I made an appointment with Emmett's weeks ago to have a technician fix my gas logs. The pilot kept going off, and eventually quit working altogether. Ken called the day before, and asked if he could come early - how often does that happen?His diagnosis was that I had a loose connection on the thermocouple, and a sticky shaft on the control knob. He offered two alternatives: he could clean them up, and it would work again, or he could replace the valve unit and thermocouple for a better long-term fix. I chose the latter.Ken's expert service and work ethic were a joy to behold. He cautiously disassembled everything, cleaned up the logs, vacuumed the entire hearth, and carried the assembly outside so he could use the tailgate of his pickup as a workbench. Then he replaced the sand and added new mineral wool for aesthetics.Once the job was complete, he briefed me on the operation of the new controls, picked up after himself, and answered all my questions.I highly recommend Emmett's for all your fireplace needs.

My fireplace is 14 years old. I have it serviced and tuned up about every 3-4 years. Ken has been the service person and does an outstanding job. Recently he did a thorough cleaning and resolved a problem I was having with my receiver and installed a new log. Appreciate his skill and attention to detail. Love my fireplace!

Steve did an excellent job with our fireplace. We had suspected a much larger issue, but Steve was able to not only resolve the issue with an inexpensive resolution, but he also cleaned our fireplace, repositioned the logs, and took the time to make sure we were satisfied. I can't recommend Emmett's enough for your fireplace needs.

If we could give 10 stars we would. We wanted to update our dated gold doors and put in a new electric fireplace. Eric in the show room was amazing and we could not have been happier with our experience with him. Brett and his installation crew were professional and very respectful of our home and our time. Bought my fireplace in 2022...I love it. I have to do a shout out to Eric VanDyne. He is the best. Takes the time to explain everything in detail. I am not techy at all. I had a small issue and Eric took the time to come out and he went thru everything with me and handled the issue. I cannot be happier with the service that I received.

We purchased an insert and chose to do the the install ourselves as a timing issue and a small cost savings. Eric and the crew at Emmett's were all a pleasure to deal with and patient with all our questions. The unit was delivered and placed on our hearth, the guys fully covered our carpet with canvas tarps, there was no mess left. Eric even helped me level the unit on our fireplace floor. I would recommend anyone to Emmett's when shopping for an insert.

I would highly recommend this place to everyone! Eric was so helpful. I was able to get a new gas fireplace set (within my budget, better quality, and less expensive than anywhere else I called in Macomb and Oakland counties). The set was in stock (unlike other places) and Eric loaded it all into my vehicle for me. Customer service was outstanding; I felt like family. A+

Pat walked us thru our options renovating our home and directed us to rehab what we had verse a costly new install, Greg came to our home several times and took extreme measures to leave it cleaner than when he came, Greg spend beyond the expected service to do “ more than he had to “ to help finish our fireplace to completion.

Their showroom is nice. My folks have purchased fireplace doors and liners over the last 30+ years. Recently, I purchased a Lopi wood burning insert. Lead time was long but to be expected due to the housing boom at the moment. I thought about performing the installation myself. Their 2 man crew was done in 3-4 hours! It would have taken me 10 times longer. Paying them was the way to go, worth every cent! The guys were polite cleaned up their mess and left no trace when they departed. My wife and I are extremely happy with our new purchase.

You can tell a lot about a company by how they deal with problems that come up. We've run into a couple and Emmett's has handled them. We purchased a fireplace/stove from them for our basement and the hearth pad that came in was the wrong color. They returned it to the manufacturer and ordered a new one. That one was in the wrong color as well. It turned out that Diamond Hearth had changed the tile color and pattern without updating their website or catalogs. Eric at Emmett's asked us to pick a different hearth pad -- we picked the Idaho Mica -- and he went ahead an installed the stove with the wrong pad so we could at least enjoy the fireplace. When the new hearth pad was ready, they came out and moved the stove, replaced the hearth pad, and replaced the stove. They even moved the electrical outlet behind the stove so the plug wouldn't show. Mike and Brett did a good job with the install. It has taken some time to work through the problems that came up, but we're happy with how Emmett's has handled them and pleased with the final result. Oh, and the price was better than every other quote we got.

I'll start by saying, we really wanted Emmett's to be our H&C company because they are the original installers of our Lopi stove.We've called in the fall or the past 2 years and both times they were booked out, so this year we called earlier. The man I spoke to said I would receive a call back. It's now been 3 weeks and I've received no call to even get on the schedule. So, if you have a LOPI STOVE and are looking for services, LOOK ELSEWHERE.Konieczka H&C, has previously done our repairs every time Emmett's was "booked out", so I called them and they immediately got us on the schedule 7 days out. We will now be lifers with them and you probably should be too.

