The lady that run''s the shelter is very judgemental on people who are trying to adopt !! Trying to give a wonderful pet a good home . That why I will always go to UPaw's the people there are very good with finding a good fit for your family ( And they aren't Judgemental they are real nice people there !!!

Was very dissatisfied... Had adopted a puppy around the beginning of July, it is not feb and unfortunately due to unforseen issues we have to move and are unable to keep him so per contract we brought him back because you can't rehome them..... I explained while there that he will not potty train and is aggressive and got nothing but a for shame on you attitude and disgust better then me look down on for bringing him back. This was our families first baby and my son was with and it was already hard as hell. Instead of her just saying ok or I understand I am told the potty training and aggression is my own fault and had he gotten fixed already then all that would have been fixed and not happening which I have known plenty of people with digs, not all fixed and it does not guarantee or not guarantee issues with potty training nor agression, mind you that was towards my children more then anyone. Either way I wasn't able to keep him due to the move and the attitude they gave me is prolly why people rehome and do what ever else they think is best because of there behavior when you do have to bring them back....

We were just there and honestly the staff was awesome and very patient with us making sure we found the kitty right for us, and man he is the best! Thank you for an excellent experience. So we went back and got another kitty and she's so chunky and awesome! Is still adjusting but she is just a sweetheart ❤️

Workers were friendly and answered our questions. Unfortunately the dog we had went there to look at and hopefully adopt and already gone to his forever home.The workers did not try use a high-pressure selling technique to get us to look at others. They let us know the dog was adopted, but told us to keep looking on their website. I also use Petfinder .com to look for particular breeds we are interested in, which also shows which shelter the pet is in.Almost Home was very clean, did not have an overpowering odour of urine, as some shelters I've been to and others I've volunteered at, have, so they are not overcrowded.I may not have found our next pet there, YET, but you might, so I recommend going and looking at this shelter and others, to adopt your next pet.

Adopted 3 dogs from them over the years. Great people working there. And very friendly. They really try to give these animals a good home. Athena, Bella and Henry are very thankful. And so am I. God Bless them for there hard work and dedication to these poor animals.

My daughters and I go here about once a month to get our “cat fix” and to see the dogs. The staff at the front are not very friendly. I have asked about several cats and I too, like others have said, get looked at like I’m crazy and why would they want to help me with adopting one. My daughter also turned in volunteer applications TWICE with no response or phone call. I feel the staff should be more caring towards and friendly to the people that come in. I don’t have to go there with my girls but choose to see the cats and pay them some attention. If the staff was more friendly I would consider adopting an animal but not with the way they treat people now.

My family and I love and appreciate all of the care, hardwork and love that everyone involved here at the almost home animal shelter put into the animals here. We have adopted a couple cats and when things are going well I can always depend on them to put a smile on my little girl's faces. And the volunteers are very helpful and super at there job. Thanks for all you do.

I messaged Almost Home Animal Shelter looking for a playmate for my 2 dogs I adopted from somewhere else. I got a response back the next morning that they had a dog that they weren't gonna just let anyone adopt, and i understand why.. I did the meet and greet with my 2 and everything went very well. I adopted her and I couldn't be happier. Very nice staff clean place. Thank you Almost Home Animal Shelter for giving these furry babies a change to find a forever home.

We were looking for a loving playful older cat we looked at a few they had then we met stark who looks like a mountain lion and as big as one too! I knew we had to have him being that he grew up there! So we took him home 🏡 and I couldn't have asked for a more awesome cat!! He's large and in charge and hilarious! Thank you to the staff!!!

It seems the overwhelming consensus is true. The staff here are not only rude but are more than okay to belittle you and judge you. My puppy (who was not adopted at the shelter) was recently killed in a freak accident and Diane the lady who runs the shelter threw it in my face that I must not be a good pet owner. She used personal tragedy to tear me down and she doesn’t even know me. She tried to shame me. A heartless person like this is not someone you want to be involved with.

