The Schoolcraft Dollar General is often closed due to staffing . Also, it closes too early, at 8:00. Other Dollar Generals close at 10:00. I went to spend money and buy stuff today, and it looked closed, again. I pulled up to see if it was open and some worker lady stepped out and told me that I need to pull into a parking space . I asked if they were open and she said “ obviously “. Okay , no other cars in the parking lot and it looked dark and closed at the store. Once I knew it was open (at 7:39) I chose a parking spot and parked. I went in and the lady and a new guy worker told me to park correctly, again. But, I did park correctly, I did that! I chose my items and some guy came in and wanted to buy ice, I heard him . They told him they close in 5 minutes and they told him he he parked incorrectly, too. What a crazy and weird parking “police” staff. How mean are they? I brought my items up and the new guy told me it would be great if I learned how to park in the right spot. I told him I did, but there were no cars and it looked closed , so I pulled to the side to see if they were open. I asked him to stop. My Jeep is in a spot over there! The female told me that they have closed at 8:00 for a year and a half. Okay, but I you looked like you were closed. It was an empty parking lot! She told me that she could ask me to leave and then asked me if I wanted to “ take it outside”! I said I told you I thought you were closed before I parked my Jeep. Then I said “how much do I owe you”? She told me , and I payed and left. What is going on at the Schoolcraft Dollar General? There is a new one just built on US 131. I will go there from now on . I have never been treated so badly at a store for pulling off to the side and looking into the store to see if they were open. Those two employees need to learn how to be a store worker and not tell people off for how they think they should park on an angle!! What a mean and weird couple of store employees! Never go there!

This used to be such a nice store. Today, Christmas Eve- I can't say that anymore. I went there last night, spent about an hour in there. The store was a mess. The lady working never once asked if she could help me. Then, after I have an entire cart full, well over $100 of stuff a light flips off. I never heard an announcement that they close at -- time or in -- minutes and the lady working there, who definitely knew I was in there never mentioned they closed soon. Once the one light flipped off, I looked at my phone and it was 8:03... yes, THREE, not thirty minutes after 8:00 so I assumed, ok, they must close at 8:00 so I head up front. I start putting things on the counter and wait a few minutes bc there was no one to be found up front. Then the lady comes out and with a smirk says she can't check me out bc they close at 8:00! Say What??!!! I told her I didn't realize the time or that they close at 8:00; didn't hear an announcement they close soon and that she didn't mention it the 2-3 times she walked past me, etc. She was UNBELIEVABLE and REFUSED to let me check out. I was nice and asked her if there is ANY way she could bc this was all my last minute Christmas stuff, etc. NOPE! She was enjoying this!!!!! The other girl was behind the counter, laughing about it bc I swear this lady did this intentionally! She knew I was in the store. I asked again. She said nope, the hours are on the door, she already pulled the drawer (which I wasn't paying w cash) and ran her daily report so she wasn't checking me out and was almost laughing about it. I have NEVER in my life been in a store near closing time that 1, doesn't announce they close in -- minutes; 2, has their drawer pulled and report ran THREE minutes after their closing time, or 3, HAPPILY REFUSES to allow a customer to check out, ESPECIALLY the night before Christmas Eve!!! Absolutely unbelievable!! I work in retail, in customer service and have/would NEVER do that to someone and the worst part... I honestly believe it was intentional and she was enjoying not allowing me to check out!! I rarely make an issue or post negative reviews, but seriously... this was ridiculous. I will definitely be going to their GM and/or above to complain.

Some of the merchandise is not well made but if you look you can find low priced stock from other stores that did not sell and other well made hidden gems. It is a great place for low priced snacks and drinks. But at times the price is the same as large chain stores but you don't have to deal with the huge stores so it is my go to place for snacks drinks tooth brushs deodorant body wash and other quick shopping needs.

Amid Covid 19 store shopping, they do say on the door, mask required and I did wear one. It was a fairly empty store, I was able to peacefully get the basics like milk, bread, coffee creamer and no worries about what direction I was going in an aisle. Much easier than Walmart and similar prices. Keep in mind one cashier was not wearing a mask (does not bother me) so they may allow guests without as well. I will for sure return.

The cashier here was super sweet and helpful, and the store just got remodeled and is super nice. I was impressed with the selection, they seem to have a lot more frozen food and a bigger grocery selection now.

Love this store! Clean, organized and well stocked! They even have a section well stocked with cake decorating supplies! Party decorations! Very nice

Clean store. Easy to find things. Friendly & helpful staff. Refrigerators filled with various foods, beer, wine and some other things. One of the better ones.

Not bad there line kids suck but nothing to cry about just when you walk in Boom there it is kinda weird you just have to see it to understand it

The Schoolcraft location is always friendly and the store is clean. Only downside is occasional blocked isles while merchandise gets stocked.
