It's bad enough that self checkout has been closed for weeks without any posted reasoning leaving customers to assume it's just because of their own incompetence. Self checkouts take up 1/8 the entire size of the store and that space is now just being wasted. But it doesn't even take an 8th grade education to know that if you close down 4 self checkouts, you need more than one cashier. The new store is more organized but employee management and overall business decisions like closing brand new self checkouts for what seems like indefinitely, has somehow declined from the dumpster fire it was in the last store.

Great place! DONNA is a great person. Very friendly and kind. All the employees are great. They are short help, so bare with them if stock doesn't get right out. And if store is messy. They are trying their best to serve us

Cheryl is the absolute best! I am a cashier myself n she provides the quality of customer service that I would expect from a fellow cashier! She is breathe of fresh air in a society of people who only want to get paid. She is always smiling, always has time for a little casual conversation n treats everyone like she’s known them forever! I won’t shop Dollar General if Cheryl, Alex or Donna aren’t working! Love them 3 to pieces!

This is not only the worst Dollar General ive been to but its tops the list for one of the worst stores. They are dirty and cluttered, low staffed is an understatement and there registers are always broken. Theyll have lines wrapped around the store and either cant or wont do anything about it. Rude is also an understatement

I have always had great service here at Dollar General Scottville store. The store is always clean and shelves are well-stocked. The cashier Cheryl is always smiling and most helpful. Cheryl is very friendly and knows where everything in the store is and always takes her time to help me . Cheryl also knows as I come in often to remind me of things I usually purchase if I forget them. Cheryl deserves five stars!

They are always very unfriendly and its unclean and cluttered. The scottville location always only has one register working with a line that wraps around the frozen area and today two employees were smoking at the entrance. There's no accountability. It just need to be revamped and new management. I live across the street and can promise most of the positive reviews are lies because it's the only grocery store in town.

Had a majority of the basic Staples of rural life, both name and off brand for competitive prices. The staff are always friendly and casual bringing an atmosphere big marts dream of. I would recommend this particular store even just to browse if you're passing through scottville

Best DG in west Michigan, what makes it so good you ask?Clean well stocked shelves and knowledgeable staff .Always treated with kindness and respect my favorite is Cheryl she knows where everything is and is always happy to help me with locating items that I cannot locate .It's without question quality employees like Cheryl that make this location successful , and my first choice to shop for basic necessities . 5 Gold Stars for Cheryl !!!!!!!

Only 1 clerk at checkout & the line was at l east 10 shoppers long! He was a good guy who was swamped. I had a card & waited at least 15 minutes to pay. Get more help please.

Girl that works there was smoking outside in front of the store. Store was a mess! Very busy and only 2 people working. For the holiday week of the 4th of July, one would have thought they would have planned better.

Love this little store. Great service. Im in here weekly and buy all my supplies here cheeper lines are never long and if i need help someone is always willing to help. And the cookies and coffee are reasonably priced

Everytime I go to dollar general it's the same cashier behinde the register and she is very rude. Also I spend most of my time waiting in a huge line because they never use both registers when there are other workers present.

Owe Scotville D.G. an apology my original review was for another dollar general and didnt realize it was there! Our visit to Scotville D.G. last Time was very pleasant and had lots of room. They had a great store set up. Lots of product to choose from and very organized compared to some!

I live really close so i am in and out of here tons lol. For the most part i like 90% of the workers. Amanda and Tabatha are by far the best, most friendly, and quick to hop on the job to help anyone.

Rude employee. Every time I asked where something was, she rolled her eyes at me. Asked her to repeat something, as she stuttered a lot and I couldn't understand her. Repeated it, then walked away quickly. I just left, went somewhere else.

We had traveled all day, just to be met with 2 of the rudest dollar general employees ever! We came near closing, bit only need 2 items. They weren't happy and made it VERY known to us. The store is always in disarray.

Nice store, friendly employees, but sometimes understaffed. Not the employees fault, I like dollar generals, but who wants to be 5 deep at the check out.
