If you're a fan of feeling like a criminal, this is the place for you. They won't leave you alone for even a second and continually walk by the isle you're in just to keep an eye on you. If you're looking to rent something and want to be treated like you're an idiot, this is the place for you. Not sure if it's because I'm female, but the questions I've been asked about my intended use of rental equipment, if I "have help" to use items and the excessive warnings of the "cost if you break this" were insane. I'll give it to them on cleanliness. The store is spotless. Prices are the typical way over priced small town hardware norm. I'll drive the extra miles to go to one of the big box stores in GR. I can't be the only one.

Over the past 2 years I have been doing a lot of home projects. Wayland Do It Best crushes the competition. Bill knows every inch of that store and can direct people to the exact shelf they need. Today was a perfect example. He spent a good deal of time with me in the nuts and bolts aisle and helped at least 6 others at the same time, but never left me hanging! You just dont get that kind of attention anywhere else! I had 3 towns to choose from today each about the same distance from me. Wayland was and will be the perfect choice.

Will not replace a missing piece in package with receipt. They are very unacceptable with returns(I’ve been told multiple times). They will tell you it’s because I modified a piece to use because I was missing a piece, but I was going to keep everything and just wanted the missing piece….period! I didn’t want to return it. I wanted to just get the missing piece, but as heard before they don’t feel the need to please a customer. I’m glad to take my business elsewhere, since prices are quite high. I was also treated like a thief when I was going to go and purchase another part due to the missing one. They used the whole modify excuse(which was a piece I was still going to keep), so they wouldn’t have to do paperwork, or send the product back to the seller. It was not only frustrating, but irritating, and could have been easily resolved. What do I know, I’m just a customer.

I thought my husband was nuts when he said whenever he goes here he gets treated as if he was a burglar. Until my son and I stopped in today to get some WD-40. The lady asked if I needed help I said no thank you I know what I am looking for. We stopped in the back by the bike stuff just to look she followed us over there. And watched us. I grabbed some grease I thought I might purchase and then walked down the isle where the wd was. She followed us and then I walked back to the bike stuff to put the other grease back and there she came LOL what was even stranger was I don't have a purse I carry my wallet. I guess whatever they thought I was going to burgal was going down my trousers..I don't know it just seemed a bit extreme for some WD-40..🤨

Just letting everyone know to adovid Wayland hardware store. I waited a 2x6x8 pressure treated board that home depot sells for 7.48 they wanted me to Pay 17.99 for the same board. That price gouging charging over 10.00 more for the same board.

Been going here for everything from Uhaul to UPS to needing things like paint and tape for my projects.Everyone is always nice and today they helped me out with some issues I had sending a package. The nice lady was really patient and went out of her way to help me.

If you're from Wayland or the surrounding area, this is the place to come for all of your household needs. With lumber and the ability to order anything you want, they are more than just the place for hardware. They are also a drop-off point for UPS if you have a package to ship. You might find cheaper prices at a big box store, but you will not find better customer service, knowledgeable advice, and willingness to help you get what you need. I believe in keeping my dollars local whenever I can, and the value with each buck I spend at Wayland Do-it Best Hardware can't be beat.

They have been very helpful, friendly staff. Good selection. Prices are a little higher than a Lowe's or home Depot but that's to be expected at a smaller store and the service easily makes up for the slightly higher price.

This store and it's people are the best, always there when you need help or advice. The store carries some lumber, drywall and other big store items to try and save you a trip into the bigger cities.But the people are what make it the place to go to first, no hunting up and down isles looking for help here, there are there when you need them.

A little bit of everything, and a whole lot of knowledge and know-how!!! Paint department, bike repair, furnace filters, bird seed, grills. Everyone is helpful to guide you for the tools and supplies. Love having everything I need so close to home!

Mason walked me around to find every item on my list, then I met Bill at the checkout; he gave me a thumbnail of their services and. Being an inventor, and Jack of all trades with an eye for quality, I have presented several requests for parts or advice on how to work with a product I have never worked with before, their advice and solutions have always been good, and help keep me buying local. I just want to put it out there the price difference with power tools for example Milwaukee the same drill battery charger combo kit is twice the price as other stores that is absolutely outrageous they do have good customer service they’re not helping the local contractors by doubling the price I will never buy any of that there I understand a little markup for double the price I’m gonna start checking the prices for all the little things I stop in there to see how outrageous that is unreal

If you like dealing with people that are always grumpy, sigh and roll their eyes, and give attitude when asked for help, and have never heard of the word "thank you" or "you're welcone" , then I would recommend coming to this over priced, horrible service, and very dirty hardware store.

They're the local small town hardware store that has most of what ya need at inflated prices. Those prices are marginally offset by not have to drive 2o miles into town to the nearest big box store.