My mother adopted two kittens from this animal shelter. The day she brought them home she noticed the kittens were very sick, they would not eat, drink, play, or even move around much. They had very little energy. She even noticed they had unhealthy looking fur. After a couple of days the two kittens still were not getting any better, they struggled to even find the energy to use the litter box that they would go right on the floor where they were laying. My mother brought them to the vet where they were both confirmed to have a virus and were put on antibiotics. A few more days pass and the kittens were still not getting any better. My mom even told me she did not think the kittens were going to make it. After much thought my mom decided to return the kittens back to the animal shelter and get her money back. My mom explained the situation to the lady at the counter, and she very rudely told my mom that antibiotics would not work for a virus and that they would work it out themselves. The lady also told my mom that the kittens were not sick. In my opinion the lady at the counter is not a Veterinarian and has no right to determine if a cat is sick or not and what they should and should not be taking. We hope the best for all the animals at this facility, but due to poor customer service and rude comments we will no longer be purchasing animals from this shelter.

Great place for a new pet to adopt or if you find a stray to turn in. The staff is awesome and they treat the animals wonderfully! I just love that place!!

My fiance and I adopted our cat from there and she brought home a cold. We had to move back in with my mother and the cat we got from there gave all our cats the cold and even killed 2 of them. They don't take care of the cats like they should. We also got a dog from there and they said he was dog friendly but we brought him home and he went after our dog(who he had met before). I do not reccomend this place to get an animal from.

Staff shouldn't be allowed to talk to customers any way they want. Their job should be to bring money in house and send animal home with someone. As an individual who has donated time, old sweaters for bedding as well as food, i will never again. You never attack a person's point of view or life because their views differ from your own. For that, i hope they are stuck footing the bill forever for an animal to never be adopted and die in it's cage due to their staffs negligence and how they handle people who donate to them.

Very many kittens in one cage. With so many cages empty, thought perhaps they could separate them a bit. Visited many other shelters, this one had no toys for most of the kittens, cats or dogs. Maybe people could also donate them too. Just that one side room, where the cats could run around seemed stimulated. Otherwise was a nice shelter.

Anyone else have an issue with the almost home animal shelter staff ? Well I sure did. I had went there with my friend @kim She was looking for a cat to adopt so I went to the counter to ask if we could see a cat, the response I got was "how are you supposed to afford a cat if you cant afford rabbits" and I said that it's for my friend and they said "well they have to be here" well I told them she was in the back looking, so they came back and unlocked the cage and so we could go into the cat room, Well i was upset so i went up and told the lady "it is very unprofessional to say that to someone coming to adopt" she continued on with her bringing up me rehoming rabbits because I cant afford them. Then I told her the reason I cant afford them is because I just spent 300$ on my cat and dog. Then said I charge to much for my rabbits and they charge less. Last time I check 20$ was less than 50$, so the convo goes on and she decides to say "well I know who your brother is" like what does that mean? She went on to say stuff my brother has done and tell me how she knows who my family is and she knows who I am. Who am I? An honor roll student with a job and a vehicle trying to provide the best for my cat and dog, and get away from my family reputation ? Am I wrong to say this women was being unprofessional and rude?Edit : her name is Naomi, and the shelter said I was immature because I posted my experience :) I wish the best for these animals.

This is a wonderful home for animals awaiting a longtime home. The workers are caring and sensitive to needs if all animals. The animals are treated with love and respect. I only wish the community could help find the funds to support a No Kill Center.

The staff here is just horrible. I’ve never met so many heartless people in one place. They are horrible to their animals and horrible to the people trying to give them homes. I hope each and every one of them finds a way to thaw out their ice cold hearts. Never been so sickened in my life.

The animal shelter is very well maintained, clean with a knowledgeable and courteous staff. I wish places that this were not necessary, however as they are, this place is as good as it gets for rescued animals.

I am a foster for this shelter. I love working with all the wonderful loving staff/volunteers
