This is the absolute best place to go if you are looking for exotics!!!! I was looking for a bearded dragon that would be good with children and a classroom and had a good personality. She took the time and cared enough to teach us about each dragon she had in. She went through their personalities and current quirks and made educated, compassionate recommendations based on which she thought would be a good fit for us and which would not, based on our needs. She flat out told us which would not be a good fit for us. I cannot honestly express how appreciative my family and I are for the loving assistance.Thank you so very much!!!Friday, April 26, 2024:Still love this place! So many new things being added. Amazing place ! The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Nice variety of products and animals. Constantly growing and getting more products and animals in. Would highly recommend. Check out Fiona the happy Burmese python!They have rat snakes, sand boas, tarantulas, ball pythons, reticulated pythons, bearded dragons, leopard geckos, crested geckos, king snakes, jumping spiders, meal worms, horn worms, and much more.

Stopped in yesterday and was really impressed! Finally a shop that has reptile supplies that are what your animals actually need to THRIVE, not the junk you see at big box stores in the half aisle they might give to reptiles. This place has a huge selection of cork, every kind of specialized bedding, leaf litter, food for every critter (looking for hard to find food, they have it!), radiant heat panels, thermostats…it’s all there and more. The animals are well taken care of and you’ll find all the things you’ve been looking for but haven’t been able to find anywhere! Isopods, tailless whip scorpions, jumpers, beetles, snakes, tarantulas, and if they don’t have it they’ll get it for you! The prices are great, and the advice is the best! I would send anyone here without hesitation to set up their new exotic friend. If you aren’t following their FB page, you definitely should, you’ll be able to follow all the cool new exotic friends they get on and maybe you’ll see something that’ll interest you!

I purchased a baby Red Bearded Dragon from Asylum Pets about a month ago after months of research and traveling to many surrounding pet stores for advice and pricing. This is a classroom pet, so I needed to be sure I chose a reputable breeder. Our new pet Kitzu has been a wonderful addition and learning opportunity for my students. Angela has even expressed interest in expanding her business into educating children about the fascinating world of reptiles. I'm excited to welcome her to my classroom!I chose to purchase from Angela at Asylum Pets due to her overwhelming knowledge of reptiles, fair prices, and the quality/selection of reptile resources she offers. She's given me some excellent deals on my purchases that I truly appreciate! Plus I love that it's a woman-owned business!!Angela's shop is conveniently located near 131 in Wyoming, so I've made it my go-to place for all my Beardie's needs!

Asylum has a great supply of enclosure equipment and supplies, as well as great prices & hard to find speciality items! Asylum also has a great display and selection of live animals and lots of feeders too!

If you are looking for a new pet and or supplies, accessories, or enclosures, Asylum Pets is the place to go! A diverse selection of Reptiles, Inverts, and all types of Feeders! Angela, the owner is very knowledgeable, helpful and takes great care of her animals. She has her own store brand of substrates that are top notch as well! There was a huge selection of cork bark when I was in last too which is very hard to find! Great prices on everything too!

Asylum Pets is THEE place for reptile necessities! The store owner is very knowledgeable, and constantly expanding & improving the store. I always have a great experience when I visit, and it’s neat to see the inverts & reptiles that she has in store. It’s nice to have a shop like this, local, vs having to find things online or support a pet store chain (who does not care about your reptiles/critters the same way that Asylum Pets does). Stop in!! You won’t be disappointed!!

Stopped into the store a couple of weeks ago, the owner was super friendly and helpful. Answered all my questions and helped me learn a lot about bioactive setups. Went to the reptile expo yesterday and purchased two thermostats for my 2 new noodles. Again the staff there was over the top with knowledge, and didn't rush through answering any questions I had on setting them up. GREAT store! I HIGHLY recommend for any of your exotic pets needs! Thank you for everything you are doing for the local herpetology and all of its keepers!! Will defiantly be making you my go to store for my noodles needs!!!!

10/10. We made a special trip up from Lansing to check out Asylum Pets and the experience was nothing short of amazing! Angela is extremely knowledgeable and she's a pleasure to chat with as you tour the shop's collection. The shop has a wide array of products for creating and maintaining environments for wide variety of animals as well as someone who is extremely knowledgeable in the field of reptiles, inverts, etc, to assist you with any questions you may have. If you're into keeping exotics, Asylum Pets is a great place to go!

Learned about this shop recently decided today was the day to stop in to check it out. Owner was very kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. She didn't seem bothered by my children and their endless questions. I got exactly the things I needed and will be back once we have our leopard geckos home set up! This is a great shop! I wish I could give this more stars. Asylum has a knowledgeable owner, who is more than happy to make sure your invert or reptile is set up to succeed at home. There's a wider selection of reptiles, amphibians and inverts here than I've seen anywhere else at a storefront, the prices are incredibly reasonable, and it's a wonderful break from the irresponsible pet stores that cram way too many animals into one enclosure, risking stress and injury to them. It's beyond refreshing to see exotic pets being treated with their care in mind, instead of just being a number.And as a heads up, if you're looking for cat and dog supplies, this store wont have them, it's specifically for herps and invertebrates.

I am so happy to have Asylum Pets nearby. I appreciate the large selection of feeder insects and unique products I can't find anywhere else. The owner takes great care of the animals in the store and I'm excited to see what she will have as time goes on. Highly recommend checking this store out and shopping local!

The owner is super nice. All of the animals are super well taken care of, and you can tell she really does handle them every day to keep them socialized. The prices are fair, and competitive. This will be my new pet store for sure!

Went in for a corn snake for my son. A month later we now also have a lesser pied ball python, a BEL, and a crested gecko. Staff is great and always fun to work with.
