There is NO customer service at this location. If you have a return or other problem good luck. The excuse is that they are short staffed, and No you can not make a return through a regular register. I have seen the lines in this location way longer and there was someone also at the Service Counter. I guess they don't care about the retirees during the late morning.The TV commercials tout fresh produce. Does this salad look fresh to you? What a waste of $3.69!

Past couple of years the meat goes gray next day. Hamburger and roast. Purchased pictured hamburger on 21st. Today is 23. Sticker says good to SELL until 24th. Ongoing problem.

Wendy in the flower dept was so great today! As busy as she was refilling & doing her thing, she took time to rewrap some flowers for me with no hesitation at all. These were for something important & she made them look beautiful & made me happy. All with a great attitude & smile. Thank you so much Wendy. (Merriman & cherryhill)

The bakery in this place has caused me the most issues. In November I ordered a cake a week before I needed it. They called me the day before I was to pick it up that their cake decorator quit. No offer of a discount on an undecorated cake or anything. I tried again in February for my other daughter's birthday thinking they surely must have hired someone by now. Same thing, the day before they call to say they don't have a decorator. And again, no offer. I just checked their job listing, they don't even have a job posting for a decorator.Funny how an hour after this review I received a call letting me know (again) that they couldn't make my cake but offered to write on any cake they had there readily available. This time I was told their decorator called off.

Store is almost always smelly because the bottle room and cart area are never properly cleaned. It is so bad sometimes that it makes me want to plug my nose while shopping because it spreads throughout the store. Especially by the front. I've only gone in a few times where I was surprised by the clean smelling air in the store. This location needs to do better with keeping things sanitary.

Most ghetto Kroger in the area. Workers are mostly rude. Cashiers wanna smash bread and slam around cases of soda because their ten inch nails are in the way. Half the staff is wearing air pods including cashiers! Have to scream to get someone’s attention. Will never shop here again.

Nice employees that work produce,meat+bakery.Cashiers are friendly+helpful.But upon stepping out of your vehicle,the parking lot is FILTHY-poured drinks,puke,snot+employees smoking by entrance(the same for Michigan Ave+Merriman)-I'm thinking the strip mall owner is too cheap to get a street sweeper to do the entire parking lot,+ensure steps in and out of the building are snot,vomit+cigarette butt free.C'mon now,our Westland Middle Class+Lower Income $$$ is just as good as those that shop Kroger at Ann Arbor Road+Sheldon(Plymouth),+Ford Road+Canton Center(Canton),so please Kroger Corporate, take care of biz+spend some bucks on upgrades here! The entrance smells disgusting,always like old dirty mop water+vomit.Not a good impression to make on your customers.It's time to do a remodel inside+out here.I do like it,but I'd rather shop at a cleaner,more up to date, comfortable store that takes its pricing,cleanliness+selection more seriously.Even if it's further away.

I went to get a turkey which are on sale. 49 cents a pound with digital coupon. Since I was also purchasing 2 bottles of wine I went through regular checkout. The cashier Chloe was a put off right from the start. She acted like it was a chore just to have to do her job. She kept leaning on the checkout and sighing like she was bored with having to do her job. She was having a problem scanning the turkey so instead of asking for help she just put in the original price and was expecting me to accept that and pay it. She only got a manager because I refused to pay it. Then when that was settled I gave her cash and she had to get a manager for that to. It was ridiculous, they cannot accept cash without manager approval? People were lined up waiting because she couldn't manage to do her job.

I don't like this krogers today was second time coming here the lady at selfout was very rude & nasty attitude If the Krogers on Michigan ave & merriman was making cakes I would have ordered from there and got my daughter cake from there. They have very poor customer service. The ladies in bakery was nice and very helpful. Will not be coming back

Stopped in this location just for tomatoes and lettuce around 8pm. What should have been a pretty quick trip. After standing in line for several minutes for self check out. The supervisor finally told ALL of us waiting customers, Self check out is now closed.. Use the only single cashier open already with a line already. Didn't take long before the line went from the front to back past meat section in the back of the store. No other staff came to aid the solo cashier, nor customers waiting. I asked the cashier was this common practice? She replied not sure 'it's my second day on the job "What??? I commended her & told her to hang in there. It was quite clear they threw her in a sink or swim situation!! Throughout this mess she remained extremely pleasant and friendly 10 ⭐ service from Tanya!!🤗 I can only hope the Union rep's will visit this location soon. Tyler,John, or Bridget please? To Management, this is a great opportunity to evaluate yourself and make better decisions, time management! This is how you will potentially great staffing and customer's business! I watched as quite a lot of cart filled people took one look & walked out! TWO hours before closing is unexceptable!😤! KROGER Management get it together... Without customers you don't have a paycheck FACTS

I honestly have nothing nice to say about this kroger. There is never anything in stock, their selection is severely lacking compared to other krogers, and their employees at the front for checkout are awful and lack customer service skills.I've never seen so many employees on their phones while working in any other store before. Just the other day we went through checkout and the cashier was talking on her air pods loudly to a friend and swearing while checking our items out. It was beyond disrespectful and I don't see how this store still has people working at it.Not only are the workers failing this store, they don't even stock paper bags. I'm tired of having to carry my items out of the store when I forget my reusable or having to take 4-5 plastic bags when I could use 1 paper bag. When I inquired to the worker at self checkout about paper bags, while they were staring at their phone, I was told they just don't have them.The only reason we even shop here is because we live across the street. We might commute to the other store down the road and stick to Costco. This store is beyond a joke.

