I just want to say thank you to the staff at Somerset Dog Grooming today! I brought my 1 year old doberman into the salon who HATES getting her nails/paws touched despite consistent exposure. The owner so so accommodating and helpful with me throughout the whole process. He even helped me get her in the door! Thank you for getting most of her nails done today!

Apparently, they can't follow simple directions. Asked them to leave the hair long on my puppies heads. There were no mats, so they couldn't use that excuse. This is what I get back.

This is the best groomer in the area! They take same day appointments and do a really great job with my shiba. The owner is terrific with animals and both of my dogs are very calm around him. I feel comfortable knowing my dogs are in good hands :)

They took great care of my dog. Good haircut. My dog was deemed difficult - by another groomer - so I agreed to bring him in bathed and pay a higher price. My dog was well behaved during visit.

I took my dog to this grooming place and when i got him back I realized that his nails are not cut , he wasn't given a bath and most importantly i realized he had a rash all over him . This is what concerned me the most. It seems like they did not clean the razor they used on him. I am really disappointed with there service. I expected more since the reviews are all good.

I was so excited to come here since I saw all the good reviews online about this place. To put it short, I was disappointed. They were nice enough to put my two dogs (yorkie and poodle mix) into a cancellation spot and they were very friendly and nice when we got there. However, they are expensive compared to everywhere else I have ever taken my dogs. Also, they did a slopping job on both of my dogs haircuts. They didn’t take time to do in between their feet or even really just shave them nicely all the way through. There was uneven spots on my dogs that we ended up having to cut ourselves once we got home. Definitely not satisfied with the haircut or the price. Also, they didn’t even get cute little bandanas or anything after the haircut and for that price I was definitely expecting ones since cheaper places do it! To end this, I don’t want to leave an bad review because they were very nice inside however I was dissatisfied with their grooming job on both dogs.

I wanted to like this place since everyone is nice, but on THREE different occasions they forgot to cut/grind my pups nails so I’d have to drive all the way back to get them done. If they remembered, They would cut them so quick (witnessed it) and would leave them sharp…honestly this place was a headache. They also cut behind my dogs ears and didn’t blend it so it looked so uneven and choppy. …Found another groomers not too far from them and they do a MUCH better job!

I cannot say enough great things about Somerset Groomers. We inherited a husky/collie mix from a good friend. My husband and I have only had short hair, low maintenance Boston Terriers and I had no idea how to maintain Kitty’s coat. I have passed their facility a million times so the name was the first to come to mind when I needed to get him groomed. They did a fantastic job back then and still never fail to do an amazing job on Kitty’s coat and feet. John is fabulous with all breeds and always on point with his customer service. I recommend Somerset Groomers to every dog owner I meet

My first time sending my <10lbs toy poodle for grooming. Michelle specializes in smaller breed dogs. She's amazing and very friendly. She did a "teddy bear cut" on the face to make her look all round and cuddly. On her body, Michelle did a "lamb cut", shorter cut on the body and fluffy legs. Adorable!

We have been customers at Somerset Dog Grooming for a while, but are very disappointed that the quality of their haircuts and their customer service is not the same as it once was. Our dog (clearly stated several times that he was a male) came out with bows in his hair. We laughed and got over it since it really wasn’t too big of a deal. What we found to be very upsetting was that he had been cut on his leg during the grooming, and that they did not even notify us of the injury. When we were home, we noticed his leg was shaking and that they had put a white powder on the wound. We ended up going to the vet for antibiotics and pain medication because his leg became swollen. We are very sad that this happened to our boy, and wanted to share our experience with others. Would NOT recommend Somerset Dog Grooming to anyone that loves their pet…

I had a great experience with the Rochester Hills branch. First time there and I was nervous bringing my 18 month old Cocker Spaniel there as he was not doing well with other groomers. He was a little traumatized and I expressed the experiences to John at Somerset about the cut and nails. John patiently listened to my concerns did a test nail trim as I watched. That gave the confidence to continue the grooming. My dog was in great spirits afterwards and everything looked great. I paid a little more than my other groomers, but I was ok with that because of how they handled me and my dog. Repeat customer.

