We have been here several times now, even once by snowmobile. Staff is very friendly and drinks are fantastic. We did the tour and would recommend it. Place can get busy so keep that in mind. Sheila was very helpful and helped us with making choices with which bottles to purchase and definitely didn't disappoint. We will definitely continue to go back this is a definite stop. ( Going on a trip and have our Iron Fish stickers ready to go)

Another amazing Hats and Horses. The Iron Fish crew is always one upping themselves. If you haven’t been to Iron Fish and are debating head out and make the trip. See Roman or Jessie behind the bar. Both mix phenomenal cocktails and have the gift many mixologists don’t have these days they can engage in conversation and friendly banter. The owners of Iron Fish are always striving to improve every aspect of their service model. Hats off to another phenomenal event and weekend.

We will be back, food was awesome and quick! Olive dip was amazing, old fashions are good and everyone was very nice. We did some tasting and the Gin was by far my favorite which surprised me as I'm not a gin person.

Absolutely the best distillery I've been to! We had a large group and ordered about 8 pizzas. There a mix up on 4 of the pizzas. They were right on fixing this mishap. They apologized, gave us discounts, and free stickers. All around great service.I ordered the Turkish diplomat. So so delicious. The lemon on the side gave a nice boost to the taste! My favorite pizza was the Blue Fern. The description of the pizza sounded interesting. So, I gave it a shot and was pleasantly surprised with a nice blend of flavors. I also tasted the Spinach Inquisition. It was delicious, but I wish the cheese was goat instead of the ricotta. We did some tasting. The most memorable one was the gin and maple syrup bourbon barrel age. I asked for the weirdest one, and that's what they gave. You get 3 taste samples. That one was my favorite. The bathrooms are 2 single use. They're very spacious and clean. One of them has a changing table. They also have highchairs available. There's plenty of parking available outside. There are some pot holes getting to the distillery. So, drive safe!

Such a fun place, definitely worth the trip. A bit off the beaten path but what a great distillery. Would definitely recommend doing a tour, we did the farm/distillery tour and it was very informative, fun and full of lots of delicious samples. We stayed after for another drink and pizza, very tasty. Will definitely visit again.

This place defies the rule of location location location! In the middle of nowhere and not sure how you find it, but it's absolutely excellent! The service is great, the atmosphere is great, the food is limited, but all very good. The main draw is their distillery. They source locally and make unique and excellent whiskeys, gins, vodkas, maple syrup, and many other things. If you can find it, it's worth the drive.

Really enjoyed our stop here. The atmosphere was great!! From the drinks to all of the great team members that help make the establishment such a great place to visit. Kara, Lexi, Alanna, and Danyeil all were very attentive. They all moved quick but were also able to hold a conversation and make us feel welcome. There is also a really cool gift shop next door.

Let me say I love the Ironfish spirits and have purchased many a bottle. This was our 3rd time eating and to summarize, the food is good, but the value is low. Pizza is delicious, but expensive for what you get (not very big and light on toppings for our two pizzas). Ordered the house diet cola (only cola option) and it came in a small glass with lots of ice. Probably 2-3 oz of liquid for $4 and a refill is $2. Hard pass on the house cola. The staff has always been friendly and service is reasonably quick. The alcoholic drinks are good to very good. Ordered the baklava for desert and $9 gets you only two small pieces, so again, I don't feel that is good value.

Really great bourbon for being in Michigan, these guys know what they are doing! It's also a beautiful area to hang out and relax. A must visit for sure!

We have been coming here for years! They really do have some great drinks and maple syrup haha. You can never go wrong with the Wile E Coyote. Loved their colder weather set up - it was very warm in their tent! I would give them a 5 but much like a lot of other places I think they are struggling with getting the help they need! The service has been very slow the last couple times we have visited. The summer months are packed so it’s understandable but even now the service is still just slow. However, we always find their employees friendly and drinks top notch! I recommend but beware of the bumpy ride there!

Outstanding locally crafted spirits, cocktails, and food. The new Still Room and Headwaters bar are beautiful and comfortable. We didn’t get to hear the live music that is often featured, but we’ll be back soon. Great merch silo.

Super friendly staff. Each person was warm, welcoming, willing to help and an overall delight. Amazing pizza (bbq chicken was top notch) and other foods. Cocktails are unique with various types yet not overboard. The atmosphere was exactly what you want for a distillery off the beaten path. I couldn’t recommend higher. You won’t be disappointed .

Great country setting. The drinks are tasty and the food is great. We will be back next year for a full tour. Had a private tasting with the owner and got to see the barrel house.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with the tents/heaters, so I wore multiple layers in case it wasn’t warm enough...I was wrong! Very nice, I took off my coat right away and was comfortable the entire time. The 90-min timeframe goes by fast, so do not be late for your ($15, non-refundable) reservation. I think 2hrs would be best, but we arrived right at opening and put in our orders right away - food/drinks seemed to come out quickly. We would definitely go back! Food was also delicious!!

