When I need to purchase meat in Rochester, this is the only place I will buy meat. Their meat counter is excellent and every person that works behind the counter seems happy to be there and always has a good attitude. The butcher even cuts beef short ribs into Korean style thinly cut strips that my wife uses for Korean BBQ. If I was opening a butcher shop in Rochester, I’d hire every one of the people at that meat counter.I’m hearing a rumor that this store may be moving, I really hope it’s some gossip which isn’t true because my family has been shopping at this location since it was a Farmer Jack in the 1990’s.

I’ve been shopping here for 20yrs. It’s the only place I buy meat and never had a bad experience. It’s a friendly small market atmosphere and also where 2 of my kids had their first job. The managers and staff really were so kind to them and to me every time I shop here.

Mostly go here for the meat department which is the best in Rochester. Everything else is comparatively expensive to the local Kroger, except for some sales. The store could use a facelift. If you just change the many stained drop ceiling tiles, it would be a huge improvement.

A little expensive for my pocket. But a nice store. First visit to the store with my elderly client. The cashier was a bit rude and impatient with her, until I walked up. Overall employees were welcoming especially the door greeter.

Over all the store is good. Maybe a little pricey compared to others but good. I shop at 4 grocery stores. Hollywood I get my meats. The meat department is the star of the whole store. The customer service and personal treatment is stellar.However, the one star, or rather the minus -100 stars is the deli department. Worst deli customer service and attitude ever. Hollywood market area/district manager and managers need to get rid of the whole lot in the deli department. Specifically, the older woman and man who have poisoned the new hires with their attitudes and rudeness. They are the weak spot in the cloth without any long term vision. These two miserable humans have repelled, offended, and have deterred repeated customers from purchasing from Hollywood Market Deli. They are toxic. I have been purchasing deli items from Fresh Approach in Royal Oak. Yes, I drive to RO to not have interactions with the deli department if I can help it. Just simply unprofessional, not welcoming, and too concerns with the clock to when they can punch out and leave. I almost think that Hollywood Market should close the deli department until they can get a good team to run it as how it stands the existing seasoned staff is poisoning the well. I once was the only one standing in front of the deli, and 10 minutes had gone by without any acknowledgment from them until I spoke up. It was close to 7 (6:45) and it was more important for them to put away then to acknowledge a customer.I do hope a district manager or area manager reads this review, and find a resolution. Personally, I think secret shoppers to the deli department would be the best advocate. It is absurd how they treat customers so poorly in that department.

Older woman behind the counter (deli/hot food)was very rude and short. Sounds like she was either having a bad day or needs to be checked. We were literally nothing but polite, just seemed like she did not want to be there. Asked for some chicken and she shouted how much. We were not sure about what we needed, told her what we wanted and she shouted THATS A WHOLE CHICKEN. You could maybe just be cool and explain that to us. Terrible customer service. Outside of this crazy lady, the checkout person was so nice and polite. First time here, we will definitely never be back. Awesome.

We bought 6# standing rib roast for Christmas dinner that was loved by all. The meat department folks are extremely helpful and have great choices for not only meats but fish as well. There are other specialty foods throughout the store.

Nice store. Prices can be a little high on some things but sale prices make up for it. Has a nice old school grocery store feel to it. It's one of the best places to get quality meats such as steak. Staff is nice. They carry some harder to find healthy options also.

I've come to the Rochester store since they closed the Lake Orion location a few years ago. (The LO location is a tough act to follow with a manager who was second to none in respecting the customer and teaching his team how to be customer focussed.)Never-the-less, the Rochester store seems to be shaping up in the last few months, and I go there for the special deals they have on meats and exclusive name brand items that they carry. This time it was their Italian Hot Sausage and the Sy Ginsberg Corned Beef!They also have some great wine sales / selections and deli-dept items that are hard to get anywhere else. If they could align their basic staples prices to compete with the "big guys" they'd make me an exclusive loyal shopper.

I normally don't shop here because the prices are higher but I didn't feel like going to meijer or kroger, I didn't need to many groceries but was overall pretty satisfied with everything except the bread I bought. I actually just bought a half loaf of aunt millies I believe and I always check the date, it was dated 6 16 so it should be OK for a week right, wrong! Had a sandwich at work and the bread had mold on it! Not sure why the date was for June 16th expiration. Not happy at all!

I love this store. They carry Fenkell bread and Dearborn smoked sausage. Many things that other stores don't carry. And they have an exceptional meat counter with quality meats. The only store I buy chicken salad from.

Hollywood Markets is a great local grocery store. They don't often have the lowest prices but service at the deli and butcher counters and checkout are top notch.

What I like about this store is that they always have enough cashiers. If you go to Kroger or Meijer, it seems like there's always a line to the back of the store because there's one cashier working, and then the self checkout line. I actually saw a cashier waiting in their lane for someone to check out, here. You can get in and out of this store for a grocery trip in 20 minutes if you know what you're doing. The meat counter is also phenomenal. If you need meats, come here.
