This campground is great! Great location, great little river and great owners. Very accommodating with anything that we needed and very nice! Bathrooms and showers were clean and the site was spacious. Betsie sure didn’t disappoint and we had a quite the adventure kayaking down her. Can’t wait till next time!!!

We had a great experience staying in the RV spots for a few days. Lots of playgrounds for kids, disc golf, kayak and canoe rentals, and right on the betsie river! It's very close to crystal mountain resort as well. The spots are well kept and spacious. We met the owners and they were very friendly, great people. I highly recommend it!Playground: Two playgrounds with swings, mo key bars, even toys for small children

I cannot recommend BRCC enough! The campground has so many fun things to do (disc golf, cornhole, horseshoes, you name it!) and the owners were friendly and responsive. The kayak trip down the Betsie River was outstanding and perfect for the nature lovers in our group as well as those wanting to fish or enjoy a moderately challenging float! Our group of 10 had an AWESOME weekend at BRCC and plan to make this our annual end-of-summer hurrah.Restrooms: The porta-john was extremely clean.

Great campsites, the rustic sites back up to woods and have a field in front where you can play their disc golf course. A walk away from the toilet and shower which were very clean. Also they offer an awesome deal for kayaking the betsie River which is so beautiful and is quite adventurous and fast paced. Sleeping bear is an easy day trip as we went to Beulah, Empire Bluffs, the dunes/scenic drive, up to glen Arbor, then easily back to BRCC in time for sunset and fire starting. Amy was fast to reply and the camp host made sure we were settled in with fire wood on the first night when we arrived late (~11pm). Thank you Amy and Ryan!

Staying here for a wedding at Crystal Mountain (site 5). The incredibly kind host/owner Amy wanted to know when we’d be there so she could welcome us! Cute little campground. Clean bathrooms and spacious sites. This was our maiden voyage in or new camper and the 30 amp service didn’t disappoint. Will come again when we can spend more time enjoying the scenery and amenities!

Nice, quiet spot. Clean bathrooms and showers. I was camping off my motorcycle and only needed a place to sleep and relax at the end of a full days riding. This did the job perfectly!The owner was really nice and chatted with us for a while. Nothing to complain about!

5 star experience all around. This was my second time in the last three years there. Ryan and Amy go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and welcome. Extremely well kept from the grounds to the bathrooms and showers. Great access to the river with shuttle service available. Can’t wait to get back there.

Great kayaking trip again. Tons of Eagles today (at least 6) and the salmon run is fun to witness by kayak as well. Fall colors are popping as well. 🍃🍂🍁🛶🦅🐢

Found this campground years ago on a spur of the moment camping trip.. We have now been back several times and I tell everyone how great it is and recommend them to anyone looking for a great campground. I Love that the river runs through and kids can play, it’s close to the mountain so we did the down hill coaster, it’s close to Lake Michigan and crystal lake so we were able to hit the beach. Great location and great place to camp.

11/10 one of my favorite places to camp now ! Family owned campground, very attentive, and sweet. You can tell they take pride in this campground. The bathroom facilities and showers are spotless. My favorite part about this place besides the owners would be all the lights they put at the river it really is beautiful

First time camping with this campground. Amazing time, the campground was clean and beautiful. Ran by a family and they were beyond helpful and willing to go out of their way to accommodate us! We will definitely be back!

Me and my 11 year old son camp here to camp and fish for the trout opener. We we're promptly greeted with a warm by the owners and their adorable son. Lovely people. We proceeded to our campsite and realized I could not back up the camper (don't laugh 😂 first timer) I went up to the main building and ask for some assistance. The owner was quick to his feet and came running to help us. I didn't feel like an inconvenience. Very friendly and talkative (but not overly) Their toddler was helping direct him backing up. It was the cutest thing ever.I have stayed at the campground years ago before these owners purchased the property. They have made a TON of improvements and have big plans for more to come. We were impressed. Clean bathrooms and showers. The river frontage is beautiful 🤩 an excellent place for trout fishing.We will be back in the summer

The owners are fantastic hosts and continue to improve their campground every year! This was our second year staying at the group site. It was spacious enough for a few campers, a handful of tents, and space for the kids to run around. The disc golf course is a great way to spend the afternoon, and the playground kept the kids busy! We utilized the shuttle service to kayak the river, too. Also, the bathrooms and showers were clean and promptly attended to as needed.Betsie River Canoes & Campground does not disappoint!

