I’ve been researching chainsaws. Gill Roy’s Swartz creek was one local location that carried Stihl. I was also considering Husqvarna. I went on a Sunday to Gill Roy’s in Swartz creek. I immediately asked for the person who was most knowledgeable in Stihl chain saws. I was introduced to Craig. Great guy. I was not expecting the level of service we received. Craig spent about an hour with us going over options and once I decided on what model I wanted, he give me the complete run down on the chain saw and all it’s features. You just don’t get this attention and level of service this day and age. Knowing that this location also services this brand is also comforting. I highly recommend Gill Roy’s in Swartz creek for all Stihl products.

I always try to shop local 1st and have shopped at the Swartz Creek Gill-Roy's since I moved here 10 years ago. I won't again. I went in the other day to see if they cut glass for picture frames as I went to update some family pics to be ready for the holidays. They said yes. I said I need 4 8X10 and 4 5X7 pieces of glass. My husband went to pick them up for me & the young man who took my order helped him. He gave him 4 4X10 and 4 5X7 pieces. My husband immediately knew that wasn't right and called me. I said no, I wanted 8X10. Why on earth would anyone need 4X10 glass for pictures. Do you know anyone who has EVER had a 4X10 picture? The young man argued with him and said "this is what I wrote and that's what she said." My husband said well she needs 4 8X10 which he cut for me BUT guess what? He insisted that we had to pay for the 4X7 pieces as well! It was almost $60 for the 12 pieces of glass. Absolutely ridiculous - I was angry with my husband for not asking to speak to the manager but he didn't. This young man has not been trained properly. I would warn anyone going there to ask to see what was written for the order and make sure they wrote what you told them. I'll never shop there again!

I love the convenience of a local hardware shop with knowledgeable staff and quality products. I might pay a couple bucks more than larger chains but it is well worth it for the convenience, customer service, and great selection of specialty items not found elsewhere especially in exact quantities. I highly recommend.

Big superstores are great if you have time to shop around for stuff. You usually find stuff you didn't need, too. When you're actually in a hurry, and need something now, chances are... Gil-Roy's got it. Not 50 different options, but what you need to get on with it.

So I drive a tiny car and I pull up to the Gilroy’s and there is an older employee outside. I get out my car and he asked me what he could help me with and I told him I needed to 60 inch kitty pools for my ducks. He knew right away that the pools aren’t going to fit in my car or if we tried that they were going to fly out. He was nice enough an offer to drive them to my house I live five minutes away from the store and even though he did not have to offer he did it anyways. I tried to give him some gas money and he told me no thank you that he only lived a couple miles away as well.For me it comes down to he went out of his way to help a customer (outside of business hours) when he didn’t have to! By far one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had this guy deserves a raise!Oh his name was Mike!

Gil-roys is always well stocked. The employees are knowledgeable and extremely helpful every time I go in. The Swartz Creek location has a Stihl showroom and all of their locations have a ton of Yeti products.

Clean well organized and knowledgeable staff. Some might be a little to helpful. The prices of items are pretty comparable to the big home centers. Save a trip to the big box stores and try them out first.

Very nice and helpful employees that always help me find things for my projects and repairs around the house. They have about anything you would ever need. I buy bolts, screws, nails, special tools, plumbing, electrical supplies and deck stain just to name a few.

Only out of convenience I stopped to get a propane tank for the grill. Well they charge $20 more than other places....I won't make that mistake again.

Gilroy's slogan...Gilroy's Got It! Is very substantiated. Whenever I am looking for that hard to find but, pin, or faucet washer that can't be found elsewhere, well "Gilroy's Got It." Just a well stocked and superb hardware store. Extremely friendly and helpful employees too.
