, bring your own!! The breakfast was fine as long as you don't want to eat with anyone else. Not enough tables for guests....plan on bringing it back to your room.

The shower curtain had mold on it. The bathtub was gross, was not able to take a bath. Our air conditioner was so loud we couldn't sleep. The hair dryer didn't work. Would never stay there again, it smelled musty!!

We ran into the front Hallway with our dog because it was a tornado warning and there was hail and rain coming down making it unsafe to drive. We barely walked into the hotel when an employee runs towards us holding his hand up and saying no dogs.Absolutely no compassion here, when we weren’t looking to stay overnight but simply be protected from the elements in an area where there are very few buildings to take shelter in.
