Staff are very friendly and helpful.. 3 stars for price point.. The discount price is the full price at other wild bird unlimited stores. The prices have gone up drastically in less than a month from 29 to 40 for 20lb bag of food..

I love Wild Birds Unlimited - one of my favorite niche stores. They are always so helpful and friendly and in my experience I've noticed the quality of the seed is better than what you'd typically find in a regular retail outlet. We have been able to attract Juncos, Mourning Doves, House Sparrows, House Finches, Red-Winged Blackbirds, Tufted Titmice, squirrels, deer, Blue Jays, Crows / Ravens, American Robins, Goldfinches, and even some Oriels once in a while, and there are more I'm sure I'm forgetting.

This store is so much fun! So many things here for wild birds that I didn't even know existed. The employees are so knowledgeable and taught me about the spicy birdseed they sell. Apparently, birds cannot taste the heat, but squirrels can. The spicy birdfood therefore makes for a great squirrel deterrent, and so many different types of spicy seed, pellets, and suet are available. They also have sassflower seeds to help deter grackles.They also sell fancy catnip, some bird books, hummingbird nectar, and yard decor. Lots of bird feeders, bird baths, and bird boxes too!

The lady there was so extremely helpful and informative. This was my first time getting a bird feeder for my yard and she gave me all sorts of options and the pros and cons of each.She also walked me through the sorts of bird feed that different species around here like (I even learned that birds can’t taste spiciness but squirrels can). Apparently larger chains put “filler” seeds in the bird seed bags they sell that the birds actually won’t eat, but this store only put edible seeds in bags.Overall, amazing selection, not really that pricy, and it’s worth the visit just to learn more about different birds if you’re a beginner enthusiast.

The lady running the store was rude ( on more than 1 occasion) and sold me seed different than what I requested. Very unhappy with their customer service. It's supprising because the royal oak location is so friendly warm and helpful.UPDATE:Last time I went visited the store there was a gentalman that was very helpful and nice. Changing the rating from 1 star to 4 stars. If the service continues to be exceptional will update to 5 stars.

Aside from the fact that the owners are two of the most wonderful and caring people you’ll ever meet, these are the most energetic and the knowlegeable of their products and bird feeding in general. Even if it’s somewhat “out of your way”, you NEED to make the effort to go here!

Great place for all things with beaks and sharp teeth! Feed birds and squirrels from their awesome selections. Carl and Linda are a neat couple who are extremely helpful and knowledgeable.