What an amazing campground. My family and I camped for three days and it is a well kept peaceful place to stay! Everything met or highly exceeded our expectations. The owner's were super friendly and welcoming. The bathrooms were clean and well kept. Words cannot express the beauty here! We will most definitely be back and will recommend to all our family and friends!

UPDATE: Please note that this review from a long time ago and is no longer valid. The campground was closed for a while and is now under new ownership. I have no idea what it is like now. I understand that the new owners have upgraded the power and 30 amp is now available.The location was great. If you stay there, please rate and review it under the new ownership.Stayed here for five nights. We used Betsie River Canoes & Campground for our base camp during our 53 mile Green Lake to Lake Michigan kayak trip on the Betsie River. The electric sites are only 20 amp but this was not a problem as the weather was great and never needed to use the AC. Mark and staff were great and did a fantastic job of taking care of us. What was really nice is that this isn't a "parking lot" camp ground. Lots of room to spread out. It was quiet, clean restrooms/showers and right on the Betsie River. The only reason I don't rate this as a five star is the lack of 30/50 amp service. But, sounds like the owner has plans for expanding and offering higher amp service in the future.

Great place for camping with family and/or friends! Everything was very clean and the kayaks we rented were much nicer than others I've seen. We had a beautiful day on the river, and the service was top notch! Can't wait to go back

This is the best campground you will ever stay at. Amy and Ryan have built something awesome from the ground up! They are the most incredibly kind people you will ever meet. They care about this place, always adding little things here and there to make it the best stay possible. Truly the most relaxing vacation of the year.Also, do yourself a favor and rent some kayaks from them to take down the Betsie! They will shuttle you there and you land right back at the campground. It is hands down the most beautiful and fun stretch of river in the area.Betsie River Canoe and Campground is my family’s annual tradition. ❤️

New owners are awesome and welcoming. Been going here for years and love the place. The new couple that have it have cleaned it up and have great plans. Had a great few visits and will continue to be our #1 camping destination in northern Michigan.

Perfect up North camping spot. Perfect location to all outdoor attractions. Nice and quiet this time of year, I'm sure it's more busier in the summer with canoe trips. Not your franchise campground, which is what we like. They have corn hole boards, playground, volleyball, frisbee golf, trails.

Can't say enough good things about the good people at Betsie River Canoe and Campground! They keep the facilities clean, they are taking the correct COVID precautions, and the property is gorgeous. Ryan was a great host and we will be back next year! The Betsie River is a great trip. I'd rank it towards the lower end of intermediate paddler.

This is the best campground we have been to! The people are so nice! We have 3 kids that had the a great vacation bc of this place! Canoe trip was great! The fishing was awseome! They have plenty of games to keep the kids having fun. I could go on all day. We look forward to going back next year!

Spot wasn't too bad,but it was empty when we went there. Right on Labor day, and there was no one. I suppose people were there, but left early from labor day partying. Had rain all night, and the wash out from the rain was bad. Also, the electric campsite is right by the Lindy road, so you'll hear cars all night long from your tent or RV. Shower and bathroom facilities are somewhat not adequate. 4 showers and 2 restrooms won't be nearly enough when the campsite is even half full.Ryan the owner, was there when we went in, but they won't be there most of the time of the day.But then again, if you're there to have fun with family, you'll enjoy your time.

It was nice to have the place to ourselves, don't expect that to last, but the bathrooms and showers were very clean. No shortage of mosquitoes,being right next to river. The hill was a little difficult,large campers might not make it out.but I do look forward to seeing what improvements are done for next year.

I love this campground!!! The laid back, freindly atmosphere is exactly what we are looking for when we spend a few days away from home. They are extremely pet friendly. Everytime we can sneak away for a few days, this campground is always our destination. I always look forward to catching up with the campground staff and they have always been super friendly!

I went to this campground with my family (consisting of me, my husband and three little ones under 6). We went during one of the events where they had music at night and some activities in the day and stayed in one of the trailers they offer (I didn't feel like messing with a tent that weekend lol). It was a lot of fun. The kids enjoyed themselves, playing games and activities they had at the camp store and we enjoyed the music at night after they had gone to sleep. Everyone was friendly and it was a comfortable environment. I would definetly recommend this to any family looking for a calm, laid back place to go and have a good, quality camping trip.
