Melissa always has a smile on her face while working hard and never finishes a project until it looks its absolute best. She works very well with other wedding vendors as well as her client's family and friends. Short Story: You will not regret working with Melissa! She is an amazing florist who knows what she's doing!Long Story: I cannot recommend Melissa enough! She was our florist for our February 2020 wedding and was absolutely amazing to work with. She was extremely flexible with scheduling a time to meet with us and from the moment we first talked with her, we knew she was the right florist for us! The other florists we had met with all took our "inspiration photo" literally. They priced exactly what they saw and then sent us on our way. Not Melissa! She sat down with us and helped us create designs that fit our budget, were realistic, and followed the idea of the inspiration photo. She gave us cost effective alternative options, provided her own suggestions, listened to what we liked and didn't like, made sure we understood what items would be in season, and had some great innovative ideas to achieve what we were looking for! We walked out of our first meeting with Melissa ginning ear to ear and so excited to book her! The next few months of working with Melissa were a breeze. She was so easy to communicate with, made sure we knew exactly what she needed from us and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. On the day of the wedding I walked in and could not believe the BEAUTIFUL flowers Melissa had delivered. Honestly, my bouquet was one of the prettiest things I have ever seen! She took exactly what we were looking for and made it a reality. No fuss, no issues, no surprises, just beautiful flowers! After having such an amazing experience with Melissa, I don't think I will ever use another florist. Thank you, Melissa!

I absolutely love it here, DEFINITELY the best shop in Richmond to get flowers. I got a corsage and boutonniere from them for a school dance, the whole experience was amazing!! They sat down and planned what flowers i wanted and leaves that I decided to put on; also when I came in the day of, I was a bit early so they didn't have the flower on yet but it provided me the opportunity to make a few last minute changes and they were SUPER accommodating! This is my second time getting a set from them and I also got a bouquet from them for my birthday, if you are ever looking for flowers think of them first!

We brought ideas into the shop of what we wanted to represent my dad, and they delivered the highest quality fresh flowers the day of the funeral. Oh.My.Goodness!!!!! Melissa and her team, amazing!!!! They were all very professional, helpful, kind, & understand. I am an put of town Bride from Chicago who had my wedding at Michigan Meadows. I reached out to a few places and so happy that I ended up working with Melissa.To be completely honest have no creative eye when it comes to flowers but I did know I wanted to stay away from more traditional styling. (All white) And Melissa nailed it!!!! I told her my colors and she took it from there. She was a dream to work with and I highly recommend anyone to her. Thank you again so so much for everything. Two words. Absolutely amazing. As someone in the military, I had to plan my wedding in Michigan from the other side of the world. Melissa was so helpful in accommodating my situation. I told her what I wanted and was BLOWN AWAY with how perfect everything turned out. Not to mention for the price!!! I told her what I wanted and how much I wanted to spend, and got WAYYYYY more than I expected. She also had great recommendations to make my flowers look beautiful. I got so many compliments, and so many people asked if they could take a center piece home! They truly made my wedding amazing! If you are planning a wedding near here I highly recommend them. I am so happy that i called Blue Orchid. This was my first time ever ordering from a flower shop. Melissa was so helpful.I couldnt visit my mom on her birthday because of Coronavirus, so i wanted to send her a flowering plant. Melissa recommended a "Calandiva". It was perfect. She sat down with me and talked through my vision and theme and helped me pick out the perfect flowers to match, while working within my budget. My husband and I just recently got married in July of 2017. To be completely honest, I knew nothing about what I wanted when it came to flowers for our wedding. I walked into The Blue Orchid and Melissa greeted me with a huge smile. I showed her some pictures and she immediately began putting together some sample flower arrangements right then and there. I bought flowers to make my own bouquets from Blue Orchid Florist for my October wedding. Blue Orchid was kind enough to reassure me over the phone that I (not a flower expert) would be happy with what I ordered for my wedding bouquets. When I arrived to pick up the flowers 2 days before my wedding, Melissa kindly provided me with all of my ordered flowers and then when my greenery did not get delivered as planned from a different wholesaler, she was able to provide me with a large amount of greenery in a very quick amount of time so that I could have the bouquets I wanted for my wedding. Melissa at the Blue Orchid did such a fantastic job delivering excellent customer service and providing me with beautiful arrangements and bouquet for our wedding.I contacted Melissa through Thumbtack, as I was planning our wedding from Phoenix to have our wedding with family in Michigan. She was prompt with her responses and she was able to create my bouquet from a picture I found on Pinterest. She recreated it perfectly! I was so very pleased at the results, planning remotely and by email and phone alone.I would highly recommend The Blue Orchid for great customer service, affordable arrangements and giving me the arrangements I find so visibly appealing every time I view my wedding photos. I get so many compliments on them from anyone who has seen my photos. They were made from silk flowers, which looked so real! Her expertise and resources are superior!

I cannot speak highly enough about the fantastic job Melissa with The Blue Orchid did for my mother in laws funeral arraignments. I called her and told her my mother in law loved purple and carnations and gave her our blessing to just run with those two simple directions. When we got to the funeral home we were are so pleased to see what she came up with! We received so many compliments because they were so pretty and so different than anything else there that also seemed to have a purple carnation theme.
