Pretty good thrift store, with decent prices.Not too many tools, but a ton of everything else.Lots of books (and free Bibles, one per person).Much glassware and cookware.Tools and knives are behind the counter where you can only enter when an employee is present.Tons of stuffed animals, and kids clothing.Recommended.

I never have a problem here. The staff is always super nice. The deals are great. I've been buying Halloween costumes stuff from here for years. Always affordable and always well stocked.

prices have gotten crazy. Motown Thrift is a FOR PROFIT LLC out of Oklahoma. about 6 years ago it took over a location where there used to be a DAV nonprofit thrift shop benefiting Veterans. this Westland location still gets a ton of free donations from the community. prices on used items sometimes border on ridiculous. new items are priced higher than retail, i.e. $89.95 for Koolaburra by Ugg when the same item retails for $10 less at shoe stores and even less than that if on sale. i have seen items with retail tags showing a store sale price that is $5 or $10 dollars less than what this thrift store prices it at. there are 3 other NONPROFIT thrift stores in a 3 mile radius that support community programs.

None of the staff is welcoming or friendly at all. I had a terrible experience with one specific worker the older lady she was incredibly rude to me and my friend for no reason. I found so many good things, but that experience honestly makes me never want to go back. It’s not hard to be kind and just friendly. If you hate your job that much QUIT I don’t understand why people are bitter to people just existing.

Huge variety of items at decent prices, especially when you find the color coded discounts. I got a women's jean jacket for less than $2 that brand new retails for around $100, and it was in excellent shape. Very friendly employees.

I visit this store for the very first time on 3/02/18. I was hoping to find some diapers small for my grandson. They had a big square bin fill to the top with diapers. Only problem all medium. The price was too high! Some were 8.98 and 5.98. I use to could get them for 2.10. I decided not to buy anything. I love purses but most of them 6.98 and 8.98 or more! Their stuff is too high. The store is very nice and clean and organized. I like that about it but makes no sense that their items are so darn high! I'm going back to Value World. I'm not sure if I will go back here. They need to lower their prices some!

Motown Thrift is my personal favorite out of any thrift store I’ve ever been to. They are clean, organized and it’s easy to view items throughout the store. I make multiple trips there consistently on a weekly basis and almost always find at least one thing worth purchasing every time I go in.

It’s super annoying to go in and find something you want but someone put it on the shelf with no price. By their policy, it gets pulled, priced then placed on the shelf the next day with no option for me to buy it now. Customers shouldn’t be punished when someone doesn’t do their job.

I hate to say this, but I’d recommend spending your money elsewhere. This used to be my favorite thrift store but things have gone downhill in the last year or so. Prices have really increased and items that are stained, torn or otherwise damaged are sold at a premium. I have also had several encounters with rude & hostile staff members. There are plenty of great thrifts in the area with friendlier staff and more inclusive pricing, such as Volunteers of America and STEP.

Okay they're looking for jeans they're jeans range between 13 and $22 I don't know maybe it's been a while since I've looked for jeans but that's freaking crazy isn't it.Well the problem is I frequent thrift stores often and you guys are outrageously overpriced and all of them have daily and weekly deals that you can take advantage of from there already lower price

Nice place. Clean,good prices. Friendly staff. Ran into some even more compassionate nurses today while i was there. A very nice couple stopped and asked about the stitches on my neck. They were concerned about the way it looked inflamed. I assured them it was getting better than it was and thanked them for their concern. Nurses are the Best!

I went to donate in the box outside the store. I put a bag in by accident. It was a bag of NEW BABY CLOTHES for my brother new baby. I called and spoke with 2 managers ( Michelle & Eric). They both claimed they didn't find the clothes or see me on Camera Donating the bag. I had 2 other bags also. The manager had 1 worker go get 2 of the 3 bags. How about they brought up 2 of the same bags with the exact items still in them, but can't find a third bag. 🤔 and

I feel conflicted about this place because on one hand, they often have a great selection and decent prices but on the other hand, my partner and I recently found a HUGE bed bug on a pair of sweatpants there. When we told the staff they did seem disgusted but then we never saw them go take care of it. This left us feeling pretty concerned as we felt it should’ve been immediately addressed. Prices are decent, great selection, but you may be unknowingly bringing a little extra home with you lol. I won’t be back due to this but I hope they have taken care of the issue. Also want to mention that the radio is blaring and overstimulating and when we asked for them to turn it down some, the employee asked the manager or owner to which they declined turning it down.

