It wasn't the nicest day to stand outside waiting for ice cream, but it's a must when we make it to South Haven. The ice cream here is simply the best. The flavors are just right, no matter what is ordered. The portions are very generous and the people are very friendly. I had a double strawberry cheesecake in a waffle cone. It was perfect.

We saw this place on our way to Three Blondes Brewery and figured we would stop here for dessert afterwards. From the reviews it appears to be a must-stop while you’re in SoHa for premium ice cream.They take your name and order and you pick up at a different window. I had the 14% butterfat chocolate peanut butter waffle cone that was excellent. It had large chunks of what tasted like a peanut butter cup.Cash or card. Lines can be long at prime times but a shaded canopy is provided. Ample lot parking. Limited outdoor seating only. Service was a bit slow with the kids horsing around and laughing more than scooping ice cream but it was only about 10 minutes. Expensive but as I always say to keep things in perspective “It’s still cheaper than Vegas.” I would return when I’m back in the area.

I've gone there 3 times this season.The first time they made my order perfectly..But unfortunately the last 2 times it's been wrong.. I just paid $17.00 for 2 brownies with just hot fudge and a cherry that I CAN NOT eat!!!! Bec they put ice cream on them!!I can't have ice cream or whip cream but I do LOVE the warm brownies..I will not be returning!!!

Anytime we're in the area (a few times per season), we have to go here. The service and the ice cream are top notch. The portions are incredible.There was even a time we got there near closing, and we witnessed the owner greeting people at their cars, politely letting them know they were closed, and giving them all free ice cream cups. THAT was impressive.

Visited family out in Michigan for the first time. Sherman’s ice cream is a MUST stop it was a hot day before the end of summer and it was so worth it. The line looks so long but didn’t even feel that way at all. I got a single scoop and I couldn’t believe the size of it. My son was in ice cream heaven. Best prices around, I wish there was one in my state.

We live local & coming to Sherman’s is always something we do as a family. When we went today we placed our order & got our ice cream timely but I ordered a small ice cream in a plain cone but they gave me a cup of ice cream and just stuck the cone on top of the ice cream in the cup. If I wanted ice cream in a cup I would have just ordered it that way. It was a bit lazy & not what I asked for. Then my Mom got a hot fudge sundae and they must have changed their whipped cream because it was terrible. We ended up throwing the entire ice cream away. It was not good. Plus the inside is closed and you have to stand outside every time you go. This was once a place where you could sit and reminisce and look at all of the old photographs on the wall now has turned into a walk up window. It has lost its feel, its character… Terribly disappointed. Probably won’t go back…

The iconic Sherman Dairy! The place where excellence meets satisfaction, and Saturday was no exception.My husband and I were on our way home to Holland when he suggested Sherman’s ice cream. Well no argument from me. I have been going there since I was 5, at least that’s my first real memory , and still excited to go at 63.The person that greets you will make or break an experience and ours was so awesome it goes straight to the memory banks to be remembered with a smile always and we talked about it still today, ok so it is only the next day, but next year, next decade, we will never forget Victoria! Her smile and welcoming demeanor was top notch. Victoria naturally made you happy to be there. She made us laugh and I actually had a perma-grin all the way home. she did all this without compromising the efficiency of her duties. She even sold me a hat that will be my daily go to. Seriously it is a quality hat 😁.Thank you Sherman Dairy for 66 years of great ice cream and for people like Victoria who make that ice cream an unforgettable experience.Andrea and Tim

Nice dairy bar, outdoor service only. Large portions but large price too. Good ice cream. 4 stars for prices...baby size $4.25. I do realize that times have become hard for small businesses. In their defense, my baby size was more like a single size at other ice cream bars. Please give this place your businessThe ice cream is delicious.

This is a regular scoop in a waffle cone. Huge portions, but so good! They line may seem long but it moves quickly. Lots of tables to sit at and enjoy your ice cream.

These folks are unbelievable. We were here with friends during the busiest time of the day on a Sunday and they still handled everyone gracefully and efficiently. Every single one of the ice cream flavors was just amazing. Loved toasted coconut (when though I don’t even like coconut ice cream that much), butternut pecan(salty creamy), chocolate (super soft, creamy, and not overly sweet), and the mix of blackberry+French silk. We stayed in line twice to get “Pig’s dinner” twice! I noticed they’ve turned around nearly 100 customers in less than half an hour and you could barely notice it. Staff were so friendly and helpful and restrooms were super clean. The whole place has a lovely vibe to it.

Longer line but not a long wait. Tastes just like I remember as a kid. We ordered baby sizes and were impressed with the amount of ice cream we were served.

Do not recommend: tried a flight of different ice creams and honestly just was not satisfied with any of them. They give a good amount for the price but the ice creams just lacked flavor for me, tasted like less quality cheaper ice cream. Unfortunately there were not that many ice cream shops in the area, but still I will not be stopping here again.

The only thing that would have made it better for me would be more dairy free options (yay lactose intolerance). I got the Raspberry Sorbet and it was delicious. The rest of the family all had ice cream and said it was very good. Their portions are HUGE so come hungry! I loved the outdoor seating spread out through the area.

Such a wonderful dairy! I drove my 95 year old mom over for her favorite ice cream (Marion Blackberry). I walk with a cane so called ahead and asked if I could pay and then have someone bring the huge waffle cone out to the car along with another quart of the same. Everyone was super and it made our day!!! Thank you for delicious ice cream and superior service!!

The line was long but moved fast, the ice cream was delicious. We split a small sundae and there was nothing small about it! There is no restroom etc at this location that is open to public and is pretty much just an ice cream stand you line up and order at the window and then they prepare you delicious treats. There is a nice size parking lot and picnic tables to sit at while you enjoy your treat.

The. Best. Ice. Cream. EVER!!!! There are a few local places that serve ice cream from the dairy but nothing beats the original! I've been a fan for 30+ years. It hasn't changed! Thank you so much for keeping childhood memories a reality.

We’ve had peanut butter cup (single) and cappuccino (baby size) ice creams. Cappuccino lacked in flavor and creaminess and a 1/3rd of peanut butter cup was frozen bitter peanut butter chunk. Very disappointing. We ended up throwing both in the trash.You also need to stay in a needless queue after you have ordered to get your ice cream.I’d recommend working on flavors and consistency of ice creams and invest in a good menu instead of having flavors spelled out in white on the glass (illegible).

Best ice cream ever!! Very large helpings (even the baby size) and often very busy. Grateful that they have customers take a number. Staff is efficient and friendly. Large selection of ice cream flavors and they're all delicious. A "must stop" when in the area.

This is a tradition when in the South Haven area. It’s the origin of the blue moon ice cream. I was a little disappointed to find that there was no longer indoor seating however the ice cream is still delicious and there are many picnic tables to choose from. The Almond Joy sundae is amazing!

First stop on our honeymoon circle tour of Lake Michigan. This place is insane. Let me warn you, if you order a single waffle cone, be prepared for like 5 scoops of ice cream. A SINGLE is 5 scoops. If you want a more manageable portion or you hate ice cream (why are you even here?) order a baby size.

All I can say is, WOW. The most delicious ice cream I have ever had. If you are in south haven town and wanting to wait 2 hours in line at kilwins, walk up here! SO SO SOOOO YUMMY!! I recommend the Sorbet!

Lots of options to choose from! The waffle bowl was delicious and my husband loved the banana split. The servings are huge and totally worth the price!Took us a little over 30 minutes to get through the line which was our only negative.