My dog has been coming here since we got him at 3 months old. John has taken amazing care of him always. We took him grooming somewhere else ONE TIME and we regret it. He is always comfortable being there. They make brownie look so good, clean and it lasts! They take him in fast and do not take forever. I would recommend them to any fur parent! Let me start by sharing that my dog had spinal surgery and while he can stand and walk on his hind legs they are not as functional as they used to be. It is always a fear of mine that someone won't understand the little things he needs like being scratched because he can not scratch himself or allowing him to poo were he does because it just happens and he can't stop it.John came out and picked my dog up and showed the same level of care and affection I show my dog. This really means a lot to me because my dog means the world to me. I was in the trenches with him while he recovered and he deserves the best care.John asked me how I'd like him cut and they did exactly as I asked. My dog looks great, smells mild which is good because everyone else I've used uses strong smelling shampoos. His nails were trimmed well.I can tell they took good care of him because he was happy and excited when I arrived. Mind you he didn't even know I was there yet and he was trying to hop. If my dog likes these people, I like these people.Thank you guys!

I am really picky about the way my two Shelties are groomed and I tend to wait just a little too long to schedule an appointment, they usually arrive pretty scraggly, and dirty. This is the 3rd local place I have tried, I have to say it is my new preferred grooming place.I called, they had space immediately, they were efficient, polite and respectful of my requests. They didn't give me a hard time about my request to be slow and gentle with the blow dryer. My dogs came home relaxed and beautiful. Previously at other places, they were so stressed, they came home and slept the whole day. They did both of my dog in 3 hours, I am used to the groomer asking to have the dogs the whole day. When I came to pick up my dogs they were loose with another dog and completely relaxed, no shrill barking from any dog.Lastly the price was perfect. Normally I have paid anywhere from $80 to $120 (without tip). The price was $90, and the attention to detail was spot on. I highly recommend this place.

Was in town for the holidays with my 10 pound chihuahua mix (mixed with something with long fur) who was looking a little scruffy. It was the 23rd so it was super last minute and I happened to be eating at subway next door when I noticed the grooming place. We walked in, they said they could squeeze me in at 4:30 for $45 for a full groom. I called around to a couple other places, none of which even answered, and the one that did answer said their earliest appointment would be the 29th of December and they couldn't give me an exact quote until they saw the dog. Scheduled the appointment with Somerset and couldn't be happier with the results. When we dropped her off they did what they could to make my dog feel comfortable since she was nervous, and when I wasn't sure about the cut length I wanted they went ahead and trimmed a little patch of her to show me the different ones so I could pick, which was really appreciated. They told me 1-2 hours and were done at right around the hour mark. When they found out I was in town from Utah they asked how the prices compare to out there and it was clear that they care very much that their pricing is competitive and fair, which can be hard to find with groomers. I double checked after, and I pay slightly more out in Utah (53 before tip), and I would say Somerset did just as great of a job. If I'm ever in town again I'd definitely take my pup there and would happily recommend Somerset to anyone in the area needing a groomer!

This place is great! They usually have same day appointments for our furry family member! The staff is always friendly and the price is .....not to bad about $35.00 for a shave, shower, nails, and ear cleaning. We come here at least once a month, and everyone wins!

We took our daisy dog twice. The first time was after a long wait because of the closing of the virus so she was cut very short and it was okay but when we will took her back they cut her hair terrible. She was so uneven all over her body and the cut so close to her little behind area that she was missable. We always take very good care of her and we been using a groomer in west Bloomfield for 10 years and never ever had this problem. My husband called this week to explain and to see if we can get a more experience person and he was very rude and no help at all. I would never take my fur baby there. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

I have a 12 lb. toy poodle who desperately needed a haircut. Unlike the Urban Dog in Rochester, I had an appointment within 48 hours. I paid less than $50 and they were very good with my dog. I will remain a loyal customer.
