Like many others, I patronize this store because it is very close to my home. There is a frequent turn-over rate, so the same issues are not properly addressed. The store is sometimes closed during posted operating hours. Cleanliness is lacking, aisles are cluttered with trip hazards, the entrance is a mess and not at all inviting, and the walkways out front are blocked with carts. Employees are not identifiable. It would be great if customers could make product requests. Upper management does not take pride in their Wayland store.

The new staff is great and have improved this store tremendously since taking over 6 months ago. The store needs to be bigger as it's smaller than most dollar general stores but has the same amount of inventory. A little bit of everything at more than reasonable prices. Definitely headed in the right direction.

I HATE this store. I want to like it because of mostly kind employees and the convenient location. Every third experience here is a source of contention. Customers do not come first- the second employee doesn’t help at the registers and the line get long. The employees lack training and sympathy. They should have even a uniform t-shirt so customers know who work there. The computer is junk. Customers can’t request specific items, the aisles are too small for displays blocking aisles, there is always clutter. Where is upper management?

I really like the staff here, and I appreciate their service, but when it comes to buying pre-paid cards I have been scammed my them multiple times. It’s fraud and theft. Very disappointing. It’s obviously a corporate policy issue. None of the Wayland staff is responsible for this. (They obviously put in a lot of work during the lockdowns, and now that that’s over the store is looking fabulous thanks to their efforts)

Not going to lie, this is far and away the worst DG I've ever seen, and I'm from Alabama so that should tell you something. Clutter, odd design, stock all over, employees on cell phones, no manager to take a return due to being on break for the next 20 minutes lol. Just no good at all... Take your business elsewhere.

This place is always dirty. You cant walk down the aisles without hitting something with your cart or tripping. It's just disgusting. And most of the employees just stand around doing nothing. How about do your job and stock the shelves instead of leaving it in the middle of the aisles. One time there was no employee in the store at all for quite some time. I could have walked away with so much merchandise. Not that I would but i could have. The management here sucks!!!!!

During my visit here I was greeted by the cashier's when I came into the store. At checkout they were absolutely pleasant! Store was clean and organized. You ladies ROCK! (Did not see any men there)

This store is getting worse everytime I go in there. Shelves are a mess, stuff just thrown on them and in no order at all. Clothes are not on hangers only a few and the rest are just thrown on shelf, some on the floor. Boxes of stock everywhere, it's getting out of control. The employees are very nice but the store is horrible.

I generally love DG but this place needs serious help. There's carts of stock in nearly every aisle waiting to be put away. It can be a real challenge to navigate around the carts. Lots of out of stock here. It's a shame, the help is great but overwhelmed.

Allways carts in the aisle. Hard to sell items when they are blocked by your carts of new items. The cashiers are not always pleasant to deal with. I get that it is not their fault.This place needs to be shut down and gutted. Start over. Its difficult to even get in the door to shop. And forget using a cart here. You can hardly find one let alone get it out of the pathetic cart corral.Enough said? Corporate DG please PLEASE help this store.

Great dollar store for quick stops! I make a lot of quick stops for a meal item I don't have at home. Also, they sell beer and cigarettes! Best pitstop for those things, better deals than the gas station!

The young man who checked me out was friendly and nice. The store was a mess. Stocking carts blocked the aisles in several places, the shelves looked neglected and the overall feeling was of a cramped, dirty store. Not a place I'll be visiting again anytime soon

No bathrooms makes for my 3 year old having an accident in the van. I'm a paying customer I should be able to take my child to use the restroom. Good clearance though.

Dollar General as a whole is a great store to stop in and grab a few items. The prices are reasonable and there is a wide variety of items as well. The Wayland Dollar General however, is a dirty little hole in the wall. It's cramped and messy that doesn't seem to be well staffed or maintained.

To the lady working at the dollar general in Wayland that watched me struggle in the checkout line, I hope you have a good reason for being so cold. Watching me with my 3 kids(2 out of 3 crying), as I’m letting people pass me in line bc I didn’t have my money out/ was dealing with me kids. Then told me I was in the wrong lane and made me move all of my items to “her cash register”. I accidentally put them all down at the wrong spot, on the counter 10 feet from her. She watched me move each item by myself( with only one hand) and didn’t move an inch to help. She waited as I had to stop and deal with my kids and stood staring at me like I was making her life hard. I hope that lady never has to feel the way I felt in those moments of utter defeat and chaos. & to all the MANY people waiting in line behind me that didn’t offer to help either, I have less faith in humanity because of you. The struggle was real tonight and I desperately needed a helping hand or small ounce of kindness. 😔 smh.

The store sits at the center of town yet it's allowed to look like a dump. Inside and out. The staff all look fresh from county or a methadone clinic.

Typical DG and despite people saying ng it's cluttered etc.. which it is but really that's the norm for these stores the employees here are always friendly and get us checked out quickly and that's not the norm.
