This is it when it comes to a aquarium store. The BEST customer service around, selection is good both fresh and salt. If you don't know about a fish or product ask they are very knowledgeable. I've been doing aquarium 30+ yrs so I've been around and appreciate someone who puts their customers first and not just sell you something that isn't going to be successful.

I love the fish doctor!!! The staff is amazing! They worry more about the well-being of your fish then making a quick sale. They will walk you through and answer as many questions needed to get you set up right. Their fish are always top quality and always healthy. And prices can't be beat! I give them 10 stars out of 5.

Jake is the best. I have gotten plants from this place for over 6 months now and I have had nothing but not only great customer service but my tank is gorgeous. Some people that leave bad reviews really neeed to take some acceptance because not one plant I’ve ever gotten has done anything but good for my tank and I buy plants at least once a month, sometimes 2 times and buy 3 each visit. I make a drive out to this store about an hour. Thank you guys for all you do!

The guy with the gauges in his ears (didn't catch his name) was really nice. He helped me pick the perfect tank mate for my turtle. Even went all fancy removing it from the tank and bagging it up. 10/10 on the service

Just go to Petco down the road!!!Infested my tank with hair algae and refuses to take responsibility. Look at how fuzzy everything is from my pics!!!I've worked at private pet stores before that have won state awards for being so good and I have also maintained many freshwater tanks for many years.Hair algae is totally manageable if you're willing to put in the work and sacrifices. The fish doctors are not willing to make this effort. They would rather just sell u infested fish and plants to make quick moneySIDE NOTE- I think it's hilarious that fish doctors only responds to positive reviews on here! Further proving my point that they truly do not care about me or what they've done to me

If you want quality fish that are in good condition, this is the place to go in the Ann Arbor area. Prices are a little bit higher than the chain stores, but the selection and quality and service makes up the difference

Absolutely love this place. I started going here in 2002 and they taught me how to start and maintain saltwater aquariums. I moved away and stopped in the other day, 17 years later, and it was exactly the same. Great variety of tropical fish, and very reasonable prices.

Great fish store I've been shopping here on an off for two decades or better, great prices on livestock as well as an awesome selection of nice coral frags and good prices on larger corals too. All of their staff are aquarisists and very knowledgeable on products water chemistry AMD compatibility.

2020 UPDATE: They are going above and beyond to keep their employees and staff safe. They have set up an outdoor waiting section as there is a max customer amount and they have drinks and snacks for those waiting. They offered curbside during the shutdown and one of the staff texted pictures of their fish so we could still have a choice in what we bought. This is one of our favorite fish stores in the area - would definitely recommend!Great selection if fresh and salt water fish here. They have live brine shrimp, black worms and ghost shrimp as well as a huve freezer of frozen foods. Tons of drift wood of all sizes and a big selection of decorations for your tank. Oh and RO water!

Man, fish doctors is great.The staff are knowledgeable, most of them are relatively personable, and the selection is decently priced and varied enough for folks entering the aquaria hobby.If there's anything special you're looking for, they'll do their best to source it for you. If they can't, they'll point you in the right direction.Here's a tank I just started cycling with things I bought at fish doctors.Shop local! Skip the big box! Get the knowledge you need to be successful in a great hobby!

First experience my wife and I bought a severum and a few other fish and the severum didn’t act right from the start and didn’t make it through the night. Did everything to acclimate it properly to temp and to our biotope parameters. They did exchange its value for different fish. the one they had left had died also same night in their tank. Other fish we purchased did good. Sometimes that may happen sure. I get that.The part that really represents this rating is the fact that I called up in advance for a product I was looking for to see if they had it and that I’d be there right about closing time. They guy I talked to said sure take you time. I said I appreciate you thank you and I’ll be there probably right before 6 give or take. I get in parking lot at 6 to see last customer leave. Walk up to door at 6:01 as an employee walked past door as I walked up. Knocked quick with no response. So I get it I was a minute past close. So don't say take your time and come on in. Guess being a business that is customer focused is less important these days. This is why I try to work with small business for the hometown feel and genuine care for the customers over corporate stores. Well some of them I suppose. Also when I was there they trash talked pruess pets with being over priced and not helpful. My experience was much different with pruess pets and should just stick with them and their great service.I try to spend my dollars with people/businesses that want and appreciate the you like I do when I take care of my customers. Excellent Fish store… they have everything you need. One suggestion is to deal with excellent guy in the store, I don’t remember his name but was very courteous and as if he was picking fishes for his own tank. If I were you, would ask for the guy every time I get a chance to go there.My third visit wasn’t all that good. I lost a fish from the first batch, didn’t survive the ride but the lady this time who I dealt with was not welcoming at all. She outright denied any consideration on loss of fish and in the end persuaded us to buy an unhealthy fish which I bought and didn’t survive the night. She charged me more than what the other guy did. Avoid her if you can. Again don’t remember the name.

Excellent staff with superior knowledge and service. Inventory of fish,coral and supplies are awesome. Currently, my newly stocked reef has all been purchased there with no issues. Highly recommended.

The gentleman that helped me was excellent, i can't remember his name but at the time he was wearing a red shirt, had a beautiful looking black and grey flower horn.Here's my experience.I had called earlier in the week about a green terror i had. I asked if I can take him there for a trade or maybe a credit. They said yes but they had to see the fish. Ok cool I'll be in on the weekend.Present time.I called to let them know I would be bringing in the terror. They asked how big he was, i said "little bigger than a credit card".As it turns out he was 6 inches long and they all thought he was beautiful.During this visit i spent maybe 20mins there, in that time three people asked about buying my green terror.I've always gone to this specific business.I've always bought what i needed here.During this visit i bought $60 dollars worth of fish.I got no credit or compensation towards the purchase or my green terror.I am extremely disappointed and will not be returning to this store.

I just was told about this store, and I LOVED it! The staff is so friendly and helpful, and they have so many interesting fish and other creatures, and also plenty of aquarium supplies. It's great to look around at all the fish, they were completely not pushy about making a sale, and they patiently answered my many questions. I will definitely be back!!! Highly recommend!!