What an awesome place to visit while I was out there in Michigan for a conference. If I am to return out that way again I will definitely make another stop here. Craig was our tour guide and it was absolutely amazing, the way he interacted with our group and the knowledge she had of that job in distillery were just amazing. I’m not really a gin or vodka or bourbon drinker but their stuff tasted absolutely delicious and it was a really fun time. Then we went inside and had some appetizers and some mixed drinks and everything was so delicious.

Great and comfortable place to hang out and relax. There are some outdoor activities and sometimes music. They give free taste testing at their store. There is a food menu as well. Great selection of mixed drinks.

The cocktails were on point. Maple Moon is a very good coffee hot drink with maple syrup and bourbon, in the perfect balance against the bitter coffee. The Scofflaw (winter seasonal menu) is flawless with bitter balanced against sweet and smoky from the Rye.Beyond the drinks, the staff (Jesse behind the bar, and Natalia, Bernie and Lisa around the joint, with others whose names I didn’t catch) are beyond friendly and engaging. The bar and entire property are top notch and on brand. I cannot recommend Iron Fish strongly enough, and I may come back to tomorrow for Mexican food night with the margarita riff we helped fine tune.

All of their product is exceptional. Took the tour and tasting. Craig (distiller and tour guide) was friendly, funny and knowledgeable. Addition of a brick oven for pizza will only make this place better. Off the beaten path a ways but well worth it. Will be back again. Don't forget a bottle of whiskey barrel maple syrup too!

Wonderful cocktails and food. Not a lot of options for food, but what they have was delicious. A few pizzas, and some good apps. Take a fishtillery tour, sample some bourbon, enjoy love music. It's off the beaten path, but worth the trip

From the second we walked up to the second we stepped back into our vehicle, every person we interacted with was super welcoming, friendly, caring, patient, and funny! We felt like we were at an old friend’s house the entire time. The food was great (Sassage pizza and bacon-spinach dip are on point and every sandwich looked amazing), the drinks were perfect, and the entire vibe of the place was both fun and chill. Our dogs had a nice time, too, and all the staff stopped to say hi and give them some love between trips. We enjoyed it so much on a sunny day that even when we returned on a rainy day, we still had an excellent experience and were treated just as warmly and like honored guests (even with a large bachelor party stumbling in halfway through, we were never left unattended to).Definitely a beautiful destination spot with an awesome story and intentional practices; we will be making many more visits!

Super friendly and knowledgeable about their stuff. 3 free tastings when you arrive so don't miss that! Recommend the Wile E Coyote cocktail if you're feeling minty. Also, the Nutella dessert pizza is aaaasmazing.

Wonderful gem of a distillery and hang-out in Thompsonville, MI.Kid-friendly • Dog-friendly • Relaxed • Clunky service model but worth itIron Fish Distillery is located in the middle of its own farm fields. It’s a working farm where they grow the grain that goes into its spirits. There is an outdoor dining and drinking area and and indoor spot for tastings. It also looks like they have a barn for rent for events. There were yard games off to the side for kids (or big kids) to play and a stage for live music. When seated outside, you order at a counter like you would at a coffee shop. They bring the drinks and food out to your table. This service model can get a bit complicated. First, you have to pay as you go which makes it harder to go back for a second drink. People tend to spend more on a tab because they’re not keeping track and each swipe of the card feels final. There was one point when the line to order got very long and people had empty drinks for a long time. Then because of the rush to order there was a rush at the bar and mistakes were made. Around the same time the music stopped playing and you could sense an actual drop in the joviality. Folks waited a long time (we actually got our drinks way faster than we should have and others who ordered first we’re still waiting) and the second round was not as well-made.Even though I don’t think this is the best service model, in a post-COVID service industry world, you either get 5-stars from me or no review at all. Everyone is doing the best they can. We spoke to one of the servers who said they have 9 employees right now to staff a 5 night schedule and they feel like the owners take good care of them. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable and that’s enough to overcome the clunky counter service. The menu is a few pizzas and appetizers. We had the olive and garlic bread which was exceptional. There is also a food truck parked behind the distillery for burgers and fries. After sampling and having two rounds of good craft cocktails, we also bought a bottle to go. Their barrel aging concept is unique and smooths out their young whiskeys. Also took home a jar of their cherries because they are deliciously vanilla infused.

Staff very accommodating, courteous, helpful and showed compassion as the Honey product is helpful to spouse with asthma. A personal note from the staff member we talked with asking about spouse's condition. A heartfelt "thank you"!!