Caren did a wonderful job today! First of all, she was right on time. She was able to diagnose the problem within 20 minutes methodically going from one part to another. She is extremely knowledgeable about my particular insert. I appreciated that she took the time to educate me on what she was doing and why I needed a particular piece replaced as well as what that piece controls.

I remember going to Emmett's when my parents were installing (and later replacing) a wood burning fireplace in the late 70's and early 80's. The excellent quality and service of the past had me seek them out for my own needs now (2021) and I found excellent quality and service still reign. Scott R and his assistant came to my home today to install my new insert and were professional, courteous, and efficient. He advised me on the features and the recommended maintenance before he left the area (clean and neat). If you are looking for reliable information, quality products, and courteous people, I found it all at Emmett's.

Scott called and said previous job had wrapped up and he could come early.Great. Arrived right when stated. Showed me how to use clips to secure my glass fireplace door properly. Found broken wire causing fireplace to stop after 5 minutes. Replaced wall switch at my request. Back in business. It was totally worth the long 6 week wait time. This company and its employees are the best.

This company is fantastic! I moved to a home with two fireplaces and I was told both were not in working order. I had never had a fireplace in my home previously so I was very uneducated on use and care for them. Scott came out and did a wonderful job getting everything back in working condition. He also explained how to use our dampers and gas log fireplace. He not only showed me how to turn it on and off but how to relight the pilot light. I was trying to write a note about it and he drew a picture for me to refer back to. Such a kind person! Even had such patience when my 4 year old wanted to show him toys and tell him stories. He really went above and beyond. The gentleman who called me for damper pricing options was also so kind and informative. He helped me make the correct choice. I can’t say enough good things about my experience with this company.

Cannot recommend these guys enough. Eric was so helpful when we went into the store and answered all of our questions. He also provided us with choices based on our budget. They had a great selection and we were able to see the product in person and learn about it before we bought it. Our installer Scott R. was amazing. He was friendly, knowledgeable, took all of the old fireplace parts away and cleaned up! He also took the extra time to make sure we knew how to operate the new fireplace. Just amazing from start to finish!

My husband and I are very pleased with Emmit's Energy and their employees. First call for service, was with a very pleasant lady who was very informative and set us up with a appointment that worked for us. Scott R. arrived as scheduled, he was respectful wearing a mask along with with social distancing. Scott came prepared to work on our fireplace and he put on a pair of slippers to protect our floors. Scott inspected, cleaned, and made sure our fireplace was working perfectly before he left. Scott R. provided us with setting recommendations and made sure we understood how to be more efficient and comfortable using our fireplace. I highly recommend Scott R and Emmits Energy.

Great staff. Worked with Eric and Allan. Eric provided useful information over the phone and during our visit to the Romeo store. Allan came to our home and walked us through process for replacement of existing gas log set. Then Allan and Caren came to our home on the date and time promised, installed the new gas log set, and answered our questions about the new remote control and maintenance. We could not be happier with the way we were treated by the team and the outcome.

Your technician, Ken, just left my house. He was here about a month ago because I could not get the pilot to stay on. He repaired it, went over the process with me and explained how to get the best result from my fireplace. I was super happy (and warm)! This lasted until the pilot got accidentally turned off. Then it wouldn't start again. Ken returned. He not only got my fireplace going again, he very patiently gave me another tutorial and explained there could be a problem with the pilot assembly. He assured me I had a good unit. He didn't try to sell me a new part; he simply said it could be a possibility in the future. I so appreciated this. It really makes me feel confident in the integrity of both Ken and Emmett's. If I ever have another problem, Emmett's (and Ken) will be the first place I call and I would recommend them to anyone I know who needs a fireplace replacement/repair.

I can’t say enough great things about Emmett’s Energy. We purchased a new gas insert for our fireplace. In the showroom, Eric took care of us and was patient in explaining all the options available, and I am telling you there are a lot of options when it comes to updating a fireplace. He made us feel confident in our decision and even recommend a guy to update the Masonary work on our brick fireplace. When it was time to install the insert, Scott came into our home and throughly explained the install process, was courteous and professional, and cleaned up everything after himself. He took his time in teaching me how to work the fireplace and gave me tips and pointers to troubleshoot any issues. I am so happy with our purchase and working with Emmett’s Energy. I would strongly recommend them if anyone is looking to install or revamp an existing fireplace. Thank you both Eric and Scott!

Called Emmett's to fix an issue that another fireplace repair company left for us to deal with. Ken, knew our system inside and out, he found the issue that the previous company couldn't fix and fixed it within an hour and installed a remote starter. Will definitely use Emmett's and Ken again if needed.
