I will be changing my primary pharmacy after my experience the two times I went in this week. I was hoping that I could use the CVS close to my house because of convenience... but all of these reviews are correct. The pharmacy staff is incredibly rude and will act like you're their enemy instead of their customer. When I need and value the services of a pharmacy, I don't appreciate being treated like I'm a nuisance or an enemy. On Tuesday I went in and asked for my prescription and a drug that they keep behind the counter... The lady told me "we'll get you everything once we get your insurance updated. They were having issues with my insurance. The lady helping me tried to put my card in and got frustrated and said "I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO THIS, SOMEONE ELSE IS GONNA NEED TO HELP YOU..." And then she made me step aside to wait for the head pharmacist. The head pharmacist also had trouble. At this point, I wasn't mad... I just figured, I needed to call my insurance and get some stuff sorted... No big deal... When the head pharmacist came back he very sternly told me that my insurance wasn't working.I tried to kindly tell him "It's not problem, I can get this sorted and come back tomorrow for the prescription." I wasn't escalating at all. I was calm but before I could say the word "problem" he interrupted saying "I understand that sir, but you're insurance isn't working and there is nothing I can do..." once he said that I was finally able to say the statement above. While all of this was happening a line built up at the main counter... I had to get back in line and wait for another 5 minutes to get the medicine they kept behind the counter. Once I got to the counter I asked for the lady rolled her eyes that I was back and I told her that I still needed the non-prescription drug that they kept behind the counter... unfortunately, they were out of it so it was a big waste of time when they should have informed me of that when I was listening to them defend themselves for no reason regarding my insurance.I got my insurance stuff sorted and went back on Wednesday. I gave my insurance to a staff member for them to put into their system. The guy who helped me clearly hated this job. There's also this old guy there that gave me an annoyed non-verbal gesture to step aside when the pharmacist helping me stepped away from the pickup counter computer to his desk computer. And then, the pharmacist helping me stopped helping me to help another customer and then came back to me.People trying to get prescriptions and medicines are usually sick in some way shape or form. They deserve to be treated like patients instead of nuisances... especially when they're giving the specific branch their service. The reason I'm switching away from here is because it seems like using these people has the potential to ruin my mood and life is too short for that garbage.CVS is a good company. They can and should do better than the rude staff at this store. I'm not done with CVS as a brand... but I'm definitely done with CVS Hamburg. Do better.Advice to locals... switch to the Kroger up the road. They're a lot more professional and don't treat you like crap.

The Village Center CVS is a terrible pharmacy that I will never use again. They once filled my son's script under my daughter's profile. The recording will often say there is no script ready when there actually is. Or vice versa!! Once a script was supposed to be ready, according to the recording, but actually was not until an hour later.I won't use them again - especially if 2 members of my home need different medications. I wouldn't trust them to give the right script to the right person. This type of recklessness could be really harmful.

There’s no friendliness here. I’ve been going to this pharmacy for about two years now since it’s close to me. But I will be going to the Ann Arbor cvs from now on… I’ve had employees roll their eyes at me. The wait times are long. And one employee in particular is aggressive. I’m willing to drive to Ann Arbor for better service.

The pharmacy employees are miserable! Justin, the old guy obviously doesn’t want to be there, and his demeanor lets everyone around him know it. So rude and unprofessional. This is everytime he is at the counter. It is not a one time thing. He alone makes me want to change pharmacies. CVS must be in desperate need of workers to keep people like him on staff!

The pharmacist seriously needs classes in customer service. I understand that Pharmacies get busy but we are also a very busy dental office, who often prescribes medication‘s to this particular pharmacy, putting me on hold repeatedly, and not even acknowledging how long you’re keeping people on hold is absolutely unacceptable. The pharmacist simply picks up the phone puts you on hold, then continues to place you on hold. this went on for over six minutes and all I needed was a question answered about your stock and if you had a particular prescription. I would hope the management will look and see just how many prescriptions we send in a day. We will be recommending another, more accommodating and attentive pharmacy to send our patients to.

The pharmacy staff couldn't be more rude if they tried. It's comical. Please close if you're that miserable. People need their medication and not your attitude.