The selection here is usually really nice but my most recent visit the staff was incredibly rude to me, the manager on shift wouldn’t sell me a hoodie because it wasn’t marked and she scolded me when i asked if they could get a price for me, saying i needed to follow the policy like everyone else. She also misgendered me multiple times. I used to go out of my way to come here but not anymore.

This place is a joke. I’m well qualified to work here and they gave me two interviews. But due to me being legally deaf I wasn’t granted a job. I went into. I asked the lady where I could find the guys on my interview. She was very rude. Then the second interview went very well according to Michelle and then she was going to talk to the other supervisor. As on Sunday I wasn’t able to work a 12 hour shift and what I had to come in a little later today to church and another obligation in the Morning. She will call me back the next day. I never received a phone call from them and was in fact holiday. They was gonna go with other candidates at this time. They only would hire friends and family or friends of family and friends. These businesses need to hold accountable for discrimination against disabilities and also how responsible for not really hiring just have signs out so they don’t have pay loans back from pandemic. I would not feel this way if I did not know that I was overqualified actually for this job and a great candidate for this job.

The selection of clothes, housewares and books was good. Unfortunately, one of the cashiers was very unfriendly and quite rude. She made us feel unimportant and was more interested in her phone. It ruined the entire shopping experience.

Love the store but the staff leave something to be desired. Been coming for years and this is the worst staff I've encountered. They half speak and don't make the announcements to let you know the fitting rooms are closing until they actually are closed. A heads up would be appreciated. Customer service is lacking.

I have been coming in this store for years the staff yesterday well one person in particular the cashier was so rude after waiting a good 20 minutes in line I was greeted with “what’s up” I said “excuse me he/she said it again , I asked is that how you greet customers he/she said Yeap , it’s a resale shop but I don’t see any reason to disrespect the customers, luckily a man stepped in helped me out and got me out of the store quickly hopefully that rude person won’t be there when I come back

Best Thrift Store around! Always clean and well organized, and full of good deals.Sunday is "Manager's Special" day where certain items are marked as low as 20 cents - My daughter and I got over 125 items today (some designer, and brand new with the tags on) and only spent $36!

First time here and was purchasing mens clothes for my son. The tag fell off one pair of pants and they refused to sell them to me. I was willing to wait for them to be repriced and purchase them but was told no. I understand some people switch tags but I was willing to wait for them to price them accordingly. Turning down sales isn't good business practice.

I’ve worked in customer service since I was 16. My mom told me about this store and said y’all had really amazing prices and clothes. I start a new job soon and wanted to see if you had anything that struck my eye. I picked out a few things, looked to see if the dressing rooms were open but there wasn’t a sign saying they are not. So, I went up to the cashier desk and waited in line since it was busy and I didn’t want to be rude. I finally was up next and asked the lady with dark brown hair, she looked young mid 20s. I asked very nicely if your store opens the dressings rooms on the weekends and she responded rudely. She was inconsiderate, gave attitude, etc. The store was clean and very nice. I will most likely not come back because of your customer service. You should find different workers or change who is up front. I’m not one too complain but I should not have been treated that way.

i come here all the time and i am sure that the workers are sick of seeing me every other day. very great selection and i have never left without a new find. however, a lot of the people have such a terrible attitude and it really dampens the mood. especially one of the girls, she barely does any work and when i see her at the registers she never smiles and seems like she literally hates her life but honestly i feel for her, just make the experience better by providing an upbeat envirnment yknow

I am giving Motown Thrift 5 stars. They came a long way from being DAV. The store is clean, no nasty floors, all clothes is hanging up on racks, reasonable priced, always find what i need, seniors discount for 5 days☺. The staff I have experienced is pleasant. The only thing that i would request is that a cashier would be at the jewelry counter always and make that location 10 items or less check out.
