The employees are excellent! Great customer service. The produce quality could use improvement. Oh and those Kroger cartoon characters are just an eyesore. Please consider banishing them lol.

I was returning bottles around 2pm at this location and when done went with my receipt to cash the money. I had scanned the receipt multiple times and was confused as it kept telling me to set item aside and scan next item. I thought I was supposed to buy something or had to buy something. When I grabbed a monster from the cooler I had scanned it and the lady walked over. She has a limp and was wearing a mask in the area closest to the bottle returns in the self service area. She had helped me get the receipt to go through and she had tried to let me pay for the drink I had rang in since the drink costed more than what the receipt was worth. I explained I was confused and thought I had to buy an item to get the receipt to work and I didn’t want the drink and she said “then why’d you grab it” in a rude tone. I understand we have bad days and she might see from her perspective that I’m unintelligent or did something to make her upset, but that isn’t the case. I don’t do bottle returns at Kroger and I don’t know if I will want to in the future if she acts the way that someone else might act when confused. Being confused doesn’t make someone unintelligent or make them sabotage you in anyway. You work in customer service you have to realize helping confused customers is your job.

While I believe that this is one of the nicest and friendliest Kroger's in the area I am shocked by their prices. Large coffee creamer almost $2.25 more than Meijer. Frozen pie crust almost $2.75 more than Meijer, not sure how people afford to shop here. Also, the selection is half of Meijer. Glad this trip was for a singular item I needed because I won't be back.

Waisted my money buying a dinner for my family at the Richmond Kroger. Purchased their chicken strips from the deli. They were like rubber!!! I had a hard time cutting it with a knife. Absolutely disgusting. It completely ruined the meal I had planned. I hate every single shopping experience I have at this location. Many, many times they did not have the ingredients I need or the produce was moldy and rotten.

This is the best Kroger in my area, but it is really hit or miss most of the time. The employees are great and helpful, but the store isn't always clean or stocked. I've also noticed they're not carrying as many products as they used to.Produce is always good, though! And the meat.

I am not impressed with the Richmond Kroger. On two occasions, from all the times I've shopped there, I have encountered an employee who was pleasant and helpful. These occasions stand out because of their rarity. Every other time the employees have been rude and act as if you are bothering them. In one instance, the checkout line was all the way down the aisle, so I spent quite a while waiting in line. There were multiple employees standing around up front who probably could have opened up a few lanes to help with this issue. The self checkout machine kept messing up and the employee had to come over and scan her badge and type in a code about 6 times. I apologized for asking her to come over so much, even though it wasn't actually my fault, I was just being polite. She barely acknowledged me, all the while making nasty comments about me. Maybe I was inconveniencing her because the store's machine was having issues? I'm not sure if she thought I couldn't hear her, but she was talking out loud and I could definitely hear her, along with the customer at the next checkout who was looking over in disbelief. I'm not one to write reviews normally, but this was appalling. Customer service is definitely important if you want to run a successful business and retain customers. Judging by my experiences at this store, they haven't figured it out. I won't be going back to this store. Grocery shopping isn't exactly fun, especially with the costs of basic necessities ever rising, but the employees at this store make it unnecessarily more unpleasant. At least at Meijer the employees are pleasant, smile, and thank you for giving them your business.

In the past 2.5 years, since the new manager came in, the store has gotten really bad!Fresh produce isn’t fresh, some of it isn’t even edible. If they have it in stock, that is.I have complained to the produce manager and the store manager and got nothing but shrugged shoulders.The company advertises “Fresh for Everyone”. I’ve complained to corporate as well and they said they would look into the problem. I guess they forgot, nothing has improved. No improvement in quality and freshness, and not in attitude either.I had read local complaints online, and many other customers have similar experiences.There’s another grocery store about the same distance away, in a different direction. That store is able to keep products in stock, and everything is fresh. I guess I know where my business is going!

Friendly staff. Always ready to help. Cashiers and baggers make checking out so easy. Parking lot is small but that's a small price to pay considering all the other perks.

Absolutely horrible. They never have enough people on checkout and I refuse to do self checkout. I don’t get paid to bag my groceries.. managers standing around.. get behind a register and do something! If you’re the manager you should know how to run the register and it’s not above your pay! SERVANT LEADERSHIP!

The bottle room was in shambles, not a single machine working. Customer service deferred help to some bagging kids that were already overwhelmed. Asked to make a complaint and handed me some notepaper and a pen. Awful customer service new manager is non-existent in their duties apparently. Store 706 is a disaster go anywhere but here! Meijer shockingly much better experience

First time working out there today with Instacart and needed help. I couldn’t find some Halloween candy. I found a lady to help me and she was fantastic! Lynn went above and beyond. Actually showed me all areas of candy. Nice to see great employees!

This location seems to have really good fish and their awesome home made Seeded Rye and Pumpernickel breads that just have a meaty type taste and isn't like eating light air type textured bread: I even end up freezing most of it because it expires pretty fast having all natural ingredients: Good stuff to try out

50 people in the self checkout line . The line ends at the pharmacy, might want to think about hiring a few more people to work . 1 cashier and 1 self checkout opened . Very poor customer service !

