Cute spot for those traveling on I-35. The cafe boasts engaging decor with fun facts on the table, as well as questions to play 'I spy'. I indulged in an Italian Panini, while my wife opted for a BLT. Both dishes were nothing short of excellent. We complemented our meals with Italian sodas, and couldn’t resist grabbing a chocolate chip cookie to go. Highly recommended!

On your drive between Duluth and the citiesyou might consider passing by Hinkley, skipping the McDonalds at Moose Lake and stopping at the Chickadee for a coffee, treat, or sandwich. It’s a happy little deli and coffee oasis in the midst of the great coffee desert along Hwy35. Really pleasant local deli with a good interior and outside deck. Huge parking lot.

Stopped by for a quick lunch. Ordered their turkey sandwich with their well made french fries. It was delicious😋. Likely coming back when driving on i36 from Duluth.Follow up - went back today. Still good food; service a bit cold.Likely will do another follow up later this summer to check for consistency- an important criterion for us all.

The food was good. The atmosphere was clean. My kids had the grilled cheese and my wife and I had the Caesar wrap. All food was fresh and great. An combination of coffee and chocolate should be avoided at all costs. They taste ok, but it is a highly gritty texture. All of their, caramel, milk and coffee based drinks are good not great. It would help if the took some lessons from the brewesta's at the warming hut. These small complaints will not keep me from going back. It was super awesome that they had free diapers and wipes at the changing tables in the bathrooms. Final opinion, they have some improvements to do but overall it is a nice place with good food. It is also very kid friendly. All the staff were very kind and respectful when talking to my kids.Parking: I could see if this place was busy they would run out of parking spots cuz it's not a very big parking lot but the day we were there there was plenty of parking.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a wheelchair ramp on the backside of the business. It looks like it is well-maintained and up to building code and national standards.

It’s a fun stop, ordered two drinks and a side of fries, a quick stop to see some family. The buzzer he gave us didn’t go off when he finished our drinks so they sat in the counter getting warm until one of our family members noticed them. It did go off when our fries were done though. The wait was surprisingly long for the items we got, about 25 minutes and they were average.Wouldn’t say don’t go there but give it extra time.Bathrooms were clean and nice.

Absolutely worth pulling off the highway! What a gem, my family came in for a light lunch and everything including the PB&j was delicious. The atmosphere was that of a cozy cabin and the staff were very polite and greeted you like old friends. I will be making this a must on future trips "up north!"

We like this coffee house. Spendy and slow... but they are kids. So we don't complain. The selection and price has gone up.... a lot. So we go once every few months. McDonald's is a few miles away, hard to compete.

The cutest little coffeehouse and deli! We stopped by on our way home from a vacation and absolutely adored the food and service. Employees were kind and patient (there were 4 of us ordering for a total of 6 people). Lots of options to choose from when it comes to food and drinks. Please be sure to stop by!

Stopped headed back from the BWCA because they were the only ones open Sunday afternoon. We were impressed by the service, food, and atmosphere. Our drinks were great and the vegan oreo cookie cheesecake was awesome (I don’t normally choose vegan options), not too sweet and hit great flavor and texture. What a gem! We’ll definitely be stopping in again.

Popped off the exit from I-35 on a whim, happened upon this charming coffeehouse and it was worth the detour. Two tasty cookies, hot chocolate, and a house blend espresso drink at a very reasonable price, we sat in one of the dining areas to bask in the sun from the big picture windows. Great big patio for the warmer days, postings say live music every Friday night. Will definitely stop here again!

It was delicious! Yummy chicken avocado soup and chicken bacon ranch salad. Cute little coffee shop with lots of food options and you can even buy a quart of their soups to take home. Some local crafts for sale too. Loved it. Very friendly staff!Parking: Lots of parking

So yummy and cute atmosphere! The food is the highlight though. Reasonably priced and full of flavor. You can tell it’s all fresh and made in house. I got the cranberry turkey sandwich and a cup of their tomato soup. Friends got the same sandwich and their potato soup. The sandwich was so full of rich flavor. The tomato soup wasn’t quite as creamy/savory as I hoped but still very good! Friends said the potato soup was the best they’ve had. Will definitely be stopping on our way from Duluth to the cities again!

