I never feel the need to write a review like this but my son spent his Christmas gift money on a Pikachu rock statue here and when he got home to show me, the ear was broken off. I called the owner to see if we could come to some sort of agreement but he insisted my son dropped it. My son assured me he did not. My son was devistated and apparently this review is my only recourse. This item must have been cracked. Look at how clean the break is. I'd avoid this shop and their trinkets at all costs.

A must stop on the north shore! We stop here every time we come past, so much to look at. Jewelry is very fairly priced, especially seeing it is all made right there in the shop which is super cool. The owner Keith is a very nice guy and good to work with when it comes to custom pieces as well.

This store is a Must Stop for us whenever we hit the Superior area. Not only have they got wonderful art pieces and Tons of gorgeous rocks, the collection on show there is Spectacular. Seriously, go see it. Now. You'll thank me.

I love this place & I've been coming here for about 35+ years. Great selection of products. I always buy my butterflies from here. The owners are the sweetest people & are very helpful too! I highly recommend if you're in the North Shore area check this place out!

This place has been here for quite a while and sits very near a cabin where I stay at. I like to pop in here every once in a while to see what they have. I particularly like the display case with locally made jewelry (you have to ask). I’m also obsessed with the dragonfly fossils. I look at them each time I come in and wish they were mine…but they’re not for sale because they sit in the museum portion of the shop. Yes, there’s a museum. It’s pretty cool for a rock shop on the side of a highway in a tiny town! And it’s totally free, but you’ll probably end up buying something while you’re visiting. There’s tons of cool stuff.

This store has so much to offer anyone interested in rocks. From small pocket stones of all sorts, pendants, carved stone animals, locally made jewelry of all sorts, specimen quality rocks and minerals, books and so much more. They also have a attached museum with some amazing rock and mineral specimens. The staff was absolutely wonderful, friendly and knowledgeable!

Definitely worth a stop! They have a lot of cool stuff, not just agates. Lots of cool fossils and other rocks. Plenty of cool cheap things to grab as souvenirs as well

A must see for any agate lover!! They have an amazing collection of the coolest agates! They also carry a wide range of other rocks and minerals as well as fossils and shark teeth. I loved this place and could spend hours looking at the agates!

If you love rocks, gemstones and fossils the Beaver Bay Agate Shop is a cool place for you to stop on your Minnesota North Shore adventure. Another small locally owned and operated business with very approachable and knowledgeable staff. I stopped in just before Valentine's day and was quite impressed with the huge heart shaped Amethyst clusters they had (see picture). I also really like the bathroom sinks, table tops, platters, mortar and pestles, they have made out of polished and shaped fossils in rock. Agates a plenty and so much more (see pictures). Great variety of items for collectors, enthusiasts, home decorating, gift giving, beads and kids. Lower level is easily accessible, even in winter; and just a few stairs to upper level displays.

They have a huge selections of rocks and minerals. Also have a private collection from around the world! 550 lb amethyst chunk, fossils, and more! I could have spent forever just looking at everything and listening to the stories behind the collection! It is a little on the pricey side but, we enjoyed just looking at everything!

You could spend hours here looking at the gems, rocks and minerals, insect displays, jewelry, fossils, and other things of that sort. About 1/4 of the building is also a museum.The thing that really struck me, though, is how reasonable the prices were. It's actually an amazing place.

I loved the private collections on display! They were Absolutely Beautiful.My favorite was the turtle/tortoise fossils!They also had a huge assortment of superior agates and other great polished crystals and stones for sale for a really good price.

The Selection: Whether you're only looking to spend a few dollars or you're looking for something truly special that would require a small fortune, this place has something for you if you're interested in rocks and minerals or are just looking for something unique.The Staff/Owner(s): Very Friendly people! I've never been treated that well by someone who I was a stranger to.Something that commonly happens to me that DIDN'T happen while I was there, They DID NOT judge my Fiance and me by our age or appearance or anyone else that was in at either time we were there.They're also very knowledgeable of the things that they have, While I was in they must have happily answered a dozen questions that people had and everything seemed 100% accurate to my knowledge. Great People, Go visit them while you're up on the North Shore!It would seem that Agates are their specialty. This makes sense being that they're looking out over Lake Superior. If you want to find a nice Agate to remember your trip to Lake Superior by, They have them Rough, Tumbled, Polished, Cut and Carved as well as in Cabochons too!

The staff was friendly and helpful. The store was beautiful and contained everything from fantastic show pieces to small keepsakes. 10/10 will go back. I love my moonstone necklace, and now I want some earrings haha! If you love rocks, fossils, and jewelery, this should definitely be on your list for the North Shore!

No trip up to the North Shore is complete without a stop at the Beaver Bay agate shop. We make a point to allow the boys a budget and they can choose the rocks they want. I don't leave empty-handed either. There are so many amazing options to choose from I just can't depart without picking up one or two things to add to my collection.

Very cool rock shop, and there is lots to choose from here. Personal collection in here was very cool to see even though it's not for sale. The owner was also very pleasant to speak with. I ended up buying a few agates from here 👍
