I should have made this review long ago but I live near this store so I stop in frequently and am always pleased with both the quality of the goods and quality of the service. I don’t remember the last time I walked into a business where most of the staff is (presumably) under 30yo and get amazing customer service EVERY time. Every time I walk in, they’re working hard, attentive to customers and always seem genuinely happy to come help you.

Usually a pretty decent selection of good quality meats. Prices vary, military discounts. One of the best places in town for meat. Great selection of smaller items like jerky, cheese curds and other tasty knick knacks. Offer bulk orders which save you a good amount.

The moment you walk in, you smell quality and immediately recognize the people serving you and preparing the meats are experts who really care about you and the work they do.Tight on cash? You might think you'll be priced out here, but you'd be wrong. You'll find many items cost less here than at other grocery stores in town. If you weigh in quality with the price, all the products produced in-house are a better value than what you'll find at the other stores.I buy almost all my meats here, and most of my seafood and locally produced milk and eggs, too. I save a lot of money shopping here, then I buy the rest at grocery stores. The also accept EBT.Lake Country Meats is owned and operated by a local family. Meat prep practices there have been handed down generationally. I believe it's Chandler who's next in line to carry the traditions on. You'll see him there alongside his dad and mom doing exactly that.When you support this business, you're directly supporting your community, and getting the best, healthiest meats available. It's a hat trick for sure. Visit here if you haven't yet. You'll redefine "winning!"

If you haven't tried the lunch specials, I highly recommend any of their sandwiches and definitely the brisket Mac and cheese... well all of their food is awesome!We have to stop every time we're camping at Oak park over in Garfield (or just in the area), not too far of a drive and definitely worth it.We haven't tried anything we haven't enjoyed from their jerky and meat sticks, to their breakfast sausages and brats.So if you haven't stopped in, just walking in the door should convince you by the delicious smells to pick up some goodies.

Lake Country Meats is -by far- the BEST place to get meats in the Alexandria Area. Fantastic service and knowledgeable staff. Inside smells absolutely wonderful. If you need meat in the Alexandria Area, there is no need to consider anywhere else: Lake Country Meats is the place to go.

One of the best meat places in town. We come here once a week. Good variety, friendly staff, and good prices. The smoked salmon dip is our absolute favorite. They have great deli meats, bacon, and even smoked bones for our dogs. Highly recommend this place!

Amazing customer service and knowledgeable staff...friendly and courteous...I drive 100 miles to buy two sides of beef...and I will not hesitate to go buy my beef from them again...amazing taste and quality with my personal satisfaction in cuts...they did everything I asked and did it with a smile...now that's how a business should be run..

We were excited to bring home the smoked half chicken. Put it in a pot with a tiny bit of water and covered it, threw it in the oven and warmed it up. It was absolutely delicious! And so easy!

No left overs!!! GREAT food, served in 3 roasters for our 3 day family gathering. Special ribs served at night was pure candy! Wife even bought thick sliced beef jerky when she dropped off the roasters. This place is heaven just walking into it! Smells great, tastes better!

Very friendly and able willing to help with a special order. During the summer of the pandemic, we decided we wanted to make our own fair food. Lake Country Meats special ordered some of the largest turkey legs I have ever seen. They were delicious and was only possible with the help of Lake Country Meats.

I've been in there countless times getting my usual two item's of steak (being Ribeye/New York) as I really enjoy the on display choices of quality cuts alongside the very friendly & helpful staff,It's just unfortunate I have not lived in Alex for some time now but I certainly do make it a point to go inside when I'm in town from time to time as is the case this morning in which I'll be stopping in right around opening to select my lunch & perhaps dinner as well 🤤😉😁

First off, the smell of smoked meats hits ya as soon as you walk in, a smell that should be at any great smoke house. And, secondly, it's a meat house. What's not to like about that? Great selection and huge variety of different cuts of meats topped off with great service and sublime tasting flavors make this place one of the best meat houses in the Lakes Area.

Another example of why we should buy local!What is ‘fair’ with a recent experience I had with Lake Country Meats, Alexandria.Background: I purchased a 5# prime rib in their plastic bag with seasoning.Issue: The plastic big melted during baking. I have baked a prime rib in a plastic bag at least 2O times in the last 6 years.Resolve: Butch, owner of Lake Country Meats called me today (No kidding- he goes by Butch!)The ‘bag’ is to prevent the meat from bleeding and to keep the seasoning from rubbing off. The bag is not meant to cook the meat in.Whoops! My bad.Butch offered to make me another 5# prime rib on December 19. Holy cow!This really exceeds any of my expectations. Buy local!!

Best meat in the area. Very friendly owner and staff. Many cuts of meat or ask for the cut and thickness your looking for. Delicious mouth watering beef sticks and jerky with large assortment of flavors from a plain to spicy bloody mary. Endless selection of brats. Real bacon with lots of meat great on blts! And much much more whether your a local or just in the area for vacation this is your one stop shop for a prefect bbq.
