We came in today to buy a chinchilla. Cathy and Dylan were extremely helpful. We had already researched chinchillas and knew we were ready to add one to our family. The two of them answered all of our questions and we had a lot of them. The animals in this store are very well taken care of. They were very careful when introducing us to the chinchillas. Now we have our little fluffy friend home with us and we cannot thank this wonderful store with an amazing staff enough.

This Store was a great surprise for me. There are so many products in this small, sweet store. Toys, supplements, small critters and lots more. The staff is very helpful and super friendly. Even the sweetest resident kitty roaming around! We'll be back for sure!

I can't express how happy I am to come every single time to this wonderful store! The employees are always so polite and helpful every time I walk in. The last visit I had today. I was looking to switch dog foods, and the wonderful woman who helped me today was extremely helpful and made sure I knew exactly what to look for when switching.I love coming in and seeing the happy smiling faces every time I walk through their door, especially when I see the shelf's moving and finds Dexter's face sticking out to say hello! These guys always deserve the best praise when it comes to knowledge of animals and how to take care of them. They are above and beyond in my book! Thank you, Pets n Things!

I wanted to give a shout out here about Pets 'n' Things, the pet store located near the Busch's. This is our favorite small business in Saline and an amazing place to shop. We go there regularly just for dog and cat food, but my four year old always has to walk up and down the aisles to see all the pets. They have all sorts of cool pets: bunnies, rats, chinchillas, birds, snakes, geckos, skinks, etc. I can't even think of the words to describe how much it warms my heart to go here, several of the employees know my son by name and stop to say hello to him and tell him about the animals. Everyone there is just so knowledgeable and so so so kind. The real star of the show there is Dexter the shop cat who wanders around or can be found napping in the window. If you haven't checked them out, or regularly shop online or in a big box store for pet supplies - I really recommend visiting Pets 'n' Things.

Good place, I reccomend taking the bunnies out and free roam in a special room, because they are not supposed to be in cages like that. Also they are actually to drink from a dog or cat bowl. The hamster drinkers can make them dehydrated.

The staff is very knowledgeable. The store is extremely clean and welcoming. And the orange and white long hair cat sleeping on the counter is pleasant. We went to look at snakes and ask questions. The young woman helping us answered every single question and even addressed concerns we didn't think of.

I had a great experience here, staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Kathy is the one who helped me out. Would recommend for sure.In my humble opinion: Great customer service is the pillar to any successful business.Side Note: Found out when I was in they also have a sister store called the Pet Emporium in Ann Arbor, so if one does not have the exact item you are looking for the other might (same owner I think and ones gift receipt would work in either location). I went into the Pet Emporium in Ann Arbor just to check it out and found it to be extremely clean and well organized with a great selection of modern pet items including pet wearables such as Michigan shirts and hoods as well as pet travel items).

Ahh!! This place is amazing!! I’m in the process of buying a corn snake and I called three other places, and they had the best prices and were super sweet and nice! They have been so helpful with purchasing my snake, and their prices are amazing! Only between 115-160 for the setup of your cage - the cage, heating pad, lamp, water dish. They have been so kind and incredibly helpful, and i will be buying my supplies and maybe even more snakes from them in the future!!

Truly would never normally do this. But given the circumstances I feel the need to do so. I've been a customer at the store since 2016, never had an issue! Until this past week when I bought 3 medium mice for my snakes. Within 24 hours of 2 of my 3 snakes eating, 2 were found dead. I called the store and the employee assured me the message would be passed along to the owner. I have heard nothing since. Very upsetting to loose 2 pets at the same time, that were healthy animals.

I had the best experience today here. I had been looking for a place to get two pet rats for a few days but all generic pet stores near me did not sell them or offered me “frozen rats” (which I obviously did not want lol) until I finally called here. The girl I spoke to was so kind and helpful and made sure my set up was good for the rats and made sure I was fit to care for them. I really appreciate this because most pet stores will just check that you are 18 and that’s all. The prices were great and I think these rats are gonna be the sweetest! Thank you for your passion for your job and being so helpful ❤️

Love this place! They have q large amount of small animals (reptiles, birds,, spiders mice,, degus, rabbits, etc.) Unique finds for cat food with natural ingredients to settle and irritable tummies. The cat they have in store is also super friendly and loves pets. They also have handmade dog treats that are so cute for any special celebration!