UPDATE 02/07/24New staff members. Customer service has improved !!UPDATE(Worst Customer Service To Date (06/19/23)My daughter had a script to fill and called it in at this location. She won’t make this mistake again….I’m am growing impatient with the customer service at the Hamburg Pharmacy (store #5741) located at 7488 Village Center, Hamburg Mi 48139.More specifically; Cashier # 1580962.Most often, she is unfriendly and unpleasant. I have lost count on the number of times I felt very uncomfortable after going through the pharmacy when she was presentToday (06/19/2023) cashier 1580962 was again at the register. She asked me intake questions, such as name and date of birth. It appeared as though she was struggling to find the prescription on file. She then asked me to verify the date of birth, last name and asked if prescriptions had been filled before. She then said she didn’t have anything on file, set the intercom down and walked away. She then swiftly walked past the drive thru window grabbed the intercom phone and walked to another computer. She again asked some verifying questions. I then, without being asked, spelled the first name. She set the intercom phone down and voiced her complaint to other employees with disgust and contempt, loud enough for me to hear every word. Her complaint: “It would be nice if they (customers) spelled the name the first time!” She then laughed with the same demeanor as she stated, “Oh, I found it now that I know how to spell it!”First, I was never asked to spell the first name. How would I know I need to spell it if I don’t know how your system works? I have never had to spell a first name at any pharmacy. If the first name is an issue, why would a cashier assume how to spell it instead of asking how to spell it during intake?Second, how can your company allow such a person to work in customer service. It is rare to find cashier #1580962 in a pleasant and/or customer friendly mood.Prior to today’s occurrence, I have transferred my business elsewhere. Under my recommendation, the rest of my immediate family will be also.I hope you find this email helpful, as Customer Service should be in your list of primary goals.Best Wishes(above was sent to corporate because I don’t believe they read these reviews)UPDATE (must read)*Tuesday, doctor calls prescription to HAMBURG CVS pharmacy.*Thursday, wife checks website and it's not in her file. Wife calls HAMBURG CVS pharmacy and they tell her they never received it. Wife calls doctor who says HAMBURG CVS verified the prescription. Wife calls HAMBURG CVS who now says they have her scrip on file but it's not in stock.*Friday, wife calls HAMBURG CVS and they tell her the medication she needs should be delivered around 11 am. 5pm, wife calls HAMBURG CVS and they now tell her this...[Due to government restrictions, they have met their quota for dispensing this medication for the MONTH. Mind you, today is the 5th of the month.]Not our first issue with HAMBURG CVS but our last. Whether these were lies,a misunderstanding, or a lack of competence; HAMBURG CVS has broken the camel's back with this final straw. My wife needs her medication and you have failed in many ways.Ironic, the last time I went in to pick up a prescription that was called in two days prior it was when I arrived that they literally just started to fill it and it would be ready in 45 minutes.Normally I would delete prior post, but it is still hit or miss with friendly staff. (See below)Original Post:Hit or miss on friendly Pharmacy staff. Definately never feel welcome and most of the time feel like just another prescription (customer). Efficient with long lines. I miss the family owned Pharmacies. None the less; clean and stocked location. Typical CVS and typical pricing. CVS should consider loading the earned rewards and coupons to the customers rewards card...my receipt was literally 5 feet long....REALLY CVS?

Visit this pharmacy only if you love deplorably nasty and uncaring employees and enjoy waiting in long lines for a disorganized disaster of an operation. They have consistently failed to supply regular medications in a timely manner. Avoid at all costs. Repeat. AVOID!!!

Horrible pharmacy, cannot follow Dr's simple prescription instructions, and rude on top of it.

I came into this CVS at 1:40pm on Tuesday July 4th for a few essentials (hand soap, ibuprofen, sports tape etc) and headed to the self check out when I noticed there were no bags. The cashier was busy with a customer, but when she was done I asked her for a bag so I could bag up my purchases… the cashier, an older lady, responded with “are you trying to steal bags?” Excuse me.. but what? She then came over and snarked sarcastically “thanks for letting me know I was out of bags..” while continuing to mumble something under her breath. I was so frustrated I dropped the bottle of soap which landed on my foot. As I was on my way out, the cashier sarcastically said “hope ya feel better” while rolling her eyes. Not once was I rude nor did I act impatient. That was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with customer service, totally unprofessional. I will never step back into this CVS and I will make sure my family and friends in my subdivision know to avoid this CVS if that’s how the employees treat their customers.

The pharmacy makes you wait for a while for your already medication. They take care of people who came 5-10 minutes after you arrive. There are times they ring people up with products they want to purchase when it’s busy. Then they see others who do and don’t when it’s not busy. Now they stop doing photos; so now I have to go to use a different app to get them. There’s this one cashier who always complains about their job and it’s quite annoying.

Went to this CVS to get water and a few more things. Cashier was extremely rude and comments were made that were not helpful or necessary about my spending. Cashier Denise #1831588 needs to do better with her customer service.

Very limited hours for the pharmacy makes it difficult to pick up medicines outside of normal working hours. Pharmacist refused to help my husband locate a pharmacy that had a medicine I need to breathe every 4 hours and said they were unable to do that, whereas Howell and Hartland locations were able to by phone later that evening. Do not recommend, we will be switching to other, farther locations.

This is the absolute most worst pharmacy, the tech with blonde short hair, glasses, older is so rude. Never wants to do her job. Tried charging me for my meds that are covered by insurance. Everytime I deal with hshe really hates her job. Never have refills on my meds that are due for refills, always end up going a few days without. What happened to the small family owned pharmacies. They suck!!!

