The facility is well kept and the staff is friendly. You can really tell they care for the animals. I am glad they make purchasing dog licenses easy. They are open at convenient times.

Great place love my Goldie I got.they were so friendly and helpful they even sent him two kitty beds with him . He really loves the one and my other cats enjoy the other . Thank u for being there and helping all the animals

I was there for the open house and got a tour of the whole place. All the employees there do an outstanding job and the employees look pretty happy. They are a no kill shelter, which is great. They take care of a lot of animals and try to get them all placed in good homes after they've been spayed or neutered. Of course, there are animals brought in from animal control too.Some animals are there for other reasons while waiting for their owners to claim them. A lot of time is spent cleaning, bathing, making sure everything is disinfected, and that the animals are healthy and made to feel safe. Some surgeries are also done at the shelter. There are a lot of supplies they need for the critters, so if you are able to make a donation or bring them needed supplies, I know they would be appreciated. Towels, food, toys, detergents,shampoos. Just think of supplies you need for your own critters at home. I brought my friend Terry with me, and we were both pretty impressed with all the staff and Shelter Director DeeDee Mendyk. We spoke to a lot of the staff. Too many to name, and I don't want to forget any of them in my review. Great job Roscommon County Animal Shelter!! 👏

Animals are a blessing to have in our lives, and please cherish the pets that come into your lives, they are a gift from God. My little doggy “Winter” is missed so much and since he’s passed on I look every now at the Roscommon County Animal Shelter for another baby to love. My doggy Winter wasn’t adopted from here but I Will keep looking here for my next!

We adopted Storm about 3 or 4 years ago, since then she has become one of the best dogs we have ever had. Last fall she became a certified service dog for Veterans. She found a forever home with us,we love her so much.

The shelter itself is wonderful and clean and they take great care of all the animals but when you call them because of a situation you need help with or your animal gets attacked by another dog you better call no matter the time and are supposed to know to leave a message and wait to be gotten back to. That's if you get a phone call back.

We adopted (who rescued who?) our furry kids (from this shelter) and raised them for 17 years until they crossed the rainbow bridge. Great shelter and staff.

We adopted a BIG boy Collie, only a year old, he is such a true blessing. We had to wait almost 3 weeks to get him, but we visited him every wkend. The ladies that work there are all AWESOME~! They are so good with the animals, they are gifts from God~!

We found a dog and called this shelter. My boyfriend works past their closing hours so he took off work early to go drop this dog off. We had been in contact through out the day. Someone was supposed to come from animal control to get him but came to the wrong apartment. My boyfriend called at 3:30 saying that we were on the way but would be there right at closing. They said ok. We got there 3 minutes before closing and here comes butch talking about I know you're not here 3 minutes before closing to drop this dog off. Keep him in the car. So not only did my boyfriend leave work early yesterday but now has to miss 2 hours of work in the morning because this woman didn't want to do her job within their hours. Such a shame we'll probably never do this again

We had our dog Sparky he was a 14yr old Jack Russell and passed away a week ago. Three days after he passed, my husband Mark said he seen another Jack Russell but a female online at Missaukee Humane Society site had us fill out form to have them review and let us know if she was available. Roscommon Animal Shelter had called to let my husband know that they had someone already interested in her and are doing a walk about. So she was no longer available. Next day Roscommon Animal Shelter called to say she is now available, they other people did not think she was a dog for her. We drove right up from Saginaw, they brought her out to us and she was so frail & shy from being rescued from a puppy mill. We were given a jar of treats to hand to Rose (name they gave her) and she slowly came up to us and ate a few treats. Husband asked what I thought, she was going to take time to gain trust and train be inside. Rose was out in freezing cold incaged, no loving care at all. She was very timid, but was gentle when taking a treat from our hand. The shelter gave us a care package with new collar, lease, blankie & 3 dog toys. She is home now with us, we love her and renamed her Wendy Rose. She didn't respond much to Rose, but seems to respond to Wendy. Very sweet loving little dog & is fast learner, lives being inside a warm home and feels safe now. If looking for a rescue dog, check out Roscommon Animal Shelter. There's not enough space in the box allotted for comments for me to be able to cover all of the positive things I can say about this shelter. I was able to adopt the very best friend an 81 year old man could have. Ace is a 6 year old boxer/lab mix. And a true member of the breed known as a scam hound LOL.

Amazing place, the visiting veterinarian is wonderful too! Took my cat to be nuetered and she even took a look at a small problem he had; was able to fix that too for extra money. So thankful for all you do!!

Adopt Don't Shop. Nice healthy environment to choose a new furry best friend. Helpful associates. Great fees for adoption. Spay and neuter. Shot clinics monthly too.

Excellent and clean facility, very kind and knowledgeable staff. These people see a lot of things that the animals in this county go through, and they are extremely vigilant in making sure the sheltered animals are well taken care of. The staff there works very hard.

You get rid of your best employee after you appoint someone who knows NOTHING about running an animal shelter. The place is filthy now after the manager took vacation and she was very dedicated. My sympathy is for the animals.
