Lovely laid-back spot with great menu choices and decent beer. The server was very kind and the food arrived quickly and was delicious. The only thing that wasn't great is the lower level restrooms for both men and women were out of service. I'm not sure for how long. I witnessed an elderly woman try to go up the stairs to use the restroom, but it 2 steps up and many more to go she deemed the steep route too risky and she had to leave. Luckily they had yet to order. I hope they found somewhere more accommodating nearby. Be wary of restroom status if it's high on your priority list. I have horrible knees and I didn't even want to try those stairs and decided to wait for better restroom opportunity.

We visited for happy hour and loved it. The space, the vibe, the view. All amazing. And the beer was good too, but we knew it would be living in Dexter where Jolly Pumpkin originated.

Jolly Pumpkin is a well-known local haunt. The environment around you reminds me of a place the Hogwarts kids would go to enjoy a meal. Which I absolutely loved. As an appetizer, we ordered the garlic fries. They were cooked to perfection. I ordered the Cuban Sandwich, which I was disappointed with. Entirely way too much mustard and very little mayo. Mixed with spicy pickles, it was too bitter, which took away from the sandwich. Our waitress was fantastic as she was very helpful and prompt. Overall, the experience was pleasant. If we return, I will choose another entree.

We parked at here, bicycles around the peninsula and then enjoyed a beer and lunch. Nicest wait staff possible. Out drink choices all excellent and we’d recommend any of them — Little Island King strong stout, Lake Michigan Tuna IPA and Boo Cherry cider. For lunch we had the Cuban sandwich and Cheesy BLTs. Big delicious portions leading to take home boxes. The sweet potato fries exceptional: thin with a crispy snap. All in all a great place to go.

My wife and I are frequent fliers of the Traverse City area and have been to Jolly Pumpkin a couple times! Cool Halloween/Hogwarts type of atmosphere! Service has always been good for us when we go!On this visit we did a beer flight to start with a cup of the Cheddar Ale Soup. The soup was really good, especially with the rainy and cold weather that evening! For our meals we ordered the White pizza and the Chicken + Pasta. The pizza was out of this world good! Flavors were on point and the pizza dough is my absolute favorite. So warm and soft! I’ll get this pizza every visit. The Chicken + Pasta was a different story. You can tell the dish had been sitting for some time waiting for the pizza to be ready. It was luke warm when we received it and honestly it reminded me of a cold pre-made pasta salad you could get at your local grocery store deli area. Hardly any chicken in the dish, pizza had more than the pasta dish did. Flavors were just okay. Again, cold and tasted pre-made. Honestly I forgot to even take a picture, I just wasn’t impressed. If you try Jolly Pumpkin definitely get a pizza or two.

Really dark inside and some of the TVs need to be replaced they have that green annoying tint. Food was AWFUL, I don’t day this much, but awful. The chicken pasta had ZERO flavor. I didn’t know it was possible to make a pesto dish without flavor but Jolly Pumpkin sure knows how. Also got the vegetarian pizza and it was better than the pasta but not good, the bites with the olives were good but other than that the pizza was horrible.Go somewhere else.

Great food in a great location make this a place worth seeking out when in the Traverse City area. This outpost of the Jolly Pumpkin is located on Old Mission Peninsula near the beautiful shores of West Grand Traverse Bay. While the restaurant is not situated with views of the water, the property is gorgeous and there is a very nice outdoor space for dining and drinking. Many beers are available on tap, including Jolly Pumpkin's own brews as well as brews from other producers. The food is excellent. The menu is classic American, but very well-executed. On a recent visit, we had the Cherry Pecan salad, a mushroom pizza, and a fried perch sandwich. All were fresh and full of flavor. It takes a bit of effort to get there from downtown Traverse City, but the journey along Peninsula Drive is beautiful any time of year. Jolly Pumpkin is worth a visit!

Had a great meal (lunch) with the family. The waitress was wonderful and very accommodating with food allergies! Many mugs on ceiling for owners to come in and have a drink. Good music was a bonus. I had a cherry pecan salad and others had American Wagyu beef burgers.Parking: Plenty of parking in surface lot

My wife and I came here for the first time in summer of 2019. It was busy on the night we went so we spent our wait sitting on a hill on their property looking over the road and enjoying the scenery of lake Michigan. When we got in, we sat upstairs and enjoyed our meal. This summer when we were in Traverse City, we made a point to head there for a late lunch. Surprisingly, it was backed up at like 3pm when we were there but we wanted to eat there and we were ok waiting. We sat on the hill and enjoyed the view some more. Our server was friendly and quick when we asked for items and the food was good. I feel like the prices were pretty reasonable and the portions were nice. They served some chips when we sat down that I don't recall from our first visit. They had an interesting taste... Turmeric? The first couple I didn't know what to think but they became addicting. My wife had French onion soup and salad and enjoyed those. I had the wagu burger and enjoyed it. The cheese seemed maybe a bit over cooked but was still good. All in all, both times, we had a good time there and like to return. The first time, I picked up a bottle of their bourbon for my dad who enjoys bourbon and he enjoined the bottle.

