These guys are fantastic! They are so accommodating, and go above and beyond to make things happen for your schedule. My dog Tilly gets excited to go; everyone (including the cats) is so friendly with her. They’re very thorough; when I pick her up she’s shiny clean, soft, nails trimmed well…she looks and feels great. Thank you!!!

Mel & Company have done wonders for my little dog Mayvis! (Rescued, unsocialized and frightened Yorkie Mix) Not only does Mayvis always look beautiful once they have groomed her; she views them as part of her pack. They are also the only place I know ,in this area, who live in the same building that also house the kennels so they always know what is going with your pup. They are a family owned business and see your pets as part of their family! A special thanks! Mayvis & Gracie

Took care of my friend's dog and messed up his tail so badly that they now have to amputate half of it. Why wasn't he given proper treatment IMMEDIATELY??? Also, how does that happen to the point where the dog has to amputate????

Abosultely disgusted with this place. The neglection towards other animals is absurd. They messed up my friends dog's tail to the point it had to be amputated. I JUST heard another neglection story and had to share my thoughts about this place.

We are relatively new to the area and used this place three times. The last time our dog was returned after we paid and he had a gouge in his fur. When I called back to find out what happened I was told by the owner, Melanie, that “well, I didn’t just wake up this morning, look at my calendar and decide to screw up your dog’s grooming. It was an accident! It happens!” No offer of an apology until I asked for one. Charged me full fee of $95 and suggested that, if I wasn’t happy with that she would cancel our next appointment and I could never return to her shop. Wow! So, we found another experienced groomer, Stay & Obey ($75), and I called and cancelled. Beware. She has and attitude and doesn’t like to be held accountable.

Always very great with my tea cup. She’s only three pounds and loves going there and gets excited every time I take her! Staff is very friendly and they treat her with tender loving care ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Peaches looks amazing. Pay no attention to the shaved leg on the right as she had just had dental and they had to shave that little section. Rovers Retreat did an amazing job

Everyone here is always nice and pleasant. They do a great job with my two pugs, they always come home so soft and I love the cute seasonal bandanas they put on them when leaving, cute extra appreciated touch that I like!

Boarded my lab with Rovers Retreat over the weekend for 2 nights. They were able to accommodate me on short notice and even noticed his nails needed cut and trimmed them for me during his stay. Great prices and friendly staff.If ever in the area again, they will be my go to!

Our boys Kaiser and Henley, go to Rovers Retreat for daycare a couple of times per week. We want them to have the socialization and they love going there. The staff is absolutely wonderful to our fur babies. They're large puppies so we know they can be quite a handful at times but RR does very well with both of them and it's greatly appreciated. ♥

Our 7 month old puppy, Ruby, just stayed here five nights. It was our first time kenneling this dog. She seems to be terribly anxious whenever we leave her alone for short periods of time to go out to dinner or attend church, so we were really nervous how she would do not seeing us for several days. It seems she did just great. The owners of this business are very nice people who obviously love the dogs. When we picked up Ruby it was obvious both the husband and wife had spent time doting on our baby as they each commented about her behavior and personality. Ruby also got to socialize with other dogs which was great for her. Ruby did not seem the least bit traumatized by the experience. Although she was happy to see me and my wife, she wasn’t acting like we had abandoned her. In summary, we were very pleased with Rovers Retreat and would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to friends.

I’m so happy with my dog’s grooming! She is a doodle who has a history of getting very anxious at appointments with past groomers but the folks at Rover’s kept her calm and comfortable. And she looks SO cute! Definitely her best groom ever!! Highly recommend.

This place is amazing. We had a last minute emergency and needed to immediately board our dog on a holiday weekend and Rover's Retreat was able to accommodate us without question. AND they even groomed our dog. And it was the best grooming he's ever received. I wish I wasn't from out of town or I would use you all of the time! Just took our little doggie over there based on the glowing recommendations of friends. She came back so pretty! It was smooth to schedule. Smooth drop off and pick up. She looks so good! They did a fabulous job. We will always go here from now on.

Laid back with high standards and top quality services. Our dogs, Bella and Broccoli, go to Rover's Retreat for grooming services and Bella has boarded with them. The entire staff is great with dogs. Both of ours are a bit neurotic yet find their zen while they are with Melanie and Jim. We have been taking our dogs here for years and highly recommend!

My rescue dog who was very fearful and shy went to Rovers Retreat and came out a totally different dog. They did so good with him that he was happy, ,wagging his tail. He also smelled like a brand new dog and look like a brand new dog And I think he felt like a new man! They are very gentle and understanding with your pet and I don’t think I would ever go anywhere else. A wonderful place for your dog or cat!

Our dog Ty spent two days here on 8/2 - 8/4. He is a 14 year old, 12lb dog that had never been boarded before, so we were a little nervous about the whole situation.He did quite well. We added a bath/brush to his stay. To our pleasant surprise, they also trimmed up his paws, under belly and head a bit, while leaving his long hair in place as he looks weird with a real hair cut.No issues at all, rates were good and Ty looked better than when we arrived.

The boarding service is excellent, and very inexpensive. The building has a large enclosed back yard, and the staff lets the dogs out to play and exercise in this space.We were staying in the area, but couldn't bring our dog onto our rental property, so we boarded him here for the week. We were allowed to pick our dog up to spend time with him during the day, and then drop him back off before closing time. Even on days when the groomer itself was closed, we were allowed to pick him up at 9 and drop him off at 5 (since staff members come by a couple times a day to care for the animals).The staff themselves are very friendly. By the end of the week, our dog (who is normally nervous around strangers) would be excited and happy to see the staff when we dropped him off there.Next time we visit South Haven, we will definitely board our dog here again.
