What a gem. This restaurant/bar is on the Cut River. They have a large parking lot and outdoor seating.The food was really good. We had the NY Strip which was topped with herb butter.Happy Hour is 3-6pm, 7 days a week. $3 domestic & $5 Craft beer. Several specialty cocktails ❤️Live music on Saturdays.

I had a lot higher expectations for this place than delivered. It is in such a nice location. We walked in and it seemed odd, a bar room to the right and restaurant in the back. It seemed like it needed some updating in terms of the seating to match the rest of the decor. Our server was super nice, but not very good. She didn’t check on my son and I much at all. I had to flag her down for a refill. I inquired if there was cheese on the club because it didn’t list cheese on the menu, but the little photo of it looked like there was cheese. She said no, there’s not cheese on it, I said great! And ordered that. As she’s bringing the food out, she said, hun there is cheese on it, and I asked what kind, she said American and Swiss and I said, yeah, no, I don’t want that. (Not to be rude, but she literally should have checked when I asked if she didn’t know, what server does that?). So I said I don’t want it with cheese. She took it away, I assumed they were just gonna peel the cheese off and I was correct, when it came back it looked messy as all hell. And it was cold. So that ruined my meal. My son wanted a pizza and I told him that was too much just for him, so he ordered the pepperoni naan appetizer for his meal and he said it was way too small. They need an in between size pizza. He said it was ok. We won’t be back, only thing that was nice was the view.

Wow. I haven’t been up to the Higgins Lake area in quite some time, so I was surprised and impressed to pop into this restaurant. This is the restaurant that the area was lacking for quite some time. They had a great selection of craft cocktails, and a wide variety of wines. The menu is fantastic and includes something for everyone. I had the pumpkin spice Mule and the shrimp paradelle in Pomodoro sauce. The shrimp were so big I actually had to cut them with a knife! The noodles were homemade, and the sauce was too. All around it was a very good dining experience. I was seated quickly and my waitress was very friendly and attentive as well as the manager. Next time I am up here, I will definitely be back. It’s a fine dining experience for sure. They do live music, Thursdays and Saturdays and I’m told they have a trivia night as well. I highly recommend.

How do you describe perfection. Our waitress Anne was wonderful. She made us feel as if we knew her forever. That’s great customer service. Now for the food. Our compliments to the chef and kitchen staff. Outstanding. Plan on coming back to try more of the menu items. ( we were here 2 days in a row, I had heard about the great fish and chips, and it was as everyone said it would be…OUTSTANDING COD DINNER.) planning on bring friends here in the fall.

She got the shrimp tacos, and I had the New York Strip Steak.She said the tacos were good but wasn't enjoying the Spanish Rice because to her, the Rice was overcooked. I ate the Spanish Rice and I like Rice a bit soft.I normally don't get the New York Strip because it is not as good as a Prime Rib, but there was about a ten dollar difference, so I tried the NY Strip. I ordered it medium.There was a great deal of grizzle, and it seemed more than I remembered in past experiences.My food was tasty, but it took me a while to eat it because of the grizzle.We sat in the bar area, and it just seemed like it was missing something. I'm not sure, maybe a little music for atmosphere?

The food was absolutely amazing. I got the Chicken Alfredo which was perfect, while my mother got the Grilled Salmon which was, in her words, "perfectly seasoned and delicious". The service in general was top notch and the service person was extremely nice. The atmosphere was very elegant. Overall an extremely nice place with delicious food.

I was there just after opening, and it was empty. Service was excellent, as was the food, a turkey grinder. I'm a big grinder fan, so for me to really like it is saying a lot! Unfortunately, there was no sound. 4 tvs on without noise...thank goodness but no music at all. It was just weird. So I played music on my phone 🤣 The waitress enjoyed it and was very friendly. I will be back for mother's day!

We waited an hour for our food, I ordered one lobster tail dinner and was given a two lobster tail dinner that was $72 and told that was the only lobster tail dinner on the menu which isn't the case. Both of our dinners were cold. Our drinks took a very long time to come. Our server was very nice but seemed spread thin which wasn't her fault. The lights above our table were constantly blinking on and off. Not what we were expecting for a bill of $153 on Valentine's Day. Not sure we will be back.

Recommend! We always visit Higgins Lake/Houghton/Roscommon area every summer and always seen Cut River Grille (previously another establishment) but Cut River Grille caught our eye last year so we made sure to make plans to stop by this year, and it was great! The food was very fresh (all from scratch), the service (Connor) was also great; attentive, speedy and welcoming. Restaurant has a large dining in area and a large bar area and also a large patio area.. plenty to accommodate any size group. Plenty of parking available on site and great views of the river. Prices are a bit steep but for the product and quality it makes sense. Recommend a visit!Parking: Plenty of parking available on gravel parking lot on site. Kid-friendliness: Kid menu available with variety of options.