Friendly and helpful staff! The food was great. I ordered the Ashley, which was delicious and my husband ordered a egg and cheese sandwich. Food came out piping hot and the waitress who brought it out even reminded us we got chips with it. Many places would have just hoped we would miss that! We would stop by here again!

Honestly I loved the atmosphere, my husband and I found our seats, got comfy and I was excited to sit down and have a little brunch together, something we don't do that often anymore, have a little date together. We got to the counter and I apologized that it would take me a bit, "we haven't been here before", and the server was immediately impatient.. rushed us, huffed and sighed the entire time. It wasn't even busy! I could understand a little attitude if it was crowded, she's gotta get orders in, but there were maybe 5 people in there maximum, and we were the only ones in-line!She completely soured the mood and our appetites so we chose not to stick around, I think we'll just go to one of the other 10+ coffee shops in the area next time.

Great sandwich! I was pleasantly surprised. Cute place. I agree prices are a bit high, but you aren't going to a chain coffee shop or restaurant, and the food is much better than at any chains!Note to the owner: Tell the young girl making the food that I apologize. She was right. I found the pickle in the wrapping. 😄 (Maybe bigger pickles on the side?)

Cute little place, food was great, and portions were good for the price. And the drink menu was to die for, its a shame I only had enough time to have a Grilled Cheese and a Smoothie. If you're in Barnum, this isn't a place you would want to missVegetarian options: Exceptional Vegetarian wrap, girlfriend loved seeing a restaurant that was willing to put allergen friendly items to there menuKid-friendliness: Staff was sweet when my little brother was asking them questions

Stopped here on 5/3/21.around 5:30p. Ordered the French onion soup, sweet potatoe soup, BLT, cranberry chicken salad, grilled cheese and chicken strips. Man! The food was one of a kind; phenomenal. A small cash register was made. The worker gladly made up for the difference. The service was great, quick, and friendly. The place was clean, welcoming, and had tons of hand made crafts to look at while we waited for food. Highly recommend. Cant wait to stop here again when we're back.

This isn't just a coffeehouse! Get amazing sandwiches, local brewery beer, and smoothies all with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. Tuesdays special is a turkey and spout sandwich and it happens to be my favorite sandwich I've had. Gluten free options are also available.

Saw the billboard on I35 and stopped in. Such a cute Northern MN place! Good Chai Latte and enjoyed a delicious breakfast sandwich on a fresh croissant. Lunch menu looked tempting, too. A bit chilly to sit outside today, but inside tables were nicely spaced, felt very Covid safe. Very welcoming staff. I will be noting this place in my travel journal for the next time we come this way!

Service was horrible. We ordered an Italian sandwich and a teriyaki chicken wrap. She said it'll be 5 to 10 minutes. After about 15 minutes, they came out with an order. Unfortunately, it was not our order, it was for the couple that came in AFTER us. Waited some more, watched a couple of orders come for pickup. Finally, after 42 minutes, we got our order. They explained that they had gotten some phone orders in after ours, and had to take care of them. They would have been better off lying. Plus, 42 minutes to make maybe 8-10 sandwiches?Perhaps what we should have done is sat at a table and phoned our order in? Then we wouldn't have had to wait so long.Worst thing is, the food was excellent. Maybe it's because we were so hungry after waiting so long. Would have loved to go back for the food, but don't want to wait. This is my 2nd negative in 20 years for anything.UPDATEWe returned today with my grandson. Service was much better, we received our meals within a few minutes. My wife loved her burger, my teriyaki wrap was good (not as great as my turkey Italian sandwich the last time). Teriyaki flavor was somewhat hidden by the sauce, but still good. My grandson loved his French toast fingers - I had one, and it was delicious. He told me I have to make his French toast this way from now on.UPDATE 2Have stopped here several more times and had great food and service. Stopped today with my ol' bud of 52 years, and had a great turkey bacon cranberry sandwich. After eating, we went to the back porch, and since there were no non-smoking signs, we smoked cigars well away from other customers. We were there for 4 hours. The owner came out a few times, and just smiled at us old guys. Was a great reunion with my ol' bud.