First time in this store. Employees were knowledgeable and nice. I was a bit surprised when I walked in and there was a cat at the door but it loved attention and made my day. They have a punch card system. Which was nice. Will go back whenever I am in the area again.

Has clearance items always, usually half off.Good variety of all pets, furry and feathered. My dog is old, has finicky appetite and the dried raw meat bag, Bravo, is keeping him healthy and eating well twice a day (big accomplishment!) Love the variety of supplies!

4 stars on their pets and products!!! The only issue I have with this pet shop they employ a lot of younger people which that’s not the problem the problem is they employ one little girl and I don’t know how else to say this but she’s a little short heavy set stocky girl Has a very smug attitude sometimes to the point to where she borders on the line and disrespectful it’s sad to say I know the owner quite well I haven’t ever had a chance to talk to him about this matter but I can say at least five out of the six times I’ve been there she’s had something smart to say or knew more than I did I’ve always let it go because I kind understand working in the public probably isn’t the easiest thing to do daily but I had a bad experience again today and I’m adding this to my review because if I was the owner I would probably do something about it I can only imagine what’s on her coworkers have to deal with she’s like a little pet shop dictator but I will Say all the other staff is always exceptional and awesome it’s just one little girl

Was visiting family and had run out of puppy kibble - called in politely asking whether they carry a specific brand, and was told "No, we don't carry that brand because it's 'not a good quality food'." I feed my dog based on the recommendation of my vet, and was not expecting unsolicited advice about the quality of food I provide. I might have stopped in for chews or toys in the future even if they don't carry our brand, but I think I'll go elsewhere.

I have gotten some invaluable advice from them in feeding my guys the best food for their needs.I drive from Ypsilanti, and pass lots of other pet stores, to get my pet food, and accessories

Super helpful staff here! I stopped in looking for some bearded dragon food. They didn't have what i was looking for, but recommended something else that the lizard really enjoyed. Nice shop and a good variety of items and animals.

Definitely want to acknowledge the variety of supplies and decent prices for some. While shopping for a food, we spotted a reptile that my husband and I were both pleased with and asked to see. The girl started off friendly. But as we asked questions and the reptile, we could tell her answers were complete b.s. Whether someone instilled this misinformation or she truly believed it, having several of this specific reptile, I knew she was way wrong. When we were contemplating purchasing, she stated we needed a photo proof of a setup (signs are posted everywhere so I already knew). I told her that wasn't an issue and what we had. To which she replied with "I'll have to ask the owner, those are controversial." Umm, no they're one of the most recommended husbandry for several reasons, but sure, please tell me how that the glass aquarium you're keeping reptiles in when you can't regulate temps & humidity properly in, is far superior and you can judge. I'll take my business elsewhere!

What a great little pet supply store! My wife and I were a little indecisive as to what pet to get our kids. The staff went well above and beyond to explain the pros and cons of each.We left and came back hours later and were surprisingly recognized with a nice, "You're back." comment from the cashier!The staff is top notch and highlights what a chain store lacks... Personalization. They care about the pets and it shows.Absolutely recommend to any and all.

Absolutely amazing family-owned establishment. You can tell the pets are well taken care of and the staff are knowledgeable. They have pre-made kits for most of their pets with discounts on the actual pet purchase should you buy one of their all-inclusive kits. They have a host of exotic animals and the expertise to make sure that you're prepared.

My experience here was off-the-chart positive. My son and I visited here after learning about it from someone at their Ann Arbor location (has a different name for some reason, The Pet Emporium). The woman we spoke to was very helpful and patient. We both learned a great deal from her.I came to this website after searching for the phone number and decided to write a review. I'll certainly be visiting this store again even though it is a little out of the way for me.

Good selection of animals, but the staff needs to re-prioritize their help.I just walked in today and expressed interest in buying a new pet. After about 5 minutes of a young lady answering my questions about care for the animals (since you should never go in blind) I made it clear I wanted to buy one. Just then, another customer entered the store and the young lady told me she’d be right back because she had to greet the customer. Fine, no problem.She never comes back! She left me there and started answering all this guys questions while I just stood there waiting. I walked out after waiting for 10 minutes. Even if you’re understaffed, it’s important to set clear expectations and attend to customers IN ORDER.

I’ve been going there for 27 years and I would not have anyone else do my macaws nails, wings and beak but Cathy. All of the employees have been very friendly and helpful. They have good pets for sale and anything you need to take care of them. Highly recommend them!!!
