On our last night at Crystal Mountain, we enjoyed dinner at The Thistle. We liked the cozy, elevated atmosphere of the restaurant although it is a casual fine dining place, where people can grab drinks and dinner after a round of golf or a family can get burgers and wings. The burger is delicious and the upgrade to The Thistle fries was a great decision. We recommend ordering The Thistle fries. We also had the wings with bbq sauce and ranch, a side of the Parmesan risotto, and udon noodles. Everything was flavorful and would be ordered again.

My wife and I ate here last night after a few hours of skiing. Staff and waitress was very nice and provided good service. We ordered the thistle fries for an appetizer and they were outstanding. Best food of the night. I decided to get the Butcher Block which was a 16 oz ribeye. It ended up being $75 for the steak, which seems steep for a ribeye, especially considering it was one of the worst ribeye's I think I've ever tasted. I don't understand how, but this steak had basically zero flavor, and was extremely chewy. I ordered it medium rare, and it was barely pink in the center. I should have sent it back and complained, however, the food took a while to come out and after a few hours of skiing, I was ready to go home. Very disappointed that a $75 ribeye could be cooked so bad. My wife got the halibut which was decent but dry with no seasoning, also a bit disappointing for a $50 piece of fish. Would come back here only for drinks and thistle fries.

The Food was epic and the experience was perfect!! We booked their private room for our Wedding Dinner and loved it. They let us pick a menu to keep things simple, we had a room to ourselves, and the waiter was very kind/attentive. I cannot wait to go back......PS - the Butchers Cut will literally melt in your mouth, the best steak i have every eaten

We ate at the Thistle last evening. It was the first dinner out solo my wife and I have had for a long time. Our server was excellent and so was another woman who checked on us.The manager was polite but it was one comment from him regarding our overly fishy $48 Seabass special that really sunk the experience. The fish itself was so fishy that the flavor even seeped into the risotto it was served with. My wife and I are no strangers to eating fish or dining out and when the manager asked how the food was we told him. His response was delivered politely but felt pretty condescending:“Have you ever had sea bass before? It is a white fish and is does have a more robust flavor.” Something to that effect. We were pretty sure that was not our experience so quick search yielded this result. (See picture) I guess decide for yourself. As a token of goodwill they offered a free dessert which we took and it really was disappointing. It was an espresso cookie that seemed like it was maybe a few days old.My chicken sous vide was delicious and we both ate all of that. Together we ate maybe half of the Seabass, we even ordered more sauce to try to balance or mask the fishiness, but shame on us for not sending it back.

Loved this place! Cute little restaurant tucked away in crystal mountain. Really nice menu, food and cocktails were delicious and server was very accommodating to my gluten/dairy free friend. Will def come again. Really enjoyed it.Vegetarian options: , yummy salads etc.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free bread

This is the "fancy" restaurant at Crystal Mountain Resort. It is definitely their most high-end restaurant, but it still has a casual resort-like feel to it, and we were totally fine bringing our young children here. I do wish that their kids' menu was a little more adventurous than the standard cheeseburger/pizza/chicken nugget stuff, so we ordered them some smaller dishes off the regular menu, which they enjoyed. Our food was hit-and-miss; the mixed cheese and sausage appetizer was great, but the entrees were just so-so.

Husband took me here after treating me to a Spa day at Crystal Spa. Food and staff were great, and took excellent saftey precautions. Great atmosphere and delicious food.Had a wonderful visit and I 100% recommend the Cajun Crab Cakes as a starter, and their Moscow Mules are top notch.

I first want to say the accommodations and golf was great. For the second year The Thistle left us disappointed. We had a Party of 8 and thought we would try it again. They had a special Butchers Cut 16 oz Rib Eye two thought they would split it. One had the bone and about 2 oz of meat and the other had the chunk of fat and 2 oz of meat for $ 70.00. Another in our party ordered a hamburger done medium, well after they tried to cook his second and again cooked it WELL DONE he said to just forget it. They did not charge him for his dinner but he left hungry. The next evening we went off property and had an outstanding dinner.

