I'd love to share my positive experience with Iosco Humane Society. Two weeks ago Scooter landed in my home after a very traumatic period. I couldn't figure out how to post a picture on their website so they helped me out by doing it for me. Within a day a wonderful couple, Dawn And Lucas met up with Scooter and decided to save him.After such a hard time , he has been saved by a loving couple who will give him the best life everIf it wasn’t for Iosco County Humane Society, they wouldn't have never have metMy heart goes out to you all for your love of pets who who sometimes need a lift up for the best life. Bless you💕

Myself and a friend of mine volunteered a couple years ago and the woman there was rude and sparky. She even closed down the shelter an hr early and not all the dogs had been walked. When I mentioned this to her all I got was "They'll be fine I do this all the time so mind your business." I was so shocked I couldn't find words. I left a complaint but the other woman wasn't interested at all. Doing that to the animals will cause a UTI or something worse. What disgusting monsters. They need to get the other lady back because she actually gave a damn. But nope because she cared too much about the animals.Hell she and her husband came out to the shelter for 2 dogs me and my friend found running lose and one had quilt in her. Please bring that lady and her husband back.

We are fostering 3 kittens and mom who wandered to our door. The shelter spad and gave necessary shots at a discounted price. As well as giving us creates to transport the cats to and from their office. The place is clean and organized.

We went there to pick up the ashes of my brother's beloved dog and companion, Bonnie. The people were wonderful there and we were surprised by the beautiful presentation of her ashes. They were in a beautiful box, inside of a pretty blue drawstring satchel. Just a great experience.It was even better when we were able to meet with the dogs! My brother saw one and we decided to foster her for a trial period. She's a wonderful girl and will be adopted by him next week. So happy with the staff, and the treatment of the animals.

Everyone here go's out of there to care for all of there animals.We adopted a beautiful German Shepherd from here and he has turned into the dog we always wanted.We thank this location for our new family member.We highly appreciate and recommend this location for finding your next family member.Mike and Michelle

On July 16th, 2003, I adopted the cutest little black kitten. Her name was Tinker. I remember that day when she reached out to me, that she was the one to take home. After 17½ faithful years as my companion, she left this world due to sickness. If it were not for this shelter she probably would not have lived a good life. I know that without her I wouldn't have overcome many struggles, but I wanted to extend my many thanks for the work you do here.

The people here are amazing. I stopped today bearing chicken bites from Walmarts and they were closed. They let me in anyways to pass them out to the doggies. I mean who does that? Just amazing. Common human courtesy and looking out for there fur babies.

The entire staff are "Angels" to all of the animals they care for. They offer neuter/spay services for a very low price and are very caring of your pet while in their hands. A big thank you along with hugs for such loving care you gave to my kitten "Luigi"...

Great place to work with. We just adopted a dog from them. We got to bring her home for a couple of weeks to make sure she would fit into our family. Most places only give you a couple of days.

We had a baby kitten that was so Itty bitty...and the momma kitty didn't want anything to do with it unless it was meowing...so it was hungry and cold...Iosco County Animal Shelter took this baby in and are bottle feeding it currently...Thank you for being such an amazing place and amazing people...

I reached out to them a few days ago as they took in a dog, which happens to be my dogs sister. In the messages, they stated the dog will be up for adoption this upcoming Wednesday (11/25) and they will get back to me once the manager gets back into town. Clearly, they never got back to me.Logged onto Facebook today to see she has been adopted out. I commented showing my disappointment and called them out for what they did and they had deleted it, twice.Knowing me, had to message them to understand why and how.According to whoever is running the page “aren’t you the girl who has four dogs already?” Is a fair enough reason to completely disregard someone who willingly wants the dog, and immediately.To clear the air, I have 2, my parents have 1 and my boyfriend has 1, if that even matters. But because of that, I had no chance to have my dogs sibling?Seems a bit unprofessional and unfair if you were to ask me.

Note: my experience happened BEFORE they won an award for **most-improved** Humane Society.Very nice people. I was disappointed to find my newly adopted kitten had severe ear mites. I thought I was adopting a vet-checked animal.

Although I believe everyone should go adopt I highly recommend you actively avoid the 2 managers linda and michelle! Very very nasty women not only did they slander me and my mother on the shelter page they drove to my home and took pictures and have been stalking us not because we are bad pet owners but simply cuz they dont like us. To add onto the attack the did verbally to my mother and I many in the community have seen how they acted publicly as the faces of our great shelter and are concerned deeply as people who are in charge of little furry lives and are suppose to be professional showed themselves to be true monsters. I have brought this to other managers attention mary but she has shown no interest in handling the situation and I'm not the only one to have issues with these women so please be careful when dealing with these horrible women that run the shelter.

I called about a great dane lab mix I do have lab experience Lynda lady on phone after I said I'd like to set up something to meet maverick goes we have a lady coming, do you have dane experience I replied no and left it at that she was very snarky on phone upset about how she acted over the phone I called yesterday and left a msg also due to them not being open but I just can't get over the rudeness .... I'm pretty sure the humane society is about getting animals into a loving home .