Our first and last time here. When we arrived (6 p.m.) there was only one other table of 2 there. We ordered drinks, after about 10 mins. order. When we placed our drink order we informed the server about the gnats flying around us, in the window and many dead on the sill. She said it was not normal. Party of 3 after us, got their appetizer and meal before we got our appetizer. Our appetizer whitefish dip with crackers ( best part of meal) took about 45 minutes to get, only to have it arrive less than 5 minutes before meal. Our meal was 1/2 sub and blt. (Were good). When our server brought our sandwiches she apologized that we didn't get our appetizer sooner and that there were 2 lines ( cooks) and ours was apparently backed up !!! Menu was overpriced.

Cut River Grille exceeded my expectations. Our server, Ann, was the highlight. Besides being friendly, Ann made menu suggestions that did not disappoint. Two forks up for the risotto. Other recommendations include bison steak, walleye, and perch. Go ahead and order dessert.Half star taken away for a small kitchen error that was quickly fixed. Half star taken away for commercials in the otherwise exquisite jazz music.

Had great meal and good atmosphere on Saturday night. The live music was great and the food even better. Four us all chose to order something different off the menu and split each of the items to sample. However, after biting into our respective selections, we ended up deciding to keep what we order because we were enjoying our own orders too much to share! Haha. The club sandwich, philly cheese sandwich, grinder and french dip were great! Thanks Cut River Grille!

My buddies and I make northern jaunts to Higgins Lake in the winter time every other year or so and we always make it a point to have dinner and drinks here. This most recent time we went was the best ever. Amongst us all we had the Steak Tips, Spinach and Artichoke Dip, a Grinder, Club Sandwich, French Dip, and Philly Cheesesteak - all tasty and great portions.A fantastic variety of drinks coupled with amazing service and great music entertainment made that particular night enjoyable.See you next year!

We have ate here several times. We have ate on the patio, in the dining room and at the bar. The food is always good, the service is excellent and we have never had a bad experience. I highly recommend this place. Also, the owners are often present. The one owner, Scott, will go out of his way to say hello to us and that makes us feel that much more welcome.

My husband and I celebrated valentines Day early, due to travel plans, and had a wonderful private dinner in the dining room overlooking the cut river winter scenery. The food was wonderful, and so was the service. We both had the rib eye with mashed potatoes broccoli topped with blue cheese butter. For desert we had homemade pie topped with rich vanilla ice cream for dessert. Everything was delicious! I highly recommend you come check out their chef specials and wine pairing dinners, as they have a wonderful wine selection available, and the food is so good! This place is a real gem in the Northwoods!

ZERO STARS. Please save yourself and go ANYWHERE but here if you are going to EAT. We ordered spinach dip, pasta marinara and fish tacos. The only thing we could eat were the tortilla chips. Everything was terrible. Spinach dip was over cooked mud onion paste, fish tacos; tortillas were toasted and had pickles on them? So confused. pasta sauce was bitter and acidic. I feel bad for the people working here trying to make tips in this place.Patio seemed good for music and drinks but … food… DONT DO IT. Waste of 50$.

Do not judge a book by its cover! Little gem in out of the way place. We were able to sit on the patio and bring our dog and we had the best server Stacy and we had the best food we have had in months! I had a chocolate martini and my husband had beer and An amazing dinner and dessert. Will definitely be back!!

I normally don’t do this but I feel the need to. We went to the food truck to get fish. Ended up getting some tacos too. Lady at the truck was nice but mistook our order. Ordered two cod dinner. One pork and one fish taco. Ended up with two portions of everything. Fish is definitely frozen and poorly frozen. Fish was dry, rubbery and fried to death. Cole slaw was warm so we didn’t eat it (I live 2 minutes away so it was not the fact it was in the box). Tacos were decent. The pork ones seem to have a lot of hard chunks in them. I know it’s a food truck. But for 14 dollars go somewhere else in Roscommon.

Absolutely 100 will not be back nor will I recommend. Food (what little we got because we didn't even get to order dinner after sitting for 33 minutes to order) was sub par at best (raw beef tenderloin) and overcooked escargot. Service was a joke. Both tables to left and right of us in the bar bills were a mess. Had to go to the bar to pay our tab just to leave. Had the pleasure of meeting their newest server. I feel very bad for her. Management walked past me 4 times and never offered to even check to see what the issue was.

It's been a couple years since I last visited the Cut, and the food and service was great. We had a group of 8 and 6 gave excellent reviews and two gave a good review on their meals. Most portions were big enough to share and pricing was reasonable.Will return before we head back home in a couple weeks. Nice outdoor seating options.