Beautiful ambiance and tasty food. Pricey for what it is, but good. Generous portions, in my opinion, and lots of options for the gluten-sensitive and/or vegetarian crowd. The brie on the appetizer menu was amazing. I got the grain bowl thing with sweet potatoes (awesome) and my youngest got the sweet pea ravioli. The other two got burgers - all delicious.

This is one good food place at crystal mountain. We had a lunch there and it was really nice. Thistle fries are delicious and you should try them if you are dining in there; the food is reasonably priced. The ambiance is cozy and perfect for lunch or dinner with friends or family. Parking is nearby so you don’t need to walk a lot in snow.

We were a party of 11 and the waitress did a wonderful job taking care of us. Overall, we were happy with a majority of our meals. The reason I am only giving it 3 stars is due to having an entire beer spilled on me by the waitress. She ran away embarrassed (completely understand) and a couple of others rushed over to make sure it wasn't in my food and to grab me a new chair. Very helpful. My shirt, my shorts, and even my shoes were saturated in beer. I was very positive about it and supportive of the waitress. The restaurant didn't offer to take the meal or beer off the bill. That was disappointing and should have been a natural response by the restaurant. Sadly, being the nice guy didn't help. A very pricey and wet meal.

Quality of food has been really compromised over the past year. Ordered the Thankgiving dinner and the food was so "off" and not enough to feed the four if us even though it was advertised as being plenty for 4. Overall, the meal was a total disappointment and definitely NOT up to the quality of our past experience! The menu selections have dwindled down so much and again, the quality of the food has really gone down. Many of the menu items are grossly over priced! All in all after several different trys only to be disappointed we're going to take our business elsewhere. So sad, Thistle used to be such a great place to dine😒

Sprouts were exceptional, filet tasted only like the chimchurri that coated it, the carrots and potatoes with the filet were both seasonless and very dry, and the ragu was pretty dry. Drinks were amazing, service was great!

They seated us right away and the menu is quite diverse. However, the waitress was in a bad mood and acted like she needed to translate everything to me. We ordered the Walleye and the tuna and they were both excellent, but the prawns were overdone and our strawberry tart with ice cream came out soupy with a white melted ice cream slurry. Despite the many mistakes, they did not do anything about it. And there was a large group of drunk golfers who ruined the ambiance. So although the food was good, the experience was unpleasant and the manager did not offer us any reasons to return despite the high bill.

Terrible service. Placed an order on the phone and the call was "Disconnected". We called back to confirm the order. We were told we would receive a text when the food was ready. After waiting an hour we called and they said they sent several texts. They had the WRONG number!! We spent $91 for cold food and we had items missing. My son said the girl was laughing about. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!

I went here at 3pm on a busy Saturday. All staff were very nice and eager to serve. Being a bus driver I did not try any drinks. I did get hot chocolate which was served to me in a clear glass square coffee cup. Should have been a mug. The hot chocolate was very watery even with whipped cream. With a very limited one page menu I ordered the open face sirloin sandwich. It was way over cooked and even with the caramelized onions and mushrooms I could hardly eat the quarter inch thick steak. No, I didn't send it back as I should have. I also tried the chili after reading the reviews, I don't think I had the same kind or something. It was very bland and cool, could have been warmerAll in all I would not bother eating here unless you have to, and I would stick to the sandwiches and burgers.

Probably one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. Service was slow, was never asked if I wanted a refill on my drink. I could forgive that if the food was good but it was far from it. The food was terrible. Pretzel bites were hard and over cooked or from the day before. French Fries were burnt to a crisp. My wife and I couldn't even eat our dinners they tasted so bad. I had the sirloin sandwich. The meat was overcooked and terrible on a stale piece of toast. The saffron rice was overcooked and the meat it came with was inedible. Overall just a really terrible experience and the prices are ridiculous. They probably don't care about service or quality of the food because they are basically the only restaurant at the resort.