Good CVS with a good selection and is typically clean and well stocked. Checking out at this location is terrible. Half the time there’s no cashier or just one with a huge line. They offer self checkout but they are very glitchy and seem to not work or malfunction most of the time. Staff is not very friendly.

Pharmacy staff is rude and unprofessional. Ill drive the 30 minutes to go back to my previous cvs after trying to make this one work for me the last 3-4 months. I will never go back here again.

Old lady at the pharmacy with glasses was incredibly rude. Complaining that our script was ready and she wasn't sure if she could get it before she goes home in 2 minutes. It's been sitting here all day. It's not my fault you and your staff didn't complete your job in a timely manner, and now you have to leave.

The pharmacy staff is so rude, so unpleasant and extremely unprofessional. My husband and I went in to try to resolve a billing issue for our medication. We could hear the pharmacy staff mocking us and insulting us within earshot.

We went to urgent care at 7am for an ear infection. My daughter is in pain. The script went to CVS Pharmacy in the early AM. 4pm rolls around and still no notice that her script was filled. I called and the auto notice said they would fill it tomorrow 😡 I called and spoke with someone and told them to fill it..they said 1 hour. 1.5 hours later I try to fill the script and they tell me 20 more mins. A storm rolls through and now nobody has power and my daughter has to suffer again tonight becuase CVS can't get their act together for a basic script that takes minutes to fill. No more CVS. So outrageous

I am a fellow pharmacy technician and know how hard working retail pharmacy can be, especially when corporations cut hours and staff and your workload keeps increasing - which is happening to almost everywhere these days. I've never had a mistake at this pharmacy with my medication and if there is ever a concern or question, a staff is always quick to give me a call about it. I've had a technician not be the friendliest and misunderstood me once, but everyone with a negative comment here consider these people aren't just dealing with your problems and just your prescriptions. They are dealing with anywhere from 200+ peoples insurance problems and prescriptions per day. Be patient!

My go to pharmacy since my company's prescription plan is through CVS caremark program. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The drive thru is very convenient and usually pretty quick. General merchandise is consistent with other pharmacy stores a little in the high side for some items. If you get coupons you can save a lot of various purchases. But overall this is a great place to get your medical supplies and medications.

The worst pharmacy I have EVER been to. When the overweight technician is not letting me fill my prescription 2 days early. Even though my DOCTOR has written it allowing early refills. They try to blame it on insurance when my insurance says I can get it up to 5 days early. Unprofessional, liars and I don't understand how they stay in business. The gentleman pharmacist is the only decent person but hes not enough to keep me going to this nightmare of a pharmacy.

NEVER have prescription ready when they are supposed to be. Everyone I know very much dislikes going to this location. I was just informed that there is only 2 employees in the pharmacy on a Sunday, one of which was hired to be a cashier and does not have any schooling or training to be a pharmacy tech but yet they have her counting pills for prescriptions to be filled and do not pay her as a tech. Horrible location!

Jeremy Sargent

Staff is friendly but highly overwhelmed. Either there's an issue to where they didn't receive my prescription (even though it was sent over hours or even days before, then suddenly it's "oh, we JUST recieved it..."), or it's not ready yet (even though the phone automated system said it was). I can see once or twice but it is every single time. I don't recommend this location due to this, and also that the store's filthy. Looks like the carpets and floors haven't been cleaned in days.

I'm a disabled veteran with a chronic illness. I take methotrexate injections for my disease and was stressed because I had not received my package of new syringes from the VA. Being desperate, I went to this CVS pharmacy and explained the situation to the pharmacist and politely asked if I could get some new ones. The pharmacist told me that it's basically her decision to sell them to me and that she wouldn't do it without proof that I needed them, like a prescription on file (which I didn't have because I'm treated at the Grand Rapids VA center). I was extremely offended because I was being treated like a drug user or junkie. It bothers me that this particular CVS would rather have people use used needles or go without medication instead of selling new ones.I went to the Kroger pharmacy down the road and experienced zero issues. I was in and out within five minutes, no questions asked. I was treated with dignity and respect. Thank goodness for Kroger. Also, this CVS is a dump. It's outdated, dimly lit, and not the cleanest. The only reason you would ever go to this CVS is because there isn't a Walgreens.

The front desk people are always great, but the pharmacy employees always treat me like an inconvenience. It's been over a year of this, and they did the same thing to my boyfriend when he came to pick up my meds when i was too sick to do so myself. I'll be taking my pharmacy business elsewhere.

This is the worst pharmacy. They should be shut down. They screw up all the time. They gave my prescription to someone else. They don't keep track of prescription refills. I have refills on my bottle and they say I don't. I can't even call in and put my information in to show I have more refills. They are now not even answering the phone. And you can't go online to put in information. I don't suggest anyone to use this pharmacy. Horrible!
