Mariah is hands down the best. She always does a fantastic job with our dog Jackson, who never likes having his nails touched. Through a lot of patience, she's made him a lot less sensitive about his paws, and though still doesn't like it, has made great strides in his allowance of it. She always has him looking clean and sharp, and most importantly, Jackson loves her!

Our English Springer Spaniel just turned 4 years old on April's fool day. As a gift we make an appointment for her to get a professional haircut. And she came home well groomed nice and clean. The $10 Monday nail trim is the best. The staff is SO nice and friendly. Our 11 month old lab has grown to trust and love the process of getting his nails done since we've been taking him since he was young. Once you arrive you call their number and let them know you're there, they come out when they are ready for your pup, leash them and take them in. Sometimes there is a little wait in the parking lot as it's busy but once it's your turn it's a fast process. There are other ala carte items you can have done as well. Cub always comes back with his tail wagging. Thank you Petropolis for being so awesome!

Kelly, the groomer that takes care of our dog is amazing. She does a fantastic job with our little ragamuffin. He was nervous at first and not the easiest dog to work with but she worked with him along with us training him more at home and now she says he's great when he goes in for a haircut. I think every groomer there will probably do just as great a job. Highly recommend if you live in the area and have a pet that needs grooming to. Check there first and make an appointment.

Literally in tears after seeing my yorkies. I asked for my male to have a short cut and my girls tops to not be cut. My male has longer hair than my females. They are all completely chopped up. This is by far the worst cut they have ever gotten. It’s worse when your 16 year old son sees them and asks what happened to his dogs hair because these are yorkies. When ppl ask for specifics and are completely disregarded….I am extremely disappointed. And this is why people are so apprehensive about switching to new people, no matter what field they’re in.

They were told NOT to trim hair and not to trim nails because vet had said nails were fine. They did both. Even knowing he had an up coming vet visit. Wish them (her) luck in her business but my dog and any future dogs I'm lucky enough to have in my life will not be using this business again. My dog was going through a loss and I took him there for pampering. He left with a complex.

Our two pups love getting groomed at Petropolis in Rockford. The staff is always very happy and friendly and are quick to respond to texts and calls. Our dogs always leave looking great with their tails wagging. The price is shockingly affordable, way less than what we expected. Mariah there has done our sheltie twice and our dachshund once, and they both will be back many times to see her again. If you have been putting off getting your dog groomed (long or short haired) for whatever reason, this is a great location to see what a difference it makes.

Brandy did a great job with our pup! She is a husky and got her entire under coat blown out (which is very rare!!) and for the best rate in town! Definitely our go to groomer in Rockford!

I was hesitant to post a review but I feel I should warn others who are wary about their dog's fur like I am. I should state that while everyone there was very nice and I definitely appreciate that they are being extremely compliant with COVID, this is purely about how my dogs were groomed. Otherwise it was a very good experience. The first time I went, it was after the lockdown had hit and my dogs (Pomeranians) were very long and shaggy. I made it clear that I didn't want my dogs to be shaved at all unless absolutely necessary. When I came to pick my dogs up, one was shaved but the other was still long. I completely understood why she had to shave my one dog, since her fur was very matted underneath because of how long it had been since she had been groomed. Well, this recent visit, I once again reiterated that I liked them kept long and that they only needed a small trim since they had just gotten groomed a month or so ago. I came to pick my dogs up, and now the other has been shaved. I am devastated because Pomeranians take a long time to grow their fur back, and it's not guaranteed that it will grow back the same. It's also harmful to the dog because Pomeranians have a double coat, and it makes them sensitive to the heat and cold. I will not be going back to this place, as lovely as it is, because I do not feel listened to. I just wanted to put this as a warning to others who might be looking for a new groomer. Besides the grooming issues, I think this groomer is a very nice place. Just make sure that you are very explicit in your instructions if you do decide to go here.

I had tp spend $100 @ my Veterinarian after grooming here. My dog came home with a fungus on his hind quarters and belly from either dirty clippers or the padding in the kennels; either way very disappointed overall in the grooming done, sloppy and choppy.

I’ll never take my dog here again. Completely unprofessional. Shaved my 7 month old dog down to the bare skin without any consultation or permission from us. Had to take her to the vet immediately after to get treatment for all of the nicks and cuts. Who does this to an animal? Unbelievable 🤬🤬🤬