Staff is relatively unfriendly. Several were wandering around conversing with each other rather than working. Shelves appear stocked but there is a lot of space behind the front row. Stock is displayed in a hurried fashion. Last time I was there repeated calls were made over the loudsspeaker system directing security to walk the floor.

Come here every day, a young kid gave me two of the wrong packs of smokes, I had to open a pack but decided to go down let them know what happened - They wouldn't exchange the other pack for the 100s because they said it was illegal- they've always been cool to me till today. everything is illegal- Kroger's prices for food should be illegal anyways Sunoko is way cooler n cleaner -

To be very frank, this is one of the WORST Kroger stores you can go to within the area!I live just off of Palmer rd so for me it makes sense to shop here out of convenience, but is the headache really worth it? Not always.The bottle machines always are having some issue where one or more aren’t working. If you go and tell someone they say “yeah they’re broken” or “Thats not my job” and walk away. Like excuse me, but cant you call someone or go get someone to help? Nope, can’t be bothered apparently.And if you need something at customer service I’d go to another store completely, the lady who runs the desk is INCREDIBLY rude, and she’s always there and has been so for years. If you need anything she acts as its not her job to help you and its causing her a great inconvenience when its her job… It says so on her tag! Which id also like to point out if you look at her tag it says shes been there so for many years and it makes you winder how when you act in such a way to customers. Shes even rude to fellow employees that ask her for help!

Dont normally do reviews but a young dude named Edwin was here and helped me not only in the lot when i needed a cart (ot was pouring rain) but he also helped me find about 5 things inside the store later one. Had a smile the whole time too.Super nice.

Thanks to Linda Jones and her absolute lack of customer service I will no longer be shopping at Kroger (which was my favorite place). Every. Single. Time. I've needed assistance she purposely made me wait over an hour and gave me the run around. Today was the last straw; I had to follow Josephine around the store and watch her help everyone else before me- as in cleared the whole line not once but twice!!! interestingly enough Josephine waited while the customer before me played her lottery for about 20 minutes before helping me and put me aside to help everyone else before helping me. All this to get the $30+ stolen from me yesterday because it didn't come off of an advertised sale!!! Absolutely ridiculous!!!The worst part is this would not have happened because I would've noticed before cashing out if they weren't short staffed and I wasn't bagging my own groceries!!!!!!! This was not the first time, but certainly the last.

Terrible Staff/management, make up their own rules and policies. Every day it’s a different policy they have going on that they make up. Definitely contacted corporate but I highly doubt anything will be done regarding the issue. So I just won’t support Kroger anymore especially this location.

I used to love this Kroger but for the past year, it smells like dead rotting fish as soon as you walk through the doors and I know I'm not the only one that smells it, because I've heard other customers complain of the smell, yet it's ongoing. It's so obnoxious I started shopping at other Krogers just to avoid the smell. What's going on!Update: 3/6/24Avoid this Kroger all cost. It is the most ghetto Kroger I've ever been to. The manager is this stern lady who closes customer service whenever she feels like it. They're supposed to close at 8:00 p.m. I go there today at 6:50pm, I looked at my cell phone right in front of her when she told me they were closed and I said I thought you closed at 8:00 she said no we close at 7:00 p.m. There are no signs posting service times like at the Kroger right down the street. I've been at customer service after 7:00pm so I know she just changed it at her own convenience.

Recently moved to the area, I frequent this location a few times a week for the last 7 months and almost every time I’m disappointed. Between bottle return machines not working/being closed, not having what I’m looking for and the quality of customer service being extremely low. For example, they had two employees working on a fixing self scan machine with one main line open and another lady working the self scan..management seems not to care when confronted. I leave thinking to myself “why do I keep coming here?”.. honestly it’s out of convenience for location to my house..

I've been working at this location for about 6 months. I work in the deli. I am the assistant manager. We are aware of the smell and are working diligently to figure it out. Changes are being made. Please don't allow a few bad apples to ruin your experience at our store. Most times, our employees are friendly and absolutely willing to help any customer out. I love working here and love my work family ❤️

Rarely do I leave a review on anything but Katie, the cashier was extremely disrespectful and unsanitary. She got annoyed about a mtn dew dropping off the belt due to her throwing the separator back into the slot and it hitting the soda. Also every last vegetable bag I had, she opened and said “that’s the only way she can scan it” never in my life have I watched a cashier open a bag and touch all over it to scan it. I understand you need to wash it anyways but that was just not needed. Lastly I had a case of water sitting on top of the cart full of groceries and she got attitude that I didn’t leave it in the cart.

The place is like a grocery store in the Soviet Union. They never have anything in stock that you're looking for. They have vegetables that rot almost immediately. Those little Clementine things are the worst for that. The lines are long. Maybe they have it more consistent now but in the past the meat and seafood counter closed at random undisclosed times.