Food was very good. Portions are very generous , all entrees could easily be shared . The fries were cooked perfectly. The sour ale was also good. The entire restaurant is in a nice secluded area by itself so

If you love sour craft beers this is the place to go. Great originals and you can see why they have spread out beyond Traverse City. Decent pub food selection. Staff was good.

Had an amazing experience at this jolly pumpkin! We had the whitefish dip appetizer, french onion soup, wedge salad, a pizza, AND dessert... and can I just say we ate a little of everything and loved it ALL! Love their beers we tried a couple and were not disappointed by any. Needless to say we more then enjoyed the whole evening there! Definitely give this place a try if you haven't!

Staff and bar gets an A+. My pulled pork nachos were HEAVILY seasoned with chili powder, as was the salsa. Terrible. Chili powder does not belong on pulled pork nachos ever. Or in salsa. The hand pulled mushroom pizza was a perfect circle and looked suspiciously like a frozen pizza. Tasted like one too… we live locally and have been to JP several times but l think this is our last time, as each time the food quality has declined. Also the Cuban sandwich was more like a grilled ham and cheese on a hoagie bun. We even asked ahead of ordering if it was a pressed sandwich and was assured it was. It was a little squished but not cooked in a press like a Cuban should be, its an essential component of s Cuban sandwich.

Wonderful spot with a charming, homey feel. The food was great! We got the mushroom pizza and the crab tots. The crab tots were much more like mini crab cakes than tater tots. Crispy, light, and filled with crab! The pizza was outstanding, with an amazing sauce.

Great location with great views of the water. The food was so flavorful and worth the money. This location also hosts weddings and other events too. The restaurant is an old building that makes you feel like you are in a log cabin in the woods. The whitefish dip is definitely a must!!

The food is so good and the outdoor seating is lovely! They have heat lamps so you don’t get cold and the sour selection is amazing. Glad to have this gem on the peninsula!!! (Also, don’t forget to ask about the history!)

The drive up the peninsula to this little gem is so picturesque and once you get there, the vibe is a mix of friendly and haunting with all the tales of the ghost who haunts this place! The brews are on point and so is the food! Definitely recommend!

Great stop for lunch before starting a (self-guided) wine tasting tour!Super cute restaurant (and wedding venue) overlooking the Grand Traverse bay just north east of Travese City. We went in the fall, it can get very busy so we got there early, very shortly after it opened. Standard simple brewery fare and fun flights of their beer with a nice cosy laid back atmosphere.I gave 4 stars for the general "cuteness" (not in a girly way so don't be scared off fellas haha), service and overall atmosphere was good and it seemed very family friendly. I knocked a star off because the food didn't woo me (2.5-3 star) and the veggie wrap I ordered was, unfortunately, quite awful (bland tasting and falafel not cooked), but they did let me order something else which was a bit of a wait, but I nibbled on some of my friends meals and they seemed to enjoy theirs!

Thought the variety was amazing! Didn’t know what I wanted so I had the meat pizza! Only could eat half. The appetizer chips are mouth watering! And the dip...mmmmm. So glad we found a local place that even has their own brew! Maybe they will bottle it someday... The beach front is a perfect place to watch the sunset!

Amazing food and atmosphere. Very fine menu with fresh ingredients that make for an excellent meal. The dessert was absolutely incredible and one of the best slices of pizza I've ever had.

I’ve been to Old Mission Peninsula a handful of times, and had no idea there was a Jolly Pumpkin here! Let alone I was completely unaware of its history until I came onto Google. Which completely explains my off feeling I had in the women’s bathroom - I felt like I was being watched and I just felt the need to rush out. Now reading the history.. I am just like wow it all makes sense. I seriously had no idea and didn’t think too much into it. Overall the restaurant felt unique and rustic. Service was good + fast , and the food was tasty. Enjoyed the complementary chips & dip.
