This store is currently going through a remodel. My friend and I went to check this store out and I have never received as bad customer service as I did at this store. Nina and the store manager were more than rude! My daughter and my friend were not able to scan items on their phone with the DG app so my daughter went to ask the cashier and she stated she cannot price check for her (I'll leave out what she called us as it was very discriminatory). She then proceeded to state if she was going to buy it at full price then she could price check it. 🤷 However, we did not know the price hence why she was asking anyway. The manager without saying hi/greeting us she stated we cannot look at items on the top shelves as everything has been gone through and proceeded to state she does not have time to be cleaning up our mess. (We never make a mess in the store, if anything we help clean it up as we look!) Very rude staff! There's other DG's that make you feel welcomed as you shop there unfortunately not this store!! An update on the rudest employee DG has NINA! Not sure how she was promoted in the last few months but she is now the manager of this store! DG pay your people more so you can get employees worth something! My mom is visiting for the holiday and her, myself, my young son that his birthday is today and my husband stopped into this store today. My mom was showing me a candle and my son was looking at the Christmas nci table, Nina has the nerve to come over to us and state"if your teaching him how to penny shop there ain't no pennies in this section". My son turned 4 today! No one was doing anything but looking at the merchandise!

I would rate this store a 0 if I could because they cannot get rid of this Nina lady. She wants to continue to yell at penny shoppers and treat them rudely. She wanted to say to my face that she has a job unlike me. Well I have a job little does she know. But she needs to go! I don't know how you can be so rude at your job and not get fired!

Very well-lit store, with more items on the shelf than my local Dollar General stores in northern Indiana usually have stocked. We stopped in while staying at the Weathervane Inn, to pick up some things to make a hotel stay easier (kitchen towel, metal utensils, and some convenient foods). The prices and quality were good, and on par with what you'd expect from a Dollar General.The cashier was very talkative, and shared quite a bit of personal information, but she was friendly.

Used to love it, now it's going down hill. Stock is lacking, some prices are just as high if not higher than Walmart. And there are busy times when there is one employee and there should be at least 2. She did an amazing job, but there was a long line and it was a lot of pressure.

Employees were incredibly rude. We stopped in to grab something quick and 5 minutes before closed was told, “Times up, you need to leave.” So so rude and made us very uncomfortable.

I can't believe how much more than $ items!! I usually go for my cleaning goods....imagine how surprised I was to also get dinner for 2 nights????!!!You can bet I'll be back!!! Check them out, you'll like them!!

Prices were to high. Cash register lady was rude. The coupon app didnt work. Can't do price checks with out ringing up the product then have to wait for someone w a key to take it off my bill.....just a hassle all the way around.

Good dollar store like prices. Good variety. Clean. But nearly always the cashier runs into trouble. Sometimes the register freezes, sometimes they make a mistake and don't know how to fix it....issues like that.

Dollar General is a very convient place shop if you run out of certain items and you need it quick especially if are having a party and you run out of snacks. Dollar will come through for you. Have a great and party hearty.

I would give this place 0 stars if it would let me! Horrible service, every time I go in. One dark haired girl in there is just miserable and awful to customers. They don't pay attention to the customers waiting to check out. The owners need to get more involved.

Your service person was rude! Pricing did not reflect on the item on the shelf. I was told at the register that someone must have shoved it over to the wrong spot. And a shrug of the shoulders let me know that personnel could care less.

Poor quality lately, mold found in freezer, sick people working during covidoutbreak.... just a incubator ground for disease I feel so bad for the employees.

Dollar General in Shelby is getting better.. Most of the employees are courteous and friendly, but the girl Marissa is rude and isn't very good at customer service..

rude cashierI walk up to the counter with my items and the girl just looks at me with a blank expression on her face. Doesn't even greet me with a hello. I guess that's to be expected at a dollar store.
