Did a wine tasting there today! It was okay, not our favorite but the views are amazing in all seasons! Great seating inside and outside!

We have come to this area and visited many of the region's wineries several times. Chateau Grand Traverse stands out above them all. Do yourself a favor and come outside of the busy time of year (summer and fall) so you can have more time for a tasting without the crowds. Jacob was especially knowledgeable of the history of the vineyard the wines they serve, he helped us find all of our favorite wines on the menu. Highly recommend this as a stop on your wine tour.

This winery is beautiful. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio and sipping some wine. The wines we tasted were good quality and the prices were fairly cheap ($10 tasting and wine by the glass $8 each) and the glasses you use are complimentary gifts.Service was also great. Overall no complaints and a very enjoyable afternoon.

Great place to visit if you're in the area, probably one of the best winery in Michigan...they have quite a bit of collection of wines, amazing servers and bartenders, timely service. Wine tasting tours are available daily here and costs $10 for 5 wines, of course you get to keep the glass.

We did the winter flight pass in Old Mission Peninsula and visited 9 of the 10 wineries on the list. This was our absolute favorite! It's fairly clear why they are in many major retailers, plus the price is beyond reasonable. Our new favorite MI made wine.

The staff are very friendly and helpful and the place is nice, clean, and welcoming. The gift shop is full of kitschy items, some of which are completely unrelated to wine -- think Buckee's but for vineyards. The wine itself is, well, no bueno. I'm not a wine snob by any means, but the wine just wasn't great. But hey -- taste is subjective so please, feel free to try it for yourself!

Chateau Grand Traverse by far exceeded our expectations. We had lower expectations as their wine is available in supermarkets but those expectations were exceeded exponentially. Staff were friendly, inviting, and knowledgeable. Kathy in particular was a superstar; we would come back again without hesitation.

Take away wine glass was nice. Have been visiting this area for years and decided to try Chateau Grand Traverse for a first time. We quickly realized our reception was far from friendly. She overlooked the person behind who was waiting to order snacks. Kathy was curt and made it very clear she was short with words. Confirmation came quickly when the gentleman next to us said they felt the way. Heads up, flights are not possible. One must stand for any tastings.

Good winery. Very big selection of wines. Staff was very helpfull and friendly. Has a cute gift shop. It costs $8.00 to taste 5 wines. Great experience learning about their wines and processes. Would consider visiting again.

I loved their variety of cherry wine, but not the wait getting it. I purchased their sweet water, which was amazing. Their Grand Traverse late harvest was phenomenal as well for anyone who loves sweet whites. Didn't have any great views but I played in their grapes. Would return for their cheap prices! $3 for 5 tastings, $5 includes their reserve wine options.

I was ordering a gift certificate over the phone for a private tasting and Jacob made the process extremely simple & was very helpful. He gave great details on the whole process which was much appreciated since this was for a gift. Wonderful guest service!

This place has a very sophisticated ambiance. Everything about it was very meticulous and clean. The wine tasting was the best that we had in Traverse City. The cherry wines were especially unique and noteworthy. We also took a guided tour of the vineyards and winery, which were amazing. The guide was very patient with all of our questions and really took the time to explain and elaborate on everything that he could.

Great selection of wines, tons of cherry flavors. They have dries, sweets, semi sweets, something for every pallet. Staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. I love the large selection of cute and unique items in the gift shop. Such a large selection of gifts for wine lovers.

Chateau Grand traverse is consistently in my favorite wineries in the Traverse City area. I love the transparency, reasonably priced, and variety available. The varietals change some year to year but maintain quality and flavor you'd expect. The tasting room usually offers some unique products I haven't had before in addition to the staples I'm accustomed to. If you're lucky sometimes there are vintage library releases available to purchase or a little extra to taste. The winery offers fantastic views and outdoor seating to enjoy a glass.

My rating is about the vineyard since I don't drink wine. The store has many options of souvenirs, but I missed grape juice for selling. It would be amazing to find it there.

Beautiful winery, even on a rainy day. Have a nice patio area that is covered and protected in the rain. Very nice set up for COVID safety, but we went early and they weren't very busy. Our pourer was very kind and knowledgeable. Seems like one of the few places you can still do a tasting. And their prices vary so you can choose something affordable or pricey. Really enjoyed our time here.

Excellent wine selection (especially for a Riesling lover like my wife and I)! The server said they produce over 18% of all Michigan's Riesling. Very nice service and exceptionally proceed wines. I see why they are the biggest producing winery in northern Michigan.

Chateau Grand Traverse is a fun stop for good, reasonably cheaper priced wines. They have a large patio area as well as their tasting counter. Typically a long line, opt for a glass to head outside and skip the tasting line.

We went to several different wineries in the peninsula and I vote this winery to be the best and here's why:1) Very affordable - for $5 you get to taste five different wines and, thanks to COVID, you get to keep your wine glass as a souvenir. Not only that the tasting is affordable but the wines themselves are very tasty and affordable. Don't you hate it when you do a tasting and the great wines that you'd like to bring home cost >$50/bottle? Not with this place! I tried their low to high end and everything in between and I was just as satisfied with the low $13/bottle wine than I did the $30/bottle. So yes, you can bring a few bottles home for yourself and even gift some of their nicer wines without breaking the bank. Also great discount on bulk purchases or if you're in the military :)2) Location location location! Just outside of the property is a great lookout spot so ready your cameras. Also, when it's not freezing outside, you can walk around the property with a great view.3) COVID-conscious. This is the best COVID-safety practicing winery that we went to. With that, there's a tradeoff where they don't take reservations for tasting and there may be longer lines as they only allow <6 groups (3 for tasting while the other 3 waiting) with <4 people/group so go there early as there was a line even before their doors open. All of their staff was knowledgeable with their wines and very hospitable. My personal recommendations? Any one of their Riesling (I am typically a full-bodied red wine person but theirs are just nice and tasty), cab reserve, cherry port and the Etcetera family.

Fun spot! Knowledgeable and very friendly servers/tenders, decent wine, and a cute shop! They also had good food options, though I didn’t try them so I can’t speak on them. Very good prices as well!!

Very nice winery. The tasting is truly a tasting (e.g. 1oz pour) 5 wines for $5!The server was knowledgeable and very pleasant. There is an educational video when you enter the tasting room that explains this vineyard’s winemaking process.Wines are affordable. The 2016 Silhouette Red Wine is fantastic! Best quality wine on the peninsula.Facility is very clean and well designed. I would say I could hang with Napa vineyards without any of the stuffiness. Also has good Covid protocols.

This winery never disappoints. Their wines are the best value on the peninsula. We bought a case of several varietals. Their staff is friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable.
