This is by far the saddest mall that I’ve ever been to. There are malls on the outside that have been closed for a while apparently and no other stores to replace them. They aren’t open very long either. On a week day, they close at 7pm. Once you walk inside the mall, there’s no other customers and is eerily silent. I also didn’t see a food court or cafe in the mall.

It's super sad to see our community struggling. The mall is not full but they take alternative routes to try to utilized empty space. That's a great idea. It as well keeps us consumers alert to different shops or organizations that may be there for us.. Although they do need more stores/vendors appealing to today's market groups.

The mall is a ghost town, there are few and far between inside. There is a Dunham's but due to their anti gun, anti military, anti America stance I don't often see a lot of cars parked outside there.

This place went down hill badly. It was like walking around a flea market. Almost every store or eating place was closed. Horrible!! Don't waste your time

It will be better once Kohls comes in. Not a lot to choose from, shopping. A couple of expensive stores and that's about it.

An almost empty mall, had a locally owned small business that I absolutely loved. D. Micheal B's. The local eating establishment has been a part of the community for around 40 years. Kohl's. There were other places they could have put Kohl's in that mall as most of it is a ghost town, but no they chose the wing of D. Michael B's was in and the mall sells out and there goes a long time small business to a big box store that won't be there for 40 years!

This picture needs to be updated as they non renewed their lease so seeing this picture just brings back the sad emotions of how management is here. All this will do is boost our downtown. Big box store will be nice but there were open locations in the dead mall.

As a froemer employee at one of the stores here, I'm very disappointed in what the mall has become. I understand times are hard, but it's heartbreaking. Hopefully the new updates will bring in other (more affordable) businesses. :(

The mall is empty, with the vacating of Herbergers and JCPenny This mall is SILENT. There is no clothing store in this mall that sells business casual mens clothes. There is a singular sit down restaurant inside the mall, and it really needs some new life. The parking lot is an ACTUAL hazzard with potholes that will bottom out the average sedan. Overall this place needs some help, but with the age of internet shopping I am unsure what will bring this place new life.

It's sad to see the mall fading. However during the holiday season it is full of vendors mostly selling the same things. The stores close when the feel the want but mostly out of need as they have no employees. There are at least 3 empty 'stores' and a few that were empty that are being rented to vendors. I'm sure after the holidays it will be empty again.

It's really unfortunate how bad this place has gotten since the anchor stores closed. The state of the building and parking lot is horrible. Bad water leaks, grungy ceiling tiles, potholes. I really can't blame them entirely. Online shopping has really took its toll on malls across the nation. The covichondria panic didn't help, either.

Definitely needs some work! Especially the parking lot I believe it was built on a swamp and the swamp is taking it back. I believe I lost my front end out there somewhere!

This mall used to be very busy. It is well kepted inside the mall. Good stores but are limited. I would love to see a comeback and make Alex a regional shopping area again. The parking lot is in bad shape. Needs to be updated and pit holes fixed.

This place is not a MALL, it is a building with a few good stores in it and no food court. There is not much to do in this mall and it's usually very quiet with not allot of traffic- which is good for exercise walking but that is about it. Half the stores in the building are empty and most of the rest never seem to be open consistently. Also, the very sparse selection of Kid's arcade type games and gumball machines throughout the mall never seem to be in working order. HOWEVER, with all that being said, the stores that ARE OPEN CONSISTENTLY- JOANN FABRICS, HIDDEN TREASURES, CLAIRE'S, BATH & BODY WORKS, ETC.- ARE REALLY GREAT STORES!

This mall is tired, but honestly is trying to be something. If the core stores filled, it would be even a better place to shop. New children's clothing store (Adorable Chaos), shoe stores, Maurices, Dunhams, Gliks, joanns, Claire's, a restaurant, and a few other small stores. Buying local, supporting small businesses is important to a small town. Give viking plaza a chance when your shopping.

over the years I've been In and out of the mall I've sadly noticed it's not as busy as it used to be since 2 maybe 3 big name retail stores closed up for good . but still a great mall to stop and shop at if you want a place to shop quietly and with no headache of crazy shoppers all ovee. lol viking plaza mall would be the place to go .

There's not very much going on in there these days... There are a few decent places, don't get me wrong. JoAnn Fabrics, Gliks (pricey but quality selection of apparel) Dunhams, BBW (Bath n' Body works you creep), and couple others. Just a lot of empty space and lack of variety.

This isn't a very big mall, and like many malls it had lost its big anchor store. But it still houses many great stores! We can spend a good portion of a day shopping and eating there. I am sad that the only food court type store appears to be closed. But there is a cafe and a nice restaurant/bar that do great business there. I have it 4 stars because of the lack of snacky food shop stores (even the one, which was a pretzel place). Otherwise I personally really enjoy the shops there... Everything from big names like Maurice's and Bath & Body to a local shabby chic sort of store full of refinished furniture, art and such. Joann's is the big anchor now, and that's perfect for me! It's one of the best smaller malls I've been in!

Sadly, this mall is going the way of many malls in our country. There were alot of vacant spaces that were without businesses in the mall itself. The building was pretty rundown as well, especially on the exterior. There were store signs on the exterior that had missing letters and looked dilapidated. They need to do a little upkeep if they want new businesses to come back in.