I’ve been around this store for awhile. Recently turned 25 with an expired ID, Employees should be updated that since Covid, You can renew your license through a kiosk at the DMV. They don’t “staple” the temporary paper on the old license due to no human to human interaction required. Meijer has updated this. I’ve bought wine many times on my way out and it’s pure ignorance that I had to wait near 10 minutes for someone and a manager to stare into my temporary certificate wondering why it wasn’t “stapled” it’s been less than two weeks expired. only to be told no despite Covid changing laws on this when RECENTLY expired. Literally have checked out so many times in the last 6 months. I usually have no problems as I’ve used it prior in the last week so, for it to suddenly matter was extremely irritating. Covid changed a lot and people working who check these things should be informed.

Absolutely one of the WORST kroger in MI! Do not expect to find anything you’re looking for and if you’re lucky enough to come across one of your desired items, they will have the bare minimum. NO different flavors, special editions, nada. Variety does not exist here. Top it all off with a rude staff that do nothing other than contribute more disappointment to an already miserable experience.Thanks Richmond Kroger.

Richmond and Imlay City Kroger are horribly mismanaged and quite frankly suck. The Deli at both stores is rarely open during peak afternoon hours. Both stores are very often out of stock on the weekly advertised specials. I will start driving further to go to Meijer instead of wasting my time going to Kroger.

I never make poor posts unless it is truly justified. Today I let my daughter take the small child sized cart. (Something I never do because I know I need to walk it back inside the store afterwards.) But today after she emptied her shopping cart (that she was thrilled to use) we started to walk it back inside when I saw a worker with a bunch of these carts. I told my daughter to give it to the employee and the employee proceeded to yell at my 8 year old daughter. First off, there are about a million and 1 other ways that could have been addressed. Perhaps talking to me directly would have been more effective...But to yell at an 8 year old is unacceptable of anyone, especially an employee. I'm very disappointed. I will no longer use your establishment after being a loyal customer for over 20 years! Time to work on your customer service!

Always out of stock of a lot of items. Cleanliness is ok. Most of the Cashiers are not very friendly. Their pick up system is atrocious. I have used it twice and both times I have only gotten half of my order because the rest of the items were “out of stock”. The fruits & vegetables I did receive were pretty bad. Am on the lookout for a new store to shop at because this one is very frustrating to deal with every week. I stay for the gas points. 🤷‍♀️

I got yelled at today by one of the baggers during check out for putting my chips in the wrong place in MY cart because they are fragile😂 i dont care that i got yelled at, as i am an adult and i could tell the employee had a disability but its not the first time an employee has been rude for no reason.Also stock is low on many items multiple times or they are out of stock completely. Their workers blindly push the large carts around and they've almost hit me on several occasions. Im ready to go back to meijer, Even though their lines are atrocious, i have no issues with them.

I usually shop late at night due to my schedule and U-scan is the only way to check out. I always have a full cart of groceries so the U-scan takes forever. During my last trip the U-scan attendant Amanda was amazing. She offered to scan everything on the bottom of my cart and the big items (toilet paper/diapers). She then got another cart and assisted loading my groceries since they were piling up on the U-scan. She was so nice and helpful.

Rude self checkout girl more interested in putting coins in her register than simply helping people with returnable coupons. Line spans one self checkout to another but only one side is open at rush out, baggers just standing around, could easily open 2 sides of check out.Hopefully we can get another grocery store in town

We go to this Kroger all of the time, it's a decent store and they have what we need.My favorite part about this store since, since the click list has started, is how the aisles are constantly clogged with new employees pushing huge carts around not paying attention to customers. I love how I have to move out of the way while employees blindly walk around with no regard for others.The other awesome thing about some of the employees is how they stand in the middle of a main aisles talking and laughing in small groups of three or more while customers have to take turns squeezing by them one cart at a time.Also, don't forget to step aside for the many young managers that are constantly strutting around acting super important and walking next to each other in a sort of moving, human wall.I almost forgot the state of the art self scan check outs; scan an item, put it in the bag, take it back out because the machine told you too, scan it again, bag it, repeat several times. These modern marvels have really streamlined the checkout process.I have some simple advice for the store management to take and to train their employees to do: cater to the customer. Let them go in front of you, don't inconvenience them, be polite, don't clog up the aisles for social hour while customers have to take turns squeezing by you.....these are just a few suggestions and management should feel free to expand on them while sticking with a similar theme; be helpful or get out of the way.All of the above aside, I actually don't mind the store. As I said, they always have what we need and it's reasonably priced. This is also the closest store to us and they are always open.There are many good employees there that are polite, helpful and mindful of others. It just seems that recently, this place stopped training new employees and it's going downhill quick.

The new belted self checkouts have several hindered the store's ablity to check yourself out quickly. Instead of usual six self checkouts being open late, there are now only four. The one with the belt does not allow you to bag as you go, so effectively they have double the amount of time it would take to check out normally. I was there at 9:45 on a Wednesday night and there was a line to check out that stretched for several aisles. The simple solution would be opening the other six self check out scanners, but that wpuld require paying another employee to assist that section and Kroger seems to not want to do that. I feel bad for the one employee I saw trying to manage the ones that were open. I'm not sure the point of making the process much, much slower and more frustrating for everyone involved.

Came in to buy a few necessities and there were NO carts. I was forced to go in the COLD and grab my own cart. I figured it wasn’t that big of a deal. First look walking in everything is normal until I was checking out. The checkout lady was gossiping obnoxiously loud to her co worker. That was fine until I could tell they were arguing. And out of nowhere the lady checking me out stops what she’s doing and smacks her coworker and then walks away. I just wanted to get groceries not see a fight. I had to call for another worker to help check me out but he couldn’t even speak properly. Kept slurring his words.. never coming back again, I will take my money to meijer next time
