Absolutely lovely theatre. They do all they can to make you feel welcome on both the employey and customer sides. I love the place so much. And they never disappoint when it comes to decorating and costumes for movies.

Love this great Hometown Theater. I just wish more people would understand what a jewel this is to the community of Vassar. Andre works very hard to make sure everything is perfect. The popcorn is fresh, the seats are clean, beautiful atmosphere. Sad to know he might have to sell. You never know how good you had something until it's gone. Praying this doesn't happen here.

Stopped in for the first time since moving to Vassar to catch the D&D movie.The staff were courteous, they had interactive elements setup that pertained to the theme, the viewing room was clean, and popcorn was good. It may not be the IMAX, but there’s something to be said about the smaller, art-deco, marquee style theaters and the experience they have to offer. Ticket prices were extremely reasonable.I’ll definitely be going back when there’s something I’d like to see being shown.

What an awesome art Deco style theater! The service was fantastic! Popcorn was delicious! Everything was clean and polished! The owner gave my daughter a free poster as we left which just doesn't happen these days... I can't say enough great things about this theater!

Hadn't been in this theatre in many years and was happy to go see Elvis movie with a friend. Seats are very comfortable, popcorn 🍿 was excellent, and I was thankful their Restrooms are on their main floor.I've been to a couple where the restrooms are in the basement part of these older Theater's but those are much older theaters. Decent price for seniors.

Love this theatre!! Restored to its former glory from the art deco age. Celebrating 80 years. The new owner is there every showing greeting his patrons. It's always neat and clean. And the bathroom is fun to go visit in a good way. It's so pretty.

We used Vassar Theatre for our daughters birthday. Private rental and it was amazing. Everyone had a great time. Staff were very attentive. Prices were reasonable. If you are looking for a fun birthday outing consider using Vassar Theatre.

This theatre offers something that the big places can't give. The love put into operating this business is evident in every aspect. It's clean, the decor and atmosphere are gorgeous and welcoming. The staff always go above and beyond to make your experience a memorable one.Tickets and refreshments are reasonable and the popcorn is amazing! This business is an asset to Vassar.

Fantastic theater with a very nostalgic feel. Lots of art deco touches in the decor.I was very pleased with their super clean bathrooms with a nice sitting room if you need to calm down a cranky toddler (or nurse)and the sound for the movie is piped into the bathroom so you don't have to miss EVERYTHING if you have to pee.Fantastic popcorn as well!

Wonderful and clean place! We took our 2 and a half year old there to see Toy Story 4. They had toys out for kids to play with before the movie and if it's your child's first time to the movies, they have gifts for your child to pick out of their "first time movie goer" bag! Would definitely recommend!

This theater is a little gem! It's sits in the quaint town of Vasser. The marquee sign out front is just a taste of the original vibe you'll find inside. The decor takes you back in time. The bathroom is always neat & tidy as is the theater it's self. The ticket prices and concessions are both so affordable. The seating is comfy and the decor inside the actual theater is beautiful. Real red curtains parts to view the screen. I always try to visit this theater with out of town guests. It's a great experience! They also support the animal shelters and raise money for them too. Do yourself a favor and visit this great lil place!

Amazing!! Loved the decor and it's much cheaper than other movie theatres! The Art Deco theme is carried out even in the bathrooms and they have the huge curtain down in front of the screen. It's the perfect place to go for a girls night, a family movie, or to just add a twist to a regular date night.

I am happy to say our experience here is always great. This theater is always clean and well taken care of. The staff is always extremely friendly and the snacks are a good value compared to other cinemas. This place is a great local asset to Vassar and surrounding communities.

I love that the owner always decorates or offers concession specials based on the movie playing. Just saw Jungle Book and got the Mowgli combo with me niece and she loved the matching jungle bracelets. They also had face painting and a drawing for prizes. The owner often greets you before the movie starts to share upcoming events. He is so supportive of the community and other businesses in town. The workers are always friendly and helpful. I love this gem!

Our family loves Vassar Theatre. The atmosphere of this beautifully restored vintage theater can't be beat. On top of that the prices are the best around. You can actually afford to take your whole family to see a movie here. They run a mix of first-run blockbusters and smaller production company family and faith based films.

They took the threat of the covid-19 serious. The theater was clean and we felt comfortable. The had protective covers on the arm rests that were thrown out after the show and had rows blocked off for distance between others. Enjoyable experience!

I have been coming to this movie theatre since it was opened by Andreas. The place is beautiful, clean, and taken care of like a vintage cinema should be....and wesley is very handsome and friendly. I will continue to support this theatre. I'm glad someone cares enough to give me an authentic cinema house experience. It means everything to me.

Vassar Theater is more than just a movie experience. The owners, Andreas and Susan Fuchs are supportive to the community. They collaborate with other businesses and non profit organizations and offer raffles of fun prizes to people who attend the movies. And Andreas personally welcomes the public to each movie showing. The decor is very nice. Seating is comfortable. Snacks and popcorn is very good. I highly recommend coming to see a movie here. There is a parking lot behind the theater or on the main street.

Nice theater but the guy in charge was a bit rude. We walked in and asked if he was open and he said "the door is open isn't it, the lights are on aren't they, can you smell popcorn" ?
