We drove across Oakland County returned to Nel's after 4 years. Our dog loved Nels when we lived in the area. He would get the entire butt wags. We've tried finding a groomer near us but haven't been happy with them. He's not typically an anxious dog and gets anxious with groomers now. Well, we had enough of that and drove back to Nel's. For the first time in years he was happy at the groomers. I really think a lot of it is Nel. She works with the dogs. She took her time. She let's the dogs hang out instead of crating, which our pup much prefers. We will keep going back.

My dog is absolutely terrified of getting his nails trimmed, but this place is amazing and so quick with him. He has definitely warmed up to them a lot! I moved to Waterford, and we still make the drive to come see them to get his nails done because of how great they are. Highly recommend!

I cannot say enough good things about their cat groomer. The first huge plus was they were the only cat groomer with next day availability. My cat is in his retirement years, has joint issues and is long haired with some matting. He came home looking so dapper with his new hair cut. I am extremely happy with the entire experience. Very worth the 30min drive for cat owners!

We've been a loyal customer here for years. But now there's a "difficulty " fee, they suggest medicating the dog? Of course they suggest just scheduling every 6 weeks to "fix her issues" Something has changed. My 12 pound dog was there for over 4 hours, I finally had to picked her up, and her cut was not complete. This morning my dog won't put weight on her left front paw, due to a slice on her paw. Won't be back here.

I was so pleased with my dog's appearance when I picked him up. The staff there clearly love what they do as well as loving the pups. I highly recommend Li'l Nells.

I’ll start with this; their team is passionate and caring, this is highly appreciated. I’m a very anxious and overly excited person much like our dog DaVinci and their team understood this before even knowing us. This was DaVinci’s first time visiting a groomer. Very honest and they did a wonderful job with him. I was so excited to see the amazing job they did, DaVinci was so excited and happy when we reunited. I asked several questions about his time there, the whole team was more than happy to converse and share about his experience. Really cannot ask for anything more than this. A+ can’t wait to do it again :D

I had a “Grooming emergency” this morning. My regular groomer was closed due to a family matter. I made the call to Lil’ Nell’s hoping they could take my poor doodle. The lady on the phone was so nice! She understood my situation and got us in same day! When we got there, the owner , groomer, was so over the top nice and compassionate for my doodles situation. Everyone there was so nice with smiles on their faces! You could tell they love what they do!Nell did a fabulous job on my doodle! I am so blessed I found lil Nell’s! We are switching to them permanently! I would highly recommend! They truly love what they do and do such a wonderful job! I can’t thank them enough!!!! Would give more stars if I could!!

Very happy with the work. Doggie was totally relaxed, waiting patiently curled up in the room where other dogs were getting groomed. No cage for her to wait in.She looks beautiful ❤️

I've been a customer for over 2 years but I will not go backThey are now charging a " difficulty" fee if your pet is being "difficult" , what pet wouldn't be if your there for 5 hours, a human would get tired.I have a shorkie when I went to pick him up, they didn't buff his nails either, they were sharpAnd they said take him for a walk, they will smooth out, they said we wouldn't want to hurt the dog.I then got very frustrated with the groomer, I demanded to speak with the manager especially about their difficulty fee they charge.Her answer to that was " well maybe if you got him neutered he would behave better"They lost a customer just over that comment

Years ago I used to take my dog here. Then they nearly sliced off his paw pad and gave him back to me bleeding, as if nothing had even happened. When I saw the blood all over the back seat of my car I went back in and asked what happened. They said they must have nicked him with the razor. This wasn't a nick -- almost the entirety of his footpad was detached, deep into the footpad. It was basically a flap. I took him to the vet, where they put him on antibiotics and patched him up ($300). I told the vet I was told it was done by an accidental razor nick and he gave me a look like, "Yeah, right. :/"This was the second time my baby came home with cuts. Never again.I don't know how my previous review on here was deleted, but I'm reposting it so others are aware.

I really appreciate the professionalism and complete lack of judgment, when I first brought my elderly dog in a few months ago he was a hot mess, and we needed help. I have a hard time finding a groomer because he has some health issues others tend to ignore, but I’m completely comfortable leaving him there. I just followed the groomers advice and brought him back every 3 weeks, now he looks amazing & feels more comfortable. I make sure to prebook his next appointment when I check out because they’re very busy, and it helps me to remember 🐶 the photo is before and after todays groom

I just bought King a month ago. He's only 12 weeks, 3 pounds, mini poodle. He was very scared at first. He's never been to get groomed before. They were very understanding, patient and caring to King. They handled him with care and when I picked him up, he was happy. Playing with the staff let's me know he felt secure. He wasn't nervous and shaking which means I'm a forever customer.

This salon is absolutely amazing! My 85lb bulldog/pit mix was having some issues after a bad experience at another salon. They took the time to call and inform me and after taking all necessary pre-cautions , allowed me in the back to help calm him during his bath. My other 65lb pit/lab mix LOVED his bath! I have 2 great looking and smelling dogs. Thank you Lil Nells for the amazing service!

I was introduced to this place about 9 months ago thru a friend. I am an exotic pet owner, I have a fully domesticated pet skunk. She is a huge part of my business and my family's life. I am not one to trust my little Shelly to anyone , and when I first went to this place I was super impressed. All these ladies and one dude were so welcoming to her and me. This is very unusual for the most part because she is a skunk so everyone is always very skeptical because of her being a skunk. They always take awesome care of her and make her look and smell great. she has very special paws and nails that need to be taken care of a certain way and they always make sure to do it correctly. I love that I can drop her off and know that she will be taken care of properly.

I've been taking my dog there for almost a year for daycare. He loves it and I love it. It may not be as fancy as some of the other places around, but my dog gets to pay ALL day long, unlike some of the other daycares. There are no kennels, just room for play time. They have great pricing and the employees are great!

I recently wrote a scathing review about not being able to get in and feeling like they didn’t care about their families. I was wrong in feeling that way and under normal circumstances I wouldn’t have overreacted. Dealing with the pending death of my lab, who was my first dog and my best friend, and watching him deteriorate has taken a toll. They actually do a very nice job and have wonderful tolerance and patience for all dogs (and their owners apparently). Nell was quick to reach out yesterday and that was very much appreciated.

I was coming here regularly to get my cat groomed regularly and I loved it. However, recently I started having issues with the only cat groomer there. Last time I came, my appointment was at 9:00 and she didnt show up until like 9:30, so I was waiting there with my cat for a half hour. I said okay whatever maybe she was having a bad day and decided to give the salon another go today. I scheduled my appointment again at 9. I come in, and the receptionist tells me that the person I am scheduled with changed her hours to start at 11 today and they asked if I could come back at 11. Nobody called me beforehand to ask if I could reschedule or anything. I felt like my time was not valued and I was upset. I will be taking my cat elsewhere from now on.

The best! The teenagers at a big chain said they couldn't cut my dogs anymore because one has arthritis and one has warts. Nell takes great care of them. Wouldn't take them anywhere else!
